Abstract

The mathematical concept understanding  is one of the goals of mathematics learning that must be achieved by students through the process of learning mathematics. It is also basic of the other mathematical skills. But in fact learning activities in schools are not optimal in facilitating students to improve the mathematical concept understanding. One effort to overcome this problem is to apply the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) model. The purpose of this study is to describe whether the mathematical concept understanding of students who learn by using the TAI model are better than students who learn with direct learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental with the Static Group Design research design. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical concept understanding of students who learn to use the TAI model are better than students who learn with direct learning in class VIII SMPN 2 Lubuk Alung.  Keywords – Mathematical Concept Understanding, Team Assisted Individualization Model, Direct Learning

Abstract

Mathematics concepts understanding is very fundamental which should be owned by the students. However, in reality mathematics concepts understanding the student of SMPN 2 Payakumbuh first year still low and learning process had done yet. The solution applied was coperative leaning model NHT type. The purpouse of this researrch was to describe thee comparison off students’ mathematics concept understanding who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type to the students who studied with directly learning and to describe the progressing of students’ mathematics concepts understanding to the students who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type in grade VII SMPN 2 Payakumbuh. The type of this research is quasy experiment and descriptive which is using static group design research planning and t-test hypothesis evidence. It can be concluded that from the data analysis, for the level of , mathematics concepts understanding of students who studied with cooperative learning model NHT type were better than who studied with directly learning and students’ mathematics concepts understanding fluctuated in every meeting. Keywords – NHT (Numbered Heads Together), mathematics concepts understanding

Abstract

The ability of understanding mathematical concepts has a very important role needed in an effort to achieve the goals of mathematics learning. The ability to understand the concept should be developed through the learning process. However, mathematics learning that occurred in class VIII of SMP 2 Pariaman has not yet involved students optimally in the process of rediscovering the concept so that the ability of understanding mathematical concepts of students has not been well developed. In addition, the participation or active role of students in learning also seems to be lacking. This has an impact on the low ability to understand  the mathematical concepts of students. An alternative that can be used as a solution to overcome the above problems is learning using the cooperative learning model type TSTS. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Static Group Design. The research hypothesis is carried out using the t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the ability of understand mathematical concepts of students who learn with the cooperative learning model type TSTS is better than ability of understand mathematical concepts of students who learn with conventional learning.

Abstract

MathermaticalWcommunication ability is importantaaspect of  learningAmathematics. However, in factistudent’s mathematical communication ability in grade VII SMP Negeri 20 Padang was still low. Observationyshowed that student’s were less interest in mathematics learning wich was difficult and boring. One efforts that can be done-was applying cooperative learning model Think Pair Square type. Type of research was quasi experimentalpresearch with Randomized Control-Grup Only Design. Sampling wasudone by simple random sampling technique, Instrument waswfinal test student’s mathematical communication ability. Dataoanalysis used t test. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that student’s mathematical communication ability whonlearning by cooperative learning model think pair square type isabetter than directdinstruction. Keywords—Cooperative learning-model, type think pairpsquare, student’szability of mathematics communication.

Abstract

Mathematics  is  a  compulsory  subject  at  primary  and  secondary  education levels in Indonesia. However, several studies have concluded that mathematics is one of the subjects that students are less interested in. The low interest of students is due to the fact that most mathematics teachers still use conventional learning media in mathematics learning, especially in geometry. This happens due to the lack of teacher's ability to apply technology in mathematics learning, especially in geometry lessons. One effort that can be done is through community service aimed at Junior High School Mathematics teachers who  are  members  of  the  Junior  High  School  Mathematics  MGMP  in  Limapuluh  Kota Regency.  The  activity  of  developing  learning  tools  was  made  in  two  stages,  namely designing and building AR applications using Unity 3D. The modeling process uses the Blender application. Whereas Vuforia SDK to form AR and playmaker as programming. This  application  has  three  main  features  in  the  form  of  building  material,  tutorials,  and application guides. As an output, the user can provide input and the system will read the program according to the markers provided separately from the application. Based on the results of devotion activities that have been carried out it is concluded that digital props based  on  Augmented  reality  have  been  successfully  made  and  help  learning  in  the material of building.Keywords — through community service, Augmented reality, Blender application

Abstract

Oneeof the1cognitiveeabilitiessthat is expectedtto be possesseddby every students in learning mathematics  is  the  understanding  of  mathematical  concepts.  However,  the  fact  is  understanding  of mathematical  concepts  ofiistudents  in  grade  VIII3SMPN  13  Padang  is  still  low,  so  it  needs  to  be improved. One of the learning models to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts of students is  the  CORE  learning8model.  The  type  of  this  research  are  the  combination  of  quasy-experiment  and descriptive research with theiiStatic Group Design. Abstract

The mathematical communication skill is an important aspect and should be achieved in the learning of mathematics. The Importance of mathematical communication skill for students make this capability need to be improved in the learning process of mathematics. The observation results indicate that the mathematical communication skill of the students in SMPN 1 Lubuk Alung was still low. The method that can be applied to improve the mathematical communication skill of students is by applying cooperative learning Think Talk Write model. The type of research was quasy-experimental and descriptive with the randomized control group only design. The results of this research showed that  the development of mathematical communication skill of students whose during learning process using TTW model has increased, and mathematical communication skill of students whose learning process using TTW model is better than mathematical communication skill of students whose learning with direct learning.Keywords – Mathematical Communication Skill, Cooperative Learning Model, Think Talk Write.

Abstract

Understanding  the  concept  is  a  basic  ability  that  must  be  possessed  by  every  student.  But  in reality learning is still centered on the teacher, the teacher actively provides information to students, while students are still passive in learning. So that, it results in understanding of concepts and learning activities of  low  students.  One  of  the  efforts  made  to  improve  students'  understanding  of  concepts  is  to  apply  the Connecting  Organizing  Reflecting  Extending  (CORE)  learning  model.  The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to describe whether understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn by learning CORE is better than understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn by direct learning.Based on the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn using the CORE learning model is better than understanding concepts of students who learn by direct learning. Abstract

The ability of understanding mathematically concepts is one of the learning objectives that are expected to develop optimally on self-learners. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners whose learning model learning cycle 5E better than the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners whose learning using conventional learning in grade VII of SMPN 25 Padang. The research is a quasi experimental research design with Static Group Design. Based on the data analysis of the final test results showed that the significant level of 0.05 by t-test is obtained P-value = 0.044, because P-value < a then Ho is rejected. It shows that the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners use models learning cycle 5E better than the ability of understanding mathematically concepts learners with conventional learning in grade VII of SMPN 25 Padang. Abstract

This experimental research, which is implemented in SMPN 1 Canduang 7th grade academic of 2018/2019. Investigating the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by applying the cooperative learning model think pair share is the purpose of this research. After the research, it was found that the average score of mathematical communication skills of students who learned by applying the cooperative learning model think pair share was better than the average score of mathematical communication skills of students who studied with conventional learning.  Keywords – Cooperative learning, think pair share, mathematics communication
