One goal of mathematics learnings understanding mathematical concepts that are expected to be owned by students. But the reality is that in Adabiah 2 Senior High School Padang is still not optimal or still low. Learning strategies have not been able to improve the concepts of students. If understanding the concept is low, it will affect other mathematical abilities. The purpose of this research is and to know and describe whether the understanding of the concepts of students who learn with REACT strategies is better than understanding the concepts of students who learn with direct learning models in class XI MIPA SMA Adabiah 2 Padang and to know and describe the improvement in understanding of the concepts of learners who learn with REACT strategy. This type of research is quasy experiment and descriptive research design with Randomized Control Group Design. The population is class XI MIPA Adabiah 2 Padang High School with research samples namely class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 2. Research instruments in the form of quizzes and concept understanding tests. Data on the development of this ability is described through quiz results, while the test results are analyzed by t-test. Based on the quiz results obtained that the development of conceptual understanding increased with the REACT strategy, and based on the results of the test analysis it was found that the real level of α = 0.05 t-test obtained P-value = 0.00 because P-value < α, then H0 was rejected . This means that understanding the concepts of students who learn with REACT strategies is better than understanding the concepts of students who learn by direct learning models in class XI MIPA Adabiah 2 Padang High School in 2019/2020 Academic Year.Keywords – Mathematical Concept Understanding, REACT Strategy.

Abstract—.Problem solving capability is the goal of learning mathematics, but in reality the ability to solve the mathematical problem of participants is still low. The application of inquiry learning model is is one of the efforts that can be done to overcome the problem. The type of research used is quasy-experimental research with the research design of The Static Group Design. Based on the results of data analysis of the final test the research ,it was concluded that there is an influence on the application of inquiry learning model to the ability of mathematical students problem solving, so that mathematical problem solving skills of students who learn with inquiry learning model are better than those of mathematical problem solving skills of students who learn with the direct learning Model. his study aims to determine the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who learn with cooperative learning models of the NHT type is better than understanding the mathematical concepts of students who learn by direct learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 25 Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Static Group Design. The research sample is class VIII.3 as the experimental class and class VIII.2 as the control class. The instrument used was the final test of concept understanding in the form of essay questions. Data analysis used t-test. Based on the analysis of the final test results of understanding students' mathematical concepts, p-value is obtained = 0.019, because p-value <0.05 then H0 is rejected. This shows that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn with cooperative learning models of the NHT type is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who learn by direct learning.Keywords : Understanding Mathematical Concepts, Numbered Heads Together, Direct Learning..

Abstract Understanding mathematical concepts is one of the goals that must be mastered by students in learning mathematics. the reality of understanding the mathematical concepts of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 15 Padang is still low. In addition, students are less active in the learning process. Efforts that can be made to improve students' mathematical understanding of concepts are by applying the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model. This study aims to analyze and describe how the learning activities of students who applied the TSTS model and whether understanding mathematical concepts of students who learn by using the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model is better than understanding mathematical concepts Learners who learn by using conventional learning models in class VIII of SMP Negeri 15 Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Static Group Design. The research instrument was an observation sheet of students' activities and the final test was in the form of an essay which was analyzed using a non-parametric statistical test, the Mann-Whitney test. Based on statistical test analysis obtained P-value of 0.0078 smaller than the real level of 0.05, then Ho is rejected. That is, understanding mathematical concepts of students learning by using the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model is better than understanding mathematical concepts of students learning by using conventional learning models in class VIII of SMP Negeri 15 Padang. The development of science and technology today cannot be separated from the role of the mathematics. One of the main goals of mathematics in school is to train students in solving mathematical problems in everyday life. In the reality found at SMAN 4 Padang, students’mathematical problem solving abilities are still relatively low. This study looks at the effect of probing-prompting technique in mathematics learning to improve students’ mathematical problem solving abilities compared to direct learning that has been applied so far. The method used in this study is the quasi experiments method with the design of Randomized control Group Only Design. Based on data analysis the result of final test problem solving in the form of essays conclude the influence of probing-prompting technique resulted in the test result of students’ problem solving ability of the experimental class better than the control class. Based on observation at class XI IPA SMAN 7 Padang, it was found that students’ mathematical reasoning abilities were low. One of the reasons was the learning implementation was not optimal for training and improving mathematical reasoning skill well. The effort that can be used was implementing PBL model. The purpose of this study was to determine and describe wheter the mathematical reasoning ability that the learning applied PBL model was better than applying direct learning model. This type of research was quasy experiment with Randomized Control-Group Only Design. The population was students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 7 Padang while class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as a sample. The instrument used in this research was a mathematical reasoning ability test with essay questions. Analysis of student’s errors is an important thing to do to determine the mastery of student material. In fact, it was found that there were mistakes made by students of class VIII SMP N 7 Sijunjung in solving math problems with cubes and blocks. Based on the results of the study showed that students made a lot of mistakes including: 1) conceptual errors, that is students could not choose or apply the volume formula of cubes and beams, students were wrong in determining the formula for beam surface area and students did not write the formula for wall-shaped beam surface area, 2) procedural errors, that is students make mistakes in determining the steps in solving problems and students do not solve problems until the final results, 3) technical errors, that is students make mistakes in determining the value of arithmetic operations and wrong use of the math operations. The percentage of errors in class VIII-3 students of SMP N 7 Sijunjung in solving geometry problems of cube and block material was 60.34% with the biggest error being procedural error by 34.29% and the smallest error was tecnichal error by 2.86%. Concept understanding is a mathematics basic abilities that helps students improve other mathematics abilities for solve life problems. The test result in class X IPA SMA Adabiah Padang show that the understanding mathematics concept is low. This happens because the lack of students activity during the learning process. One solution is with use Think Talk Write (TTW) learning model. The research purpose is to describe student activities that learn by model TTW and describing whether understanding the mathematial concepts of students studying with TTW model is better than students who study conventionally. This study is a descriptive and quasi experiment with a static group design. Base on observation data analysis and final tests, student activity increase at think stage and fluctuates in others, and understanding mathematical concepts of students studying with TTW model is better than students who study conventionally in class X IPA SMA Adabiah Padang. Mathematical communication skill is one of the abilities that must be managed and owned by each student.Based on the results of observations and tests given, students' mathematical communication skill are lacking. One contributing factor is learning that has not been fully able to facilitate students to be able to develop their mathematical communication skills. The learning model that can facilitate students to improve their mathematical communication skills is cooperative learningmodels type Formulate, Share, Listen, And Create (FSLC). The purpose of this study was to determine and describe whether the mathematical communication skills of students who learn using cooperative learning models type FSLC is better than the mathematical communication skills of students who learn by using direct learning models in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that mathematical communication skills of students who study with cooperative learning models type FSLC is better than students who learn with direct learning models in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Tigo Nagari. One of the reasons is students are accustomed to working on the questions in accordance with the examples of the questions given and the learning used is less able to improve their reasoning abilities. Efforts that can be used are implementing students based on scientific approach. The purpose of this study is to determine and describe whether the ability of mathematical reasoning learning with the application of students based on scientific approach is better than the ability to solve mathematical reasoning with learning does not use student worksheets based on a scientific approach. This type of research is quasy experimental research design with Randomized Static Group Design. The study population was students of class VIII SMPN 2 Pariaman with a sample of VIII.4 chosen as experimental class VIII.5 as the control class. The instruments used were quizzes and tests of mathematical reasoning abilities.
