Abstract

This research was conducted at a company manufacturing paving blocks, ceramics, ventilation, concrete, and roof tiles. This study aims to improve the quality of concrete tile products, which experience the most cracks and breaks. Research to determine the composition of concrete roof tiles can be carried out by design experiments using the Taguchi method. This experiment used raw materials such as cement, sand, milled flour, and water. The concluding results show that the quality of concrete roof tiles is based on the results of the Taguchi method and confirmation experiments which are characterized by an increase in the compressive strength of the concrete tile based on the average value (μ) and its variability (SNR). The average compressive strength (µ) of concrete roof tiles increased from 19,814 ≤ 21,208 ≤ 22,602 in the Taguchi experiment to 26,406 ≤ µconfirmation ≤ 29,894 in the confirmation experiment. While the variability (SNR) increased from 25.532 ≤ 27.521 ≤ 29.510 in the Taguchi experiment to 26.473 ≤ S/N confirmed ≤ 31.469 in the confirmation experiment. The optimal composition of cement, sand, milled flour, and water that produces the best compressive strength based on the response factor and SNR is 0.9 kg: 0.5 kg: 0.4 kg: 0.3 kg, respectively. The most influential factors on the compressive strength of concrete roof tiles are the amount of sand and the number of flour mills

Abstract

Indonesia's chicken meat supply chain usually starts from large-scale chicken farmers, distributed to medium-scale chicken agents/toke, traditional slaughter chicken traders, then restaurants and homemakers as end customers. In such a long supply chain, contamination may cause the halal status of slaughtered chicken products to be questioned. The problem studied is the potential risk that can cause contamination of halal slaughtered chicken products from suppliers to end customers. Therefore, this study aims to identify the risk of contamination in the halal supply chain of slaughtered chicken products and obtain recommendations for corrective actions so that slaughtered chicken products are maintained halal. Data is processed using manual Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methods, ISM Professional V 5.0 software, MICMAC Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The conclusions obtained from this study are the identification of the risk of contamination of the halal supply chain in slaughtered chicken products consisting of 26 risk elements, recommendations for corrective actions based on the assessment of contextual relationships between risk elements, among others, slaughterers should be given adequate rest time and the number of workers should be adjusted to the workload, and recommendations for corrective actions based on the assessment of the risk level of each element, among others, preferably  slaughterers are given education and motivation; Every slaughterer should be required to attend halal slaughterer training; The slaughterer should be motivated to always apply the slaughter training he participates in; ante-mortem should be done before the chickens are delivered; it is best to provide enough containers for chickens after slaughter; And the chicken should be left for up to 3 minutes after slaughter and make sure the chicken has completely died.

Abstract

The development of technology today is widely misused by some people who intend to forge paper on documents and books. One way to find out the authenticity of a paper is by knowing its age. The age of paper can be known in several ways: carbon dating, uranium dating, and potassium-argon dating. But these methods still have weaknesses, requiring sophisticated equipment at a high cost, long processes to get results and limited access. To solve this problem, researchers made an application that can identify the age range of a sheet of paper with a faster process, low cost and does not have to be used by laboratory employees alone. The application is a Paper Age Prediction Application made desktop-based, using the MATLAB programming language with the Anfis Sugeno (TSK) Gaussian membership function method. Image processing by taking the average values of C, M, Y, and K from 70 images used as a database and will be trained with ANFIS. The research method uses interviews, observations, and literature studies—the prototype application development method. The test results showed an application success rate in identifying 60 data that had been trained by 100% against 40 that had not been trained by 42.5%.

Abstract

Health agencies need speed of information services and provide optimal service to customers. The patient medical record procedures at the Rohil Medika Clinic, from patient registration to making daily reports, still use a manual system, so activities are ineffective and inefficient. The research aims to produce a design for a Web-Based Patient Medical Record Application at the Rohil Medika Clinic, which makes monthly patient visit report information and patient medical record report information that aligns with the needs of the Rohil Medika Clinic. The data collection method was obtained by observing and interviewing Rohil Medika Clinic Leaders and other medical workers. Data processing begins with evaluating the Clinic's needs and then designing the system design, interface, system coding (implementation), and conducting system testing. The research results based on trials show that the application can handle patient administration, patient examinations, and patient medical records and save time searching patient data by up to 67.6% to 90.9%. Medical record applications also increase clinical services from 25 patients to 45 patients/day to 45 patients to 95 patients/day. The system can also provide information on daily and monthly patient visit reports, medical records, and patient data reports.

Abstract

This research was conducted on the layout of copra processing facilities. Copra is one of the products to be produced by the Small and Medium Industry Center in the Meranti Islands. The purpose of designing the layout of this copra factory facility is to provide a proposal in the form of a copra processing facility layout with the shortest material handling distance. The methods used in this study are Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and Arena Simulation. The result of the SLP method is in the form of alternative layout proposals, which will be checked with a simulation model. This Arena simulation is carried out to see whether the production process of the resulting layout is good or not by implementing it into a conceptual model in the Arena software, which is then tested to see the disruptions that exist in the production process, such as the accumulation of raw materials at one of the stations (bottleneck). Based on data processing results, one alternative layout was selected with a material handling distance of 26.33 m from 3 existing alternatives. This selection is based on the smallest material handling distance obtained. Furthermore, testing the layout with the Arena software simulation model found that there was a disruption in the production process in the form of a buildup of raw materials at the smoking and drying station caused by the manual drying process using the scorching heat of the sun so that it takes 4-5 days for the drying process.

Abstract

One of the two standard replacement aids for motorcycles is the Standard Paddock. The use of Paddock Standard itself was initially only used on sports or racing motorcycles because it did not have standards attached to the motorcycle. However, after the times and technology, leverage standards are in great demand by motorcycle lovers for daily activities and modifications. This research aims to design Paddock Standard tools that suit the wants and needs of consumers who are functional and able to provide safety, comfort, and convenience for their users. The design of the tool uses the Quality Function Deployment (Q.F.D.) method, which will later become a benchmark in making design concepts. There are two design concepts and one combined concept, where the selected is a combined concept A + B. After users test the concept and prototype of the design product as consumers, the average likes the product concept, which can provide more function than the previous tool. When asked if it can be implemented quickly and use the tool every day, most answer that they will probably use it more often every day.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a company that operates in the printing or graphics sector. The concept of quality control is the most critical part because newspapers or printed media are products with the fastest production process. PT carries out the quality control process. PT XYZ to lower the failed results on the paper. Quality control measurements use the P chart method. Results of quality control measurements at PT. XYZ is outside the control limits, and that is not normal, so corrective action is needed, especially the number of failed newspapers. On average, newspapers failed from January to May, reaching 8.24% of the total newspapers produced. Events that cause failure in newspapers are analyzed through risk management. Risk management measurements use the Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) methods. Risk management results show that five risks cause newspaper failure, namely scattered ink, slanted fonts, blurred images, dirty images, and thick fonts.
