Abstract

A cutting saw is one of the tools used to cut wood material. In this regard, the cutting saw still has shortcomings in its application. Several testing methods were conducted to analyze the failures of cutting saws circulating in the community, including the Nordic body map questionnaire. After checking directly, there are complaints of pain when using a cutting saw, especially on the right hand. For this reason, it is necessary to redesign it as a consideration later expected to improve the shortcomings in the current cutting saw. Several methods are used in this redesign, including TRIZ, OWAS, and anthropometry. TRIZ is a method used in the development of a design. This method's concept leads to solutions to the problem of contradictions that occur and leads to innovative solutions that have been tested with 100% success. After obtaining the function or attributes of the product, the next stage is to improve the user's posture so that the cutting saw tool can be used optimally and can initiate. The OWAS method corrects the postural position used in cutting saws. The specification of the handsaw product design based on the processing of the voice of the customer using a tree analysis diagram is that the features are reducing fatigue levels and being able to cut quickly, as well as for reliability, namely the handle with anti-slip qualities.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a retail store in the city of Semarang. The main focus was to measure the quality of service against consumer perceptions and expectations of the retail rate. This study analyses the factors influencing consumer perception and how to design services to match consumer expectations. The population in this study is consumers who shop. The method used in this study is the Fuzzy Servqual method. Based on the results of processing and analysis, it is known that the dimensions that have the highest gap value are the Assurance dimension (-1.5175), while the tangibles dimension (-1.37), reliability (-0.318), responsiveness (-0.176) and empathy (0.315). From the result of the gap value, the empathy dimension is very satisfying, and customers feel comfortable with employee service, friendliness, and assistance with product info at retail. The assurance dimension is a dimension that must be improved by improving the state of the room, temperature, and lighting and providing a safe area for retail protesters.

Abstract

Cassava (Manihotesculenta) is an agricultural commodity widely used to meet various human needs and increase production. Cassava peeling requires technological improvements, including the peeling process. The L-shaped iron, which is shaped at a right angle, functions as a blade that will rotate and slice the material's surface continuously along with the rotation of the peeling cylinder. This research stage includes functional, structural, and testing approaches. The test parameters on the machine prototype are material mass, percentage of damage due to stripping, rate of unpeeled skin, and stripping efficiency. The smallest weight value and the one with the most significant weight value have a large difference in power value, namely 5.83 Watts. This occurs due to the large voltage and electric current deals, which initially peeling cassava with a diameter of 48 mm were only 4.49 volts and 3.3 amperes, which increased when peeling cassava weighing 52 mm. The current value required was 4.8 volts and 4.3 amperes.

Abstract

The amount of liquid nitrogen (LIN) and liquid oxygen (LOX) production capacity experienced significant fluctuations, so it took several months before it reached the production target implemented by the company. It is necessary to measure productivity on the production floor. This study aims to determine the level of productivity of the production section, and the results of this measurement can be used to evaluate the company's productivity level. Productivity measurement using the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method. The criteria used in this study are material productivity, energy productivity, labor productivity, and finished product productivity. The highest productivity values achieved during measurements from January to December were 900 in LIN production in July and 790 in LOX production in January. Factors that cause low productivity are workers who are less careful or negligent in handling machine damage, the absence of a quality control system in checking raw materials before being placed in the storage warehouse, the lack of a shut-off valve between pipes, causing free air to enter, causing products to be rejected and also machines that work continuously for 24 hours.

Abstract

Machine maintenance plays a vital role in the production activities of a company, which concerns the smooth and bottleneck of production. This research was conducted in a company engaged in palm oil processing. The company often suffers from machine breakdowns and has not found a suitable solution. Reliability Maintenance is one of the methods used to determine the appropriate maintenance actions for each critical component on the Cake Breaker Conveyor (CBC) machine, based on analysis using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) by looking at the highest RPN value of each component, 4 critical elements are obtained from the 11 main features of the Cake Breaker Conveyor (CBC) machine, namely bearing parts, Universal Joint, Rod Clutch and Pen. Determine the maintenance schedule of critical components at the seed separation station. Taking damage, lognormal distribution, proposed replacement schedule 461.5 (hours), pen damage, normal distribution, proposed replacement schedule 587.29 (hours), universal joint damage, normal distribution, proposed replacement schedule 536.46 (hours), clutch rod damage, normal distribution, proposed replacement schedule 581.6 (hours), and axle damage, normal distribution, proposed replacement schedule 586.6 (hours).
