Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and analyze the relevance of the Merdeka Curriculum in its application. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study examines the related literature to understand the evaluation approaches applied to PAI in PAUD, as well as the challenges and opportunities arising from the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The findings reveal that the evaluation of PAI in PAUD is diverse, with formative and summative assessment approaches commonly used. However, there are gaps, particularly in teachers' understanding of the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and the integration of appropriate learning materials. The Merdeka Curriculum offers flexibility and relevance, but its implementation is hindered by the lack of teacher training and the availability of adequate teaching materials. Based on these findings, the study recommends the development of clearer evaluation guidelines, enhanced teacher training, and increased collaboration between educators, PAUD institutions, and policymakers. With these steps, it is expected that PAI teaching will be more effective in shaping children's character with noble morals. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in instilling noble moral values through the habituation of daily prayers and memorization of short Quranic verses, with a case study at BA Ketro 1. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and parents, as well as documentation related to the habituation activities conducted at the school. The results of the study indicate that the habituation of prayers and memorization of short verses is implemented in a structured manner, utilizing creative media such as songs, games, and visualizations, designed according to the characteristics of young children. Furthermore, collaboration between teachers, parents, and the community is a key factor in supporting the success of this habituation program. This research makes an important contribution to the development of character education strategies in Islamic-based PAUD institutions, especially in rural areas with distinct socio-cultural potentials. Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of Islamic values-based clay as a learning medium to enhance early childhood creativity at RA GUPPI Klesem. Creativity is a crucial aspect that should be developed from an early age, involving imaginative thinking, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. Clay was chosen as an innovative medium due to its flexibility, ease of shaping, and potential for integration with Islamic values such as ethics and morality. Children were encouraged to create Islamic-themed shapes, such as Arabic letters, miniature mosques, and other religious symbols. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included teachers and children at RA GUPPI Klesem, with parents' involvement to support learning at home. The results show that clay significantly improved children's creativity, particularly in fine motor skills, imagination, and understanding of Islamic values. Children became more active, enthusiastic, and capable of producing creative, educational works. Moreover, the involvement of teachers and parents played a vital role in strengthening the effectiveness of learning. Thus, Islamic values-based clay learning media can be an innovative alternative to support creativity and character development in early childhood education. Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the learning environment in supporting the socio-emotional development of early childhood within the context of the Kurikulum Merdeka. A positive learning environment has been proven to significantly contribute to the development of children's socio-emotional skills, such as communication, empathy, and emotional regulation. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this research analyzed 25 articles published between 2018 and 2025 from various indexed journals. The findings reveal that positive interactions with teachers and peers, active parental involvement, and the integration of educational games significantly support the formation of children's socio-emotional skills. The Kurikulum Merdeka provides significant opportunities through project-based learning and activities tailored to children's developmental needs. However, challenges such as teachers' limited understanding of the approach and inadequate educational facilities remain significant obstacles. Collaboration between schools and families, along with continuous teacher training, is essential to optimize the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in fostering early childhood socio-emotional development. Abstract

Parental guidance plays a crucial role in shaping the learning discipline of early childhood. Discipline in early childhood is one of the essential aspects of character and personality development. Children who are disciplined tend to follow rules more easily, take responsibility, and have good self-control. One of the influential factors in children's discipline is the guidance provided by parents. This study aims to analyze the influence of parental guidance on the discipline of early childhood at Pos PAUD Bina Hidayah Kluwih. This study employs a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires given to parents and educators at Pos PAUD Bina Hidayah Kluwih. The results indicate that children who receive active parental guidance exhibit a higher level of discipline compared to those who receive minimal guidance. Forms of guidance include setting clear rules at home, parents serving as role models, and the consistent application of consequences when children break the rules. Furthermore, effective communication between parents and children also plays a role in helping children understand the importance of discipline. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that parental guidance has a significant influence on the formation of early childhood discipline. Therefore, raising awareness and encouraging active parental participation in guiding children is necessary to instill discipline from an early age. With optimal parental involvement, children can grow into individuals who are more organized, responsible, and possess good self-control. Keywords: Guidance, Parents, Discipline, Early Childhood

Abstract

Education is a learning process that aims to develop individual potential, both in intellectual, emotional, social, and life skills aspects. Children's cognitive development includes increasing the ability to think critically, which includes various important aspects of the cognitive process. In this phase, children begin to learn to think logically, such as remembering, memorizing, and drawing conclusions based on the information they remember. Consequently, interactive and fun learning media are essential to facilitate early childhood comprehension of numerical concepts. Number symbol cards effectively facilitate early childhood comprehension of numerical concepts in an engaging manner. This study employs a descriptive qualitative methodology. The objective of the qualitative methodology is to examine how educators endeavour to enhance children's cognitive skills through the utilisation of number symbol cards. The outcomes of the initial meeting were just 8%, which rose to 19.33% in the subsequent meeting as compared to week one. This means that in week 2 there has been an increase of 27.33% when compared to week I. Moral support, a positive learning environment, and the availability of learning resources at home also encourage children to understand the concept more optimally. The use of interactive learning media that suits children's learning styles can be a solution to improve their understanding of the basic concepts of recognizing numbers and support their readiness to enter the next level of education. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of local wisdom-based collage techniques in improving the artistic abilities of early childhood. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects of this study were 20 children at Tunas Harapan Kalikuning Kindergarten, Pacitan. Data collection was carried out through observation, tests, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that local wisdom-based collage techniques can significantly improve the artistic abilities of early childhood, which includes creativity, drawing ability and fine motor skills. This can be seen from the increase in the average score of students who reached the very well developed (BSB) criteria in each post-test carried out. This study concludes that local wisdom-based collage techniques are effective in improving the artistic abilities of early childhood and can be an attractive and fun learning alternative for children. Abstract

This article explores the application of Islamic counseling for early childhood education (PAUD) through Islamic mindfulness methods as a strategy to establish a spiritual foundation in the modern era. Islamic counseling plays a crucial role in integrating religious values into the educational process, while Islamic mindfulness techniques assist children in developing self-awareness and emotional regulation. Utilizing a qualitative approach with library research, this study examines the benefits and challenges associated with implementing these two methodologies. The findings reveal that the combination of Islamic counseling and mindfulness significantly enhances children's character and spirituality, fostering a positive relationship between parents and children. Furthermore, this integrated approach is anticipated to contribute meaningfully to the development of a generation equipped with strong Islamic values, capable of navigating the complexities of the digital age. By emphasizing the importance of spiritual education in early childhood, this research underscores the need for educators and parents to collaborate in nurturing children's moral and ethical development. Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of early childhood in Nurul Falah Masalembu Kindergarten, Sumenep in recognizing geometric shapes due to the application of conventional methods that are less interactive. The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of constructive play as a fun learning approach in improving the ability to recognize geometric shapes in early childhood. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with a case study approach to 20 children through participatory observation, interviews with teachers, and documentation of play activities. The results showed that constructive play, such as the use of blocks and geometric boards, was able to improve children's ability to recognize, distinguish, and combine basic geometric shapes. Children also showed increased motivation, self-confidence, and active participation in the learning process. Teachers play an important role in designing contextual play activities and facilitating children's creative exploration. The implications of this study indicate that constructive play can be an effective and applicable alternative learning strategy, especially in the 3T region, by creating a more meaningful learning atmosphere and in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood development. Abstract

This This study investigates the effectiveness of Qur’anic instructional methods used at the Quranic Education Center (TPA) of Ar-Rohmah Ash-Sholihin Mosque, located in Ngabeyan, Sukoharjo. The TPA applies two key methods: the individualized Iqro’ approach for beginner learners and the tartil-based halaqah model for more advanced students. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation on March 29, 2025. The findings suggest that the integration of both methods substantially improves students’ Qur’anic reading abilities. The Iqro’ method supports personalized learning tailored to individual progress, while the halaqah approach fosters interactive group learning that enhances tajwid proficiency through peer engagement. Several factors influence the effectiveness of the program, including student consistency, teacher competence, supportive learning environments, and the regularity of sessions. Challenges such as limited instructional time, insufficient teaching personnel, and inconsistent student motivation were identified. Nonetheless, the TPA addresses these challenges through adaptive strategies such as scheduling adjustments, involvement of senior students, interactive learning techniques, and increased parental engagement.
