Understanding of mathematical concepts is one of goals that must be mastered by students in learning mathematics. However, based on thefact, understanding of mathematical concepts ability of students grade VIII SMPN 16 Padang is still low. One effort that can be done to over come this problem is by applying cooperative learning model make a match type. The purpose of this study is to describe whether the understanding of mathematical concepts of students wholearn with cooperative learning modelmake a matchtype is better than conventional learning. This research’s type is quasi experiment with static group design. Based on data analysis using t-test, it is obtained that P-Value = 0,000 < α = 0.05, then reject H0. Thus, it can be concluded that understanding of mathematical concepts of students using cooperative learning model make a match type is better than conventional learning. Understanding of mathematical concepts was one of a bilities that must be known by students. Based on the observation, understanding of mathematical concepts and learning activities of students in grade VII SMPN 12 Padang were still low and needed to be improved again, so that students could understand concepts well. Purpose of this study were to describe learning activities of students and to know whether student’s understanding ofmathematical conceptswho learned by using cooperative learning modelTTW type was better than those who learned by using conventional learning in grade VII SMPN 12 Padang. This study was a combination between descriptive study and quasi-experimental with static group design. Sampling was done by simple random sampling. Based on result of data analysis, it can be concluded that student’s understanding of mathematical concepts using cooperative learning model TTW type is better than those using conventional learning.Keywords –mathematical concepts, learning activities,think talk write.

The mathematical communication skills is one of the capabilities that must be possessed by each learners. This study aims to determine the effect of mathematical communication skills learning using think talk write type learning model with conventional learning. This type of research is a pseudo experiment with the design of research static group design. Data on the mathematical communication skills of learners were taken through the result of communication skills tests and analyzed by using U Mann Whitney test. The result showed that the mathematical communication skills of learners using the TTW type learning model is better than the conventional learning mathematical communication skills of learners using the conventional learning. Abstract Under standing of mathematical concept is basic ability that students have to posses,but in fact understanding of mathematical concept in SMPN 2 Padang grade VII is still low, it needs to be improved. In learning, teachers incline use teacher center learning. One attempt to overcome this problem is applied a learning model that can facilitate students to understanding the material and build their own knowledge. Learning model that can be applied is Cooperative Learning type Formulate Share Listen Create (FSLC). Type of the research is quasi experiment with Static Group Design. The purpose of this research is to describe the impact of this model for understanding of mathematical concept. Based on data analysis by using t test P-value = 0,019< ???? = 0,05, it can be conclude that under standing of mathematical concepts of students which study with cooperative type FSLC is better than conventional learning. This study aims to find out the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using Model Cooperative Learning Numbered Heads Together type is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 15 Padang. Type of research is Quasi-Experimental Research with the study design static group design. The study population was students of class VIII SMPN 15 Padang. Sampling techniques was random sampling, assigned to class VIII.7 as the experiment class and class VIII.6 as the control class. Instrument of research is a final test of students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Data analysis used U Mann Whitney test. Based on the data analysis test of understanding of mathematical concepts, obtained P-value = 0.0466 less than the 0,05 significance level. So it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using Model Cooperative Learning Numbered Heads Together type is better than the understanding of mathematical concepts students learn by using conventional learning. Thus, it can be said that there is influence of cooperative learning model Numbered Heads Together type to understanding mathematical concepts of students.Keywords : Understanding of Mathematical Concept, Numbered Heads Together, Conventional Learning

Understanding concepts of mathematics is one of cogn itive competences that student have to ownin learningmathematics. Studentswere expected to do some activities to build their knowledge. Students would understand the topicif they done so. In fact, students’ competences on understanding concepts of mathematics and activities in learningprocess are still low. One of efforts to overcome this problem is usingStudent Team Achievement Division (STAD) typeof cooperative learning model. Purpose of research is to describe students’ understanding of mathematical conceptsandlearning activities using STAD type of cooperative learning model and conventional learning. This research was aquasi experiment with static group design which applied to VIII.5 class as experiment class and VIII.6 class as controlclass. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that students’ understanding of mathematical conceptsusing STADtype of cooperative learning model is better than conventional learning and STAD type of cooperative learning modelalso give a good impact to increase learning activites of students.Keywords–cooperative learning,learning activities, STAD, understanding of mathematical concept

One of the cognitive abilities that is expected to be possessed by students in learning mathematics is understanding of mathematical concepts. However, it seen that the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts is still low, so it needs to be improved. One of learning models to improve the students’ understanding of mathematical concepts is MASTER learning model. Type of this research is quasy experiment with static group design, and also involved two sample classes. The experiment class study by applying MASTER learning model and control class study by applying conventional learning. The data were collected using a mathematical concepts comprehension test, and then analyzed using t test. Based on the results of data analysis, at significant level α = 0,05, obtained P-value = 0,028. P-value ˂ α, so H0 is refused. Hence, it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students that study by MASTER learning model is better than that study by conventional learning. Ability of mathematical understanding concepts is one of mathematics learning purpose. Observations which had been done in class X SMA Negeri 4 Solok showed that mathematics learning process was not able to improved students' mathematical understanding concepts optimally. This was cause by thelearning strategythat had not able to improved students' mathematical understanding concepts. One effort that could be done was to apply the Generative Learning Strategy. This type of research was descriptive and quasi-experimental with research design was Static Group Design. The results showed that the development of students‘s ability of mathematical understanding concepts after the implementation of generative learning strategy had increased. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis test results could be concluded that ability of students’s mathematical understanding concepts who learned by used generative learning strategy was better than students‘s ability of mathematical understanding concepts who learned by used conventional learning in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 4 Solok. Based on data analysis using t test, it can be concluded that students mathematical communication ability who learn by applying cooperative learning model TPS type is better than students who learn with conventional learning in grade VIII SMP Adabiah Padang.
