Abstract

Salafis are language means ' those who preceded or life before the age of our' start to the prophet Muhammad, Companions , and Successors tabiit , to be guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah, the term Salafi adopted followers of Muhammad Abdullah ibn Wahhab to distinguish the term majlis taklim or study sunna , ulama or cleric sunna , the study of other not in their perspective considered toulama or cleric heresy even perverse, congregants are prohibited following the study were considered heretics. This Study focus on masjid Salafi at Jl. Botoh Putih 11 No. 17 and at Masjid Jami’ Bendul Merisi Surabaya. This Study find how salafi use the Islamic traditional term in Indonesia majlis taklim as their program to campaign their salafi perspective to the large audiences.

Abstract

One of the major themes in educational effectiveness research is school capacity building. This study investigates the implementation of the International Standard School (SBI) policy in Indonesia which can be seen as an effort of school capacity building improvement in the particular country. Using the program coherence dimension from the capacity-building framework, a qualitative study was conducted in a secondary school located in a small city in West Java, Indonesia, that involved in the program. It is found that the interpretation of the SBI policy was changing, which established international standard classrooms is the salient aspect of the implementation of the policy. It is discovered that becoming an SBI school has positive consequences with regard to the acknowledgment of its quality by the central government, besides the school can collect extra funds from parents with an amount nearly ten times that received from the central government. Document analysis reveals the school's difficulties to reach international requirements with particular to master in English by its teachers.

Abstract

Pesantren in Indonesia are a representation of Nusantara Islam which prioritizes tolerance, affirms Islam rahmatan lil 'alamin, with the ideology of tawazun, tawasuth, tasamuh, and i`tidal. Pesantren are ready to provide solutions to the community and are ready to spearhead the cultural Islamic movement and the power of civil society by combining traditional religious knowledge with modern science. Education in pesantren is provided by a representative cleric or kiai who becomes a mentor teacher and role model for students in life. Pesantren education is organized in an orderly manner and takes a long time so that students can gain an in-depth understanding of the essence of everything, making it easier to distinguish between right and wrong. Pesantren since its inception have been very close to the community, because this institution was founded based on a community approach. The presence of pesantren is a carriage that guards the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is full of multi-racial, ethnic, religious and cultural aspects. The concept of indigenizing Islam in the archipelago has become a jargon for pesantren that must be preserved so that Indonesia, which is multi-religious and cultural, remains safe and does not fall apart. From this short article, the writer wants to see how Islamic boarding schools see and behave towards the problem of religious plurality in Indonesia, which in fact cannot be denied.

Abstract

The tradition of tahfidz (memorizing the Koran) is exist since the time of the Prophet Muhammad. which the Prophet had exemplified with his companions. In Indonesia itself, the journey of the tahfidz tradition goes through three main periods, namely pre-independence, post-independence to the Reformation era (MTQ 1981). In pre-independence, there were 5 sanad that had a role in the spread of tahfidz al-Qur'an and were a source of hufadz in tahfidz institutions/pesantren, including KH. Muhammad Said bin Ismail Sampang, Madura, KH. Munawaar from Sidayu, Gresik, Muhammad Mahfudz at-Tarmasi. Termas Pacitan, KH. Muhammad Munawwir Krapyak, Yogyakarta and KH. M. Dahlan Khalil from Rejoso, Jombang. After independence, a new Tahfidz institution emerged, which was pioneered by KH. Muntaha (1912-2004 AD) Pesantren Al 'Asy'ariyah Wonosobo-Central Java and KH. Yusuf Junaidi (1921-1987) Bogor. Over time, the Tahfidz Institute was formed after the Musabaqah Hifdzil Quran (MHQ) developed on the islands of Java and Sulawesi, so since 1981 until now almost all regions in the archipelago.

Abstract

This article discusses the architectural art of pesantren in Indonesia, especially in the art of spatial planning. The spatial art of pesantren is influenced by needs and a sense of beauty. In general, the need for a pesantren room is used for worship, diniyah, school, and a resting place for students. Along with the times, pesantren began to fulfill facilities to support the needs and creativity of the students by building health rooms, sports fields, canteens, and even mini markets. In addition, architecture is also a part of art, because architecture cannot be separated from taste. The research method used in this article is library research. The research subjects were taken from several samples that could represent pesantren in Indonesia. The results of the study found six types of pesantren , namely: Type A, the physical facilities consist of mosques and kyai's houses; Type B, physical facilities in the form of a mosque, kyai's house, dormitory; Type C or salafi pesantren, physical facilities such as Type B plus school institutions; Type D or modern pesantren, pesantren have undergone a very significant transformation both in the education system and institutional elements and are very concerned about developing the talents and interests of students; Type E, namely pesantren that do not have formal educational institutions, but provide opportunities for students to study at the level of formal education outside the pesantren; and Type F or Ma'had Aly, this type is usually found in religious colleges

Abstract

The curriculum as a planned program to combine the scope, sequence, interpretation, balance of subject matter teaching techniques into a series of teaching activities. In the 2013 curriculum program, the Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional (RPJMN) for 2010-2014 mandates the need for a realignment of the current curriculum. This study wants to explore the history of the 2013 curriculum in the context of spiritual skills. To answer this, the researchers conducted a literary research. This study found that in essence the factors behind the changes in the 2013 curriculum were: 1) The challenges of the times and the demands of maintaining morals. 2) Maximum efforts to build a whole person 3) Efforts to maximize the achievement of educational goals 4) Cultural roots and efforts to knit Indonesia 5) Respond to internal challenges 6) Respond to external challenges 7) Introduction to curriculum governance and material arrangement. Spiritual implementation in the 2013 curriculum is carried out by means of self-awareness to learn from the scientific stages of spiritual bayani, spiritual irfani and spiritual burhani. The study of spiritual bayani is a study of the spirituality of the Koran and hadith based on logical thinking or a rational approach.

Abstract

Islamic religious education todays is faced with various situations, in fact, Nowdays, there are many faces of Islam; violenes, coercive, and unacceptable to differences, this is very contrary to the socio-culture and geographical area of ​​the very diverse Indonesian society. Therefore, today the face of education in accordance with what our predecessors have taught us in the form of spreading Islam with cultural assimilation in the archipelago needs to be applied in the world of education. This article is a literary research on the process of Islamization on the island of Java. The author finds that a peaceful education teaching pattern that respects the diversity of Indonesian society needs to be applied to students to create a moderate Islamic character.
