Abstract

The primary issue within the national education system is the dichotomy between formal and non-formal pathways, which leads to policy inequality and low recognition of lifelong education. This study aims to analyze the integration of non-formal education policies and their impact on enhancing the quality of life and learning motivation of students. A qualitative approach was employed through literature review and document analysis of 15 key references, including national education laws, ministry strategic plans, and field research results. The research subjects encompass national macro-policy data as well as micro-data from learners at the Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar (SKB) in Serang City and TPA Nurul Amal in Pringsewu, involving administrators, tutors, and dozens of students. The research findings reveal that non-formal education significantly improves the economic welfare and spiritual understanding of students; however, it is hindered by non-standardized institutional management and a lack of parental attention. In conclusion, strengthening non-formal education as a foundation for lifelong learning requires a policy shift from a top-down to a bottom-up model that is community-oriented. It is recommended that the government immediately formulate operational regulations regarding lifelong learning to ensure equitable access, service quality in Community Learning Centers (PKBM), and a nationally recognized competency certification system to support the vision of a more advanced Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the family environment on the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning achievement of elementary school students in Pagandon Village. The family environment, as the first and primary educational setting, is believed to significantly shape children’s academic performance through parenting patterns, emotional support, and socio-economic conditions. This research employed a quantitative approach with a deductive method. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews, with a sample of 81 parents, representing 25% of the total population. The data were analyzed statistically using the SPSS program, including validity, reliability, correlation, and simple linear regression tests. The findings reveal a positive and significant correlation between the family environment and students’ PAI achievement. The Spearman correlation test confirmed that supportive family environments—characterized by active parental involvement, consistent communication, and religious home practices—tend to enhance students’ academic performance. Regression analysis further indicated that the family environment contributes meaningfully to variations in learning achievement, with a significance value below 0.05. These results highlight the critical role of the family as the foundation of children’s education. Strengthening parental involvement, maintaining harmonious interactions, and fostering religious values at home are recommended strategies to improve students’ performance in Islamic Religious Education. This study not only provides empirical evidence for the importance of family factors in

Overwhelmed studies have investigated the significance of teachers’ professional career development in various conventional schools in Nigeria. However, little effort is made in enhancing teachers’ professional career development in Al-Majiri schools in spite of recent efforts of the Nigerian government in integrating the system into mainstream system of Universal Basic Education (UBE). This study primarily aims at investigating teachers’ professional career development in Al-Majiri Integrated Model Schools (AIMS) in Sokoto State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research was used. Convenient sampling technique was employed to select 306 respondents from three AIMS (i.e., Denge Shuni, Gagi and Wammako Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, Nigeria. Validity and reliability of the instrument were established. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Descriptive statistics was used for data analysis (i.e., Tables, frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations) were computed via Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. The findings demonstrated that, the majority of the respondents have positive perceptions on various factors of teachers’ professional career development namely: teachers’ personality, teacher-student relations, teachers’ classroom management, teachers’ involvement in school administration, developing professionally and teachers’ professionalism because the average mean score for each measure is more than the criterion mean of 2.50.
