Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of the objectives of learning mathematics that must be possessed by students. However, the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII students at SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang is still low. One of the efforts that can be made to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts is by applying the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model. This study aims to analyze and compare the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn using the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model better than those who learn using direct learning in class VIII SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang. This type of research is quasy experiment with the research design is Static Group Design. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang who were enrolled in the 2022/2023 school year. The sample in this study was determined using the Simple Random Sampling technique with class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.2 as the control class. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and t test. Based on the results of the analysis of mathematical concept understanding tests with a significant level of α = 0.05, P - value = 0.001 is obtained because P - value < α then rejects . This shows that students' understanding of mathematical concepts who learn using the Numbered Heads Together cooperative learning model is better than those who learn using the direct learning model in class VIII SMP Angkasa Lanud Sutan Sjahrir Padang.Keywords —Understanding of mathematical concept, Numbered Heads Together, Direct Learning.

Student outcomes of learning are simply changes in behavior as a learning result. Outcomes in result are the attainment of educational goals for students who participate in the teaching and process of learning. The reality on the ground found that the outcomes of learning mathematics by Class VIII students of MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota for the 2022/2023 learning year are still low. The solution that can will be increase outcomes in learning by student in mathematics is to apply the type is model learning in cooperative for student achievement divisions. The research purpose was to give description whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who studied using the student team achievement divisions cooperative model in learning were better than those who learned by direct learning in class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota. This research type was quasi-experimental with a randomized control-group only design. The research population were students of class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota. The selected for sample was carried out by using technique in random sampling. The instrument used is a mathematics learning achievement test in consist of essay questions. Based on the research in analysis of data results at the real level and P-value = 0.0228 using the U test, we known that the outcomes of learning by students who studied using the type is model learning in cooperative for student achievement divisions were bettermore good than students who studied using the model of learning in direct for class VIII MTsN 2 Lima Puluh Kota.Keywords– Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Student Teams Achievement Divisions, Direct Learning

Students should learn effective arithmetic problem-solving techniques as one of their learning objectives in mathematics. Nonetheless, pupils still have a limited capacity for solving mathematical puzzles. Learning methods that use problem-based learning (PBL) are one way to help students get better at solving problems. This study aims to compare the problem-solving skills of students who learn using a problem-based learning model with those of students who learn using direct instruction. It also aims to describe how students' mathematical problem-solving skills develop when they apply a problem-based learning learning model in class XI MIPA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. This sort of study uses a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only grouping that is not equivalent.Students in class XI MIPA SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in yhe academic year 2022–2023 make up this population, with class XI MIPA 3 serving as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 serving as the control class. Research data was gathered by testing and quizzing students on their problem-solving skills. Based on the average score and the proportion of students who scored well on each indication, the value data quiz was analyzed. T-test data analysis is used. Understanding mathematics concepts is a fundamental goal to be achieved while learning mathematics. However, based on data from daily assessment results of the 'Relations and Functions' teaching material, it was found in the field that understanding of mathematical concepts was still low among his 8th grade students at SMP Pembangnan Laboratorium UNP. His one solution to overcome this problem is to use collaborative learning models for Mood, understanding, recalling, detersion, engaging and validating. The purpose of this study is to show that students' understanding of mathematical concepts using a MURDER-type collaborative learning model is superior to that of students using a direct learning model in Class 8th at the SMP Pembangnan Laboratorium UNP. It was about knowing if it was better than understanding. This type of study is quasi-experimental with a quasi-experimental study design. Sample selection was performed by a simple random sampling technique, with Class VIII B being the experimental class and Class VIII A being the control class. The tools for this study were quizzes and final tests to understand math concepts. The results showed that comprehension of mathematics concepts was higher among students who learned in Mood, Comprehension, Recall, Digestion, Expansion, and Repetitive Collaborative Learning models than students who learned in conventional learning. One of the most important goals in learning mathematics is to understand the concept. In addition, understanding the concept is the foundation when learning mathematics. In fact, the competence of students in class VII SMPN 2 Pulau Punjung in understanding the concept is still lacking. The application of the discovery learning model is one of the strategies that can increase understanding of mathematical concepts. The research was conducted to find out students' understanding of mathematical concepts taught with superior discovery learning models compared to those taught with direct learning models for class VII SMPN 2 Pulau Punjung. This research is a quasi-experimental study using a non-equivalent posttest only control group design. All students in class VII SMPN 2 Pulau Punjung were used as the research population, and the experimental group was class VII.A and the control group was class VII.C. The instrument applied to the research is the final test of understanding the concept in the form of essay questions. From the data analyzed and discussed, it can be concluded that the understanding of the concepts learned through discovery learning is superior to learning in Class VII SMPN 2 Pulau Punjung with the direct learning model. This study aims to describe the analysis of the application of the scientific approach in the process of learning mathematics for class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru. The research design used is a naturalistic research method. The research was conducted in class VIII Binsus SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru with a total of 25 students. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets and response questionnaires that had been validated by experts. Data analysis techniques according to Zarkasyi et al, namely data obtained from non-test instruments are generally in the form of qualitative data which is processed in a qualitative way or quantified then analyzed descriptively. The results of the description of the RPP observation sheet data are 87.5% with almost all optimal interpretations, the observation sheet for the application of the scientific approach at meeting 1 is 86% with almost all optimal interpretations, and the observation sheet for the application of the scientific approach at meeting 2 is 90% with the interpretation already almost completely optimal. The results of the description of the teacher's response questionnaire data were 96% with interpretations that were almost entirely optimal and student response questionnaires were 77% with interpretations that were almost entirely optimal. Factors causing the application of a scientific approach in learning mathematics that is not fully optimal from the educator's point of view are the less efficient and less effective methods used by educators, the use of instructional media that is not yet attractive, learning strategies that are not yet interactive, and time management that is not in accordance with class hours. Meanwhile, from the point of view of students, they are less enthusiastic about participating in ongoing learning, do not have strong learning motivation, do not have good active learning abilities, and are not able to fully focus on learning.Keywords —Analysis, Saintific Approach, Mathematics Learning

Teaching materials type used in school is learning modules. The modules are still general in nature and not optimal for familiarizing students with problem solving questions. Therefore, develop learning modules based on problem-solving so that students are familiar with problem-solving questions. The research objective is to produce products that criteria are valid, practical, and effective. The results obtained a very valid and very practical problem solving-based trigonometry learning module with a score of 88.88 and 90.19. The level of effectiveness is high with an N-gain value of 0.77. Based on these data concluded the trigonometry learning modules based on problem-solving that has been developed is criteria as very valid, very practical, and high effective to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities.Keywords– Module, Trigonometry, Valid, Practical, Effective

One of the qualities that students need to learn is the capacity to solve mathematical problems. However, class XI MIPA SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP students still have poor mathematical problem-solving skills. This is because the learning model used failed to develop students' math problem-solving abilities. The Think Talk Write (TTW) type of cooperative learning technique can be utilized to enhance students' math problem-solving skills. The Quasy Experiment and Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design have been selected as the study design type and model, respectively. Problem-solving ability is one of the abilities that students need to have in learning mathematics. Based on the results of observations at SMPN 1 Harau, it can be seen that students' mathematical problem-solving abilities are still low. One of the learning models that can be used to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities is the 7E Learning Cycle model. The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe whether the mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Harau became better after the Learning Cycle 7E model was applied. The type of research used is pre-experimental with the One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The population in this study were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Harau in the 2022/2023 academic year. Samples were taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique, class VIII.5 as the sample class. The research instrument used was a test of mathematical problem-solving abilities in the form of essay questions. Based on the results of data analysis for hypothesis testing, it was found that at a significant level, α = 0.05 with the t-test P-value = 0.000 was obtained. Because the P-value is ˂ α, it can be concluded that is rejected. So it was concluded that the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who learned by applying the 7E Learning Cycle model were better than the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students whose learning did not use the 7E Learning Cycle model in class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Harau.Keywords — Solving Mathematical Problem, 7E Learning Cycle.

The purpose of this research is to find out the level of students' mathematical communication abilities. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The stages in this study were divided into the preparation, implementation and analysis stage. The instrument used is a test in the form of essay questions which contain indicators of mathematical communication ability. This research was conducted in class XI IPS MAN 2 Kota Padang.
