Abstract

The service quality felt by customers can be demonstrated even from the first timethe customer enters the restaurant area. This is the main key for customers to begin toassess whether the service in the destination restaurant is in accordance with service qualitystandards or not. As the culinary business grows, of course the owners must pay attention tothe quality of services so they don't compete. One of the developing culinary restaurants,Noodles X is one of the business people who helped enliven the Indonesian culinary market.The focus of this study is choosing aspects of hospitality, the selection of aspects ofhospitality is considered the first communication pattern received by customers, even whenentering the restaurant area. The method used in this study is observation. The observationdesign used is natural setting, participant observation and the method of recording using arating scale. The choice of using the rating scale method because of the observed behavior,researchers want to know the degree of quality of the behavior itself. Implementation ofobservations is divided into 30 days, with the calculation of the average results ofobservations at the weekend and the average observation results on weekday. Based onobservations made, it can be concluded that the level of friendliness in the communicationpractices of restaurant noodle employees is included in the class "very well". There areinteresting findings between the acquisition of friendliness level scores on weekdays and onweekends. The average score obtained from the five highest indicators is on weekends

Abstract

The standardization of the rules imposed strictly by Balai Pustaka in the Dutchcolonial era made it difficult for novel authors to convey messages that smelled ofResistance to the Dutch government. Novel Salah Asuhan written by Abdoel Moeis is oneof the novels published by the Balai Pustaka era, although it is often said that BalaiPustaka writers reinforce romance, but this research aims to see the forms of indigenousresistance to the colonial parties contained in the Salah Asuhan novel. The study usesconcepts in postcolonial theory namely mimicry and resistance which are used asspectacles of analysis, while the method used is a qualitative research method. Theprocedure in this method is to collect descriptive data in the form of words or events thatcan be observed. The data source in this study is a document. The document in questionis the novel Salah Asuhan by Abdoel Moeis published by Balai Pustaka in 1995. Researchfindings show that there are two forms of resistance used against the Dutch colonial.First, soft resistance or mimicry towards Dutch-style culture and knowledge systems,such as education, use of language, furniture, clothing, work, and marrying Westerners.The second resistance is absolute / firm resistance, shown in the rejection of Dutchcolonial practices which appear in the analogy of the Bird of the Garudadikotomibetween urban space (Batavia) and village (Padang) which represents modern / Westernand traditional / indigenous views.

Abstract

This documentary about the life of Ketoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya inYogyakarta. This group is in a critical condition like has minimize income from spectatorsand the actors receive low wages. The main message in this documentary is thededication and love of actors and spectators in an effort to preserve Tobong KelanaBhakti Budaya Ketoprak. Observational style was chosen as the style of deliveringmessages by showing the daily life of Ketoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya and theirinteractions with the audience. The script writer strengthens the dramatic element byusing the Dramatik Tension Brand Mathews structure that explains the journey of theKetoprak Tobong Kelana Bhakti Budaya story by having its own emphasis or tension(tension) in each part of the story. This conflict refers to the problem being discussed orfaced. A good arrangement of dramatic tension will prevent it from a monotonous andtedious situation. Script writer use special-general structures using thematic grooves.Futhermore, the visual is sodramatic so that the audience feels curious and reluctantuntil the end of this documentary.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe making of this work aims to describe the work of editors in films relating tothe post-production process, including Logging, Offline Editing, Online Editing, Mixing,Distribute. As for the background for the making of the short film "SRIHUNNINGKANTHIL", the local culture of Indonesia is still thick with the spiritual, mythical, andhumanistic aspects. To produce a work, especially film, editing technique becomes one ofthe important aspects that must be present. With image editing techniques, it will createa work that is sustainable with the story line for the creation of aesthetic value. Themethod used is observation and interview. At the observation stage the authors payattention to the screening screened by film communities and sharing with the filmmakerswho screened. The interview stage, the writer interviewed several figures, including akejawen expert who had some experience that he had experienced and also as a formerpalace man of the palace.In editing techniques include aspects of editing (graph continuity, rhythmic,spatial and temporal aspects), editing forms (cut, fade in / out, dissolve and wide), andediting continuity. The image editing process used in the short film "SRIHUNNINGKANTHIL" namely graphics, coloring, masking and subtittle. One of the image editingtechniques used is in scene 1, namely cut to, dissolve, and crosscutting. Dissolve is atransition effect, while moving to the next scene uses the cut technique. Film is one artthat is different from other arts. Because it stands from several elements of literary arts,theater arts, fine arts, sound, music, and architecture. Film editing is an important thingin film because film editing is a high and key art of the final productions of filmproduction. Image editing technique is one of the important editing processes to producean aesthetic work that can be enjoyed by connoisseurs of art.Keywords: Work, Film, Editing, Continuity

Abstract

The digital age allows anyone to easily access the internet through a smartphoneat any time and place. Young people who consider the phase are still in the process ofcharacter formation, relatively open to changes from the outside tend to be dynamic.The conception of young people who are active, dynamic and sensitive to changes in thisstudy above discussion of young people who use smartphones not only supportscommunication, but also helps other things that can be interpreted in accordance withcultural cooperation that produces new cultural meaning. This study aims to gain anunderstanding of the meaning of smartphones for its users, namely young people inKarawang. This study uses consideration of technological determination that emphasizesthe aspect of subjectivity as smartphone users on the meaning of the communicationtools they mean in their lives.

Abstract

It cannot be avoided that communication is the most essential need in every aspectof human’s life. No matter what the field or where the activity is, it is human whose alwayscommunicate to express what they want, or at least, what they think. One of communicationfield which has increasement in its interraction level lately is politics, and the activity whombecome its trigger is the presidential debate. The purpose of this research is to give a pictureabout the reaction given from the millennial generation toward their social media based ontheir mind pattern, whether his position as an individual or a group’s member, with 2019Election Debate as a medium of informational exchange.This will discuss about the summaries about Election Debate results, millennialpublic’s judgement about a serial of its activities into their social media, either their positionas individuals or as the member of a social group and the implementation of their behaviorbased on their judgement. This research using the phenomenology theory as major theorysupported by the combination between technology determinism theory with transactionalanalysis theory as minor theories. The result from this research shows that the social mediaas digital comunication media has a powerful role and influence to the millennial public asone of vital element in giving the judgement to the presidential candidates’ vision, mission,and work program implementation which is served in the 2019 Election Debates.
