Abstract

Math, particularly for high school drivers, must prepare pupils to address real-world situations. Students' arithmetic skills are poor. In class X Phase E of SMA Negeri 7 Padang, the proportion of students who answered correctly question 8 of Daily Assessment II and mathematical problem-solving stages are evidence. These issues are addressed via Problem Based Learning (PBL). Quasi experimentation and Non-equivalent Posttest Only Control Group Design were utilised. Simple random sampling was used to get experimental class XI F2 and control class XI F1. The final test analysis using the t test yielded a P-value = 0.002, indicating that students who learn using the Problem Based Learning model can solve maths problems better than those who learn directly in class XI Phase F SMA Negeri 7 Padang.Keywords  – Mathematical Problem-Solving Abilities, Problem Based Learning, Direct Learning

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are crucial to learning. The class VIII evaluation of SMPN 26 Padang demonstrates that pupils' mathematics communication skills require improvement. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) helps solve this issue. This study examined the mathematics communication skills of grade VIII students at SMPN 26 Padang who were taught using Problem Based Learning (PBL) and compared them to those taught using conventional techniques. This study also tracked students' mathematics communication skills during PBL implementation. Non-equivalent Posttest Control Group Design was utilized in this quasi-experimental study.PBL students have higher mathematics communication skills than conventional pupils.Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Mathematical Communication Skills, Conventional Learning

Abstract

In school, math communication skills are very important. This study focuses on these skills. The assessment of the XI MIPA class of SMA Negeri 6 Padang shows that students' ability in this area still needs to be improved. Problem-based learning (PBL) can help in this regard. This study examines the advantages of these skills in PBL compared to traditional methods. The study used Quasi Experiment with Posttest-Only Control Group Design and simple random sampling. In the hypothesis test, the P-value of 0.000 rejected the null hypothesis (H0). Abstract

Understanding maths is essential for students. However, at SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung, this capability is still s ubpar. The teacher-centered, educator-dominated nature of the learning process is one of the root reasons of this issue. Other mathematical skills will suffer if this one is weak. In class VIII SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung during the 2023–2024 academic year, the study's objectives were to analyze the increase in concept understanding of students who learn with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (approach and describe whether or not the concept understanding of students who learn with this approach is superior to that of students who learn through direct learning. The type of research is descriptive and quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent post test-only control group design.The population was 2023/2024 SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung class VIII students. For sampling, researchers utilised simple random sampling. Experimental class wa VIII. 1 and control class was VIII.2 Quizzez and final mathstests were rejecting H0. Abstract

One of the important abilities that students must have is mathematical communication skills. However, because the leairning model used in class XII IPA MAN 2 Padang City still focuses on the teacher does not support the development of students' mathematical comunication skill, students' mathematical communication abilities are considered low. Modelproblem based learning (PBL) is used to overcome this problem. Theaim of the research is to explain how students learn mathematical comunication by applying the problem basedd leairning (PBL) model and to analyze the differences in students' mathematical comunication using the PBL model which is better than the direct leairning model. Types of research quasi-experimental research (quasy experiment) with plans nonequivalent postest-only control group design, and descriptive research. The research population is student of class XII IPA MAN 2 Padang City for the 2023/2024 academic year. Sampling methodsimple random sampling with class XII Science 6 experimental groups and XII Science 4 control classes. The research instrument uses quizzes and final tests. Basedd on the results of the quiz analysis, it was found that, for each indicator, except indicator 2, mathematical communication skills had increased, and basedd on the results of hypotesis testing with a level of 0.05, it was obtained, meaning  until minus . This shows that the mathematical communication skill of students who study with the PBL model are better than those who study with the direct leairning model. In this way, it was conclud that therewas an influeince of the PBL model on the mathematical communication skills of students in class XII IPA MAN 2 Padang City..Keywords- Problem Based Learning Models, Comunication Mathematical Ability, Direct Learning Models.

Abstract

Students need critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication abilities in the 21st century. However, class IX SMP Negeri 28 Padang pupils still lack mathematical critical thinking. The STAD learning approach using GeoGebra was selected. This research examined whether students' mathematical critical thinking skills are better when using the STAD type cooperative learning approach using GeoGebra than when studying directly in class IX SMP Negeri 28 Padang. This is a Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design pseudo-experiment. Simple Random Sampling was used. After the draw, class IX.2 was the experimental class and class IX.1 the control class. Questionnaires and tests of mathematical critical thinking were employed for study. This study's hypothesis was proven using the t test. The P-value was 0.000 after data analysis. As the P-value is < α = 0.05, H0 is discarded. Students that use the STAD learning paradigm with GeoGebra have greater mathematical critical thinking skills than those who use direct learning.Keywords– STAD, Mathematical Critical Thinking Skills, Geogebra, Direct Learning.

Abstract

General description of the results In 2023/2024, students in class X IPA E SMA Negeri 2 Padang had low mathematical problem solving skills, were less active, and less passionate about learning. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Ice Breaking is used to overcome the weaknesses of direct learning. This study aims to test whether the implementation of PBL has superior abilities than the direct learning model and how they develop these abilities. In this descriptive quasi-experimental research, Static Group Design was used. The students studied were students in class X.E of SMA 2 Padang, specifically classes X.E 5 and 6. The t-test analysis of the mathematics problem solving ability test in the form of an essay showed a P-value of 0.001 at the α = 0.05 level. Because of this value, H0 is rejected, indicating that PBL is superior to direct learning. Abstract

Learners must be proficient in solving math. The facts in the field show that students in grade IX of SMPN 3 Palembayan TP 2023/2024 have low abilities in this regard. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning approach can be a solution. This research analyzes problem solving skills and explains how RME improves these skills compared to the Scientific approach. A static group design was used for this descriptive quasi-experimental study. Math problem solving quizzes and assessments were used. The development of all indicators was inferred using the quiz data. Abstract

Learning outcomes refer to the measurable accomplishments of pupils that serve as indicators of whether or not the educational goals in the field of mathematics have been successfully attained. However, it is evident that the learning results of Class IX SMPN exhibit a significant deficiency in terms of academic achievement. This phenomenon can be attributed to the adoption of a learning approach that lacks student engagement in the learning process. In order to address these challenges, the implementation of the Discovery Learning approach is employed. The present study used a quasi-experimental approach with a randomised control group posttest only. The research findings reveal that the hypothesis test yielded a P-value of 0.001, suggesting that the null hypothesis ( ) should be rejected. Therefore, it can be inferred that the learning outcomes of ninth-grade students at SMPN, while utilising the Discovery Learning instructional approach, exhibit a higher level of proficiency compared to those who follow conventional learning model.Keywords. –Discovery Learning, Mathematics, learning outcomes

Abstract

Communication skills in mathematics are very important for students. However, in real life the mathematical communication skills of class VII MTsN 2 Kota Payakumbuh students for the 2022/2023 academic year are not yet satisfactory. This can be reviewed through the results of the initial test of mathematical communication skills presented to students. Efforts to achieve improvements in students' mathematical communication skills include implementing a cooperative learning model with the TPSq (Think Pair Square) type. The type of research used is quasi experimental research using a Static Group Design research design. The technique for obtaining samples was carried out through Simple Random Sampling. The final test in essay form is the instrument used. The process of proving the hypothesis of this research is through the use of the t-test. P-value = 0.028 < ? = 0.05, meaning ?0 is rejected. Then, a conclusion can be reached that the mathematical communication abilities of students who take part in the learning process using the TPSq type cooperative model are superior to the mathematical communication abilities of students who take part in the learning process using the direct learning model.Keywords– Mathematical Communication Abilities, Cooperative Learning Model Type Think Pair Square
