Abstract

Stunting is a global health problem affecting 165 million children around the world. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia reached 21.6% in 2021. Four children were identified as stunted (12.1%), and 29 were normal (87.9%) in PAUD Adelwais in March-April 2023. Moringa leaves are one intervention that can be used to prevent stunting. Moringa oleifera (Moringa plant) is a widely and easily cultivated plant in Indonesia with the potential to be an ergonomic, cheap, and nutritious supplemental food. Many communities have widely used Moringa plants. The research aimed to determine the efficacy of Moringa leaf pudding in preventing child stunting. A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test approach was used as the research design. A total sample of 33 children were selected as respondents to the survey. The research results show that the consumption of Moringa leaf pudding effectively increases the height and weight of the children significantly, with a p-value of 0.000 ( 0.05). However, there was no statistically significant change in the body mass index with a p-value of 0.310 ( 0.05). There is a decrease in the prevalence of stunting in the PAUD Adelwais children, which decreased to 2 children (6.1%). Conclusion: Pudding with Moringa leaves is an effective intervention for preventing stunting in children.

Abstract

The physiological process of menstruation, which happens periodically in women, has been impacted by reproductive hormones, specifically progesterone and estrogen. Dysmenorrhea, or pain during menstruation, is one of the issues with teenage reproductive health during that time. The purpose of the research was to identify the variables associated with primary dysmenorrhea. This type of study was quantitative, with an analytic survey method and a cross-sectional approach in which the research data used primary data This study used 72 samples to represent the population of female junior high school students. The chi-square test was the data source. The study's findings a correlation between primary dysmenorrhea and physical activity (p value 0.005), menarche age (p value 0.033), and nutritional status (p value 0.044). The incidence of primary dysmenorrhea among female students at SMP Negeri 2 Mesuji in 2023 was shown to be correlated with physical activity, age at menarche, and dietary status. Adolescents should take responsibility for the key modifiable dysmenorrhea causes, like exercise routines and nutritional status, by learning more and adopting a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

The weight of the newborn is a risk factor for perineal tearing when spontaneously delivered. This is because the perineum is not strong enough to withstand stretching of the baby's head when the baby weighs a considerable amount. According to the data obtained from Talang Public Health Center, in the number of births in January - October 2021, 28% of mothers experienced perineal rupture during vaginal delivery. This study aimed to determine the relationship between newborn weight and the incidence of perineal rupture. A quantitative with a correlational design was used in this research. The data was collected from January to May 2022 in Talang Public Health Center. The sample used in this research was 119 mothers who gave birth. We used secondary data and analyzed it using SPSS with the chi-square statistical test. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between the birth weight of the baby and the incidence of perineal rupture in Talang Health Center with the value of p = 0.650 α = 0.05. This may be due to other factors such as maternal, fetal, birth, and birth assistance factors. Hopefully, this research will provide health workers and the community with knowledge so pregnant women can have regular ANC visits to monitor fetal development.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional status cases experienced by most toddlers worldwide. WHO 2020 revealed that Indonesia is the second country in Asia with the highest prevalence of 31.8% of stunting problems in toddlers. Several factors cause toddlers to experience stunting, including indirect factors, namely socioeconomic status. The socioeconomic status of the residents of Ngalang on the incidence of stunting toddlers aged 12-60 months was found to be 40 toddlers short and 6 toddlers very short. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between socioeconomic status and the incidence of stunting in Ngalang Gunungkidul. This type of quantitative research uses a cross-sectional design. Population 85 parents of toddlers 12-60 months with stunting conditions. The sample was obtained using the Solvin method: 46 parents of stunted toddlers who met the inclusion criteria. After the Spearmen rho test was obtained, many members in the family p=0.019; of many children of the family, p=0.010, the father's educational status is p=0.058, the mother's educational status is p=0.025, and the monthly income in the family p=0.023. There is Stunting is a prevalent nutritional issue among toddlers globally. The results showed a significant relationship between family size, number of children, mother's educational status, family income, and stunting in toddlers. However, no significant relationship was found between the father's educational status and stunting, suggesting the need for further research on the father's role. Preventative measures include participating in premarital classes and prioritizing a child's growth and development through proper nutrition, parenting, healthcare, and environmental sanitation.Keyword: Socioeconomics, Stunting, toddlers
