Abstract

This study examines the influence of different teaching methods on university students at beginner and intermediate levels in learning the fundamentals of foil fencing, particularly stance and footwork. It highlights that traditional instructional approaches may not adequately address individual differences in motor learning, which can limit student engagement and skill development despite their interest in the sport. Objective, The study aims to compare the effectiveness of various teaching methods (such as adaptive learning strategies, task variability, and interactive instruction) with traditional instructor-centered methods in improving students’ technical performance and motor skill acquisition in fencing. Method, A sample of 40 University of Diyala students were split into experimental and control groups using an experimental design. Five fundamental fencing abilities were evaluated in pre- and post-tests for both groups: Basic Stance, On-Guard stance, Forward movement (Advance), Retreat, and Lunge technique. Paired and independent t-tests were used to assess the data. Results, According to the findings, the experimental group outperformed the control group in terms of coordination, movement efficiency, and technical execution. Using a variety of instructional approaches greatly improved performance retention, engagement, and skill gain. Conclusion, The research comes to the conclusion that when it comes to improving fencing skills, student-centered and adaptable teaching strategies work better than conventional ones. In order to improve coaching efficacy, it suggests using contemporary teaching techniques and technology-assisted learning, as well as investigating long-term skill retention and applying such approaches across different sports disciplines.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of using the Forrest Strategy (A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words) on developing the learning of the chest pass and changing-direction dribbling skills in basketball among female students. The researcher used the experimental approach due to its suitability to the research problem. The research sample consisted of first-year female students in the morning study at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Maarif College, totaling (50) students. The researcher used the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) to process the data statistically. The researcher concluded that the Forrest Strategy has a positive effect on developing the learning of the chest pass and changing-direction dribbling skills in a very positive time. The researcher recommends the necessity of applying strategies that use pictures as a visual stimulus to increase students' interaction and attraction.

Abstract

The purpose of the investigation was to determine the effect of Guided Inquiry Model on teaching football trapping and passing skills. 1.1. Objective of the Study. The goal was also to establish the difference between experimental and control groups of specifications. The researcher employed an experimental design that utilized both pretest and posttest. The participating section consisted of (150) students who are the first stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for the year 2025-2026 are distributed over the six sections. A total of 40 students were taken as the primary experimental sample from sections D and F. They were divided into two groups (Experimental group (20 students) – Control group (20 students). After the pretesting, the experimental group received treatment in the form of training consisting of 8 educational units based on the Guided Inquiry Model, which was implemented at the rate of 2 units per week. The results showed that this research proven the Guided Inquiry Model contributes to learning catching and passing the ball skills. Additionally, the model also assists students to build knowledge and cognitive engagement through the learning activity. The study’s recommendation to teach the football skill of trapping and passing is to use the educational curriculum of Guided Inquiry Model. It further recommends conducting additional investigations to assess the appropriateness of this model on additional team sports.
