Abstract

Digital activities dominate the acquisition, dissemination, and reproduction of information, causing the rise of hoax information due to the lack of digital literacy and wise use of the internet. One of the steps is through Digital Literacy, one of which is on PKK cadres. They have an important role in the family and community as influential agents to spread digital literacy in the family and surrounding community. Through a service learning approach, with five stages of social planning, namely problem identification, goal setting, program planning, program implementation and program evaluation. The results of assistance through UNS cooperation in collaboration with SEAN International Deakin University Australia to PKK cadres in Pucangan Kartasura village, Sukoharjo, Central Java. The results of this community partnership program show a significant positive impact on the PKK mothers' knowledge and skills in managing information from digital sources. Improved digital literacy skills encourage mothers to become digital literacy advocates in their families and communities and become an important step in combating the spread of hoax information at the grassroots level.

Abstract

The ornamental fish business is currently one of the popular businesses in the community. The relatively fast reproduction cycle, around 0.5 – 1.5 months, with a relatively high selling price, makes this ornamental fish business much in demand by the public. The maximum utilization of technology will help MSMEs in increasing their income. This service activity aims to build a LoRaWAN-based IoT system for ornamental fish farming along with a mobile-based ornamental fish monitoring application to help manage ornamental fish livestock, which ultimately has an impact on improving the quality of ornamental fish and the income of CV Home Aquafish partners. The method utilizes a service-learning approach through stages: Identify, design, and build a LoRaWAN-based IoT and mobile-based monitoring system, implementing, mentoring, and measuring the effectiveness of the LoRaWAN device in improving the quality of ornamental fish and the income of CV Home Aquafish partners. As a result, LoRaWAN can effectively help minimize mortality in ornamental fish seedlings so that the quality of the fish is maintained. The income of CV Home Aquafish's ornamental fish nursery partners in Kalipaten Village, Gading Serpong, Tangerang also increases.

Abstract

Violence against women/children (VaW/C) has bio-psycho-socio-economic impacts. The Pedak community has not been exposed to efforts for violence prevention, although some VaW/C cases have arisen. Hence, this community service aimed to increase public awareness to prevent and reduce VaW/C. The approach Community-Based Resilience is carried out through a cycle of action research, including diagnosing, planning, action, and evaluation in Padukuhan Pedak, Trimurti, Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta Province. Observation of the community conditions and in-depth interviews with community leaders were used in the diagnosing stage. The action stage includes three priority actions: VaW/C education for community representatives (a quasi-experiment), VaW/C education in children's reading corners, and youth Posyandu coaching. These activities increased public knowledge and reactivated community activities to prevent and overcome societal violence. Multisector role involvement and a multifaceted approach are needed to increase community awareness of VaW/C and assist them in designing applicable and sustainable programs.

Abstract

The Early Childhood Education Curriculum should always be thoughtfully tailored to contextual conditions. For institutions situated in coal mining regions, an environmentally-based curriculum becomes imperative to address the ongoing exploitation of the environment. However, it has come to light that Early Childhood Education institutions in coal mining areas have not aligned their curricula with these contextual considerations. In response to this discrepancy, a Participatory Action Research (PAR) initiative was undertaken by a team of researchers in collaboration with mentor subjects, who are Early Childhood Education teachers in the Hatungun, Binuang, Tapin Selatan, and Salam Babaris Districts. The overarching goal was to rectify this less-than-ideal situation. The series of PAR activities proved to be transformative, leading to the graduation of 38 community members equipped with the ability to design, implement, and evaluate environment-based Early Childhood Education practices. This achievement represents a significant step toward nurturing a generation of educators who can effectively engage with the unique challenges of coal mining regions, fostering sustainable and responsible approaches to education that align with the local environmental context. Ultimately, it paves the way for a more harmonious relationship between early childhood education and the environment, contributing to the broader goal of mitigating environmental exploitation.

Abstract

The management and development of Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten (TK ABA) Cairo is still needs to be improved. Meanwhile, currently the ABA Cairo Kindergarten is the only Indonesian private kindergarten in Egypt and is a reference for early childhood education for the Indonesian people in Cairo. The fundamental problem faced by ABA Cairo Kindergarten is that it doesn’t have a standard curriculum document that promotes the advantages and characteristics of the stake holders in the education unit. The purpose of this International Collaborative Community Service (PkM-KI) activity is to assist in the preparation of curriculum documents that are adapted to the spirit of an independent curriculum. This PkM implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, by actively involving partners in the participation and action dimensions. The target for the implementation of this PkM is the compilation of the ABA Cairo Kindergarten curriculum document. The result of this PkM KI is the arrangement of curriculum document which was legalized by the competent authority. Abstract

Applying the zero-waste concept is needed so that waste management in urban areas is not only more environmentally friendly. It's no longer just a trend, but this zero-waste has developed into a norm among the millennial generation in Indonesia. This service aims to strengthen environmentally friendly behaviour through sorting organic and inorganic waste and training in recycling inorganic waste into valuable products. The method used Participatory Action Research (PAR). This service found that students at PPAI An-Nahdliyah responded positively to environmentally friendly behaviour by sorting waste and received high creativity in recycling plastic bottle waste into valuable products, such as flower bouquets, pencil cases, etc. However, the sustainability of this program still needs to be improved. Therefore, this service recommends continuously improving students' resources to behave environmentally friendly and utilize their waste through reduction, reuse or recycling so that a zero-waste lifestyle is formed and supervision between each PPAI An-Nahdliyah student.

Abstract

The Partner Farmers are increasingly experiencing a reduction in livestock feed resources in their environment over time. This is due to the conversion of lands, where these feed resources used to grow, into residential areas. Such conditions have made it somewhat challenging for the farmers to find adequate livestock feed. Additionally, the farming practices have not fully embraced technology for management. These conditions have led to a qualitative decline in the productivity of cattle, particularly in terms of body weight, even though the population has increased quantitatively. The objectives of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) are as follows: To establish a robust institution and ensure that the cattle are legally registered with the relevant department; To enhance farmers' understanding of cattle reproduction, including the ability to recognize estrus, productive age, and post-mating care; and to provide knowledge and skills to the partners regarding the production of Urea Molasses Blocks. The approach involves three methods: Lectures and discussions, Demonstration plots, and activity evaluation. The results of this PKM show that the partners' knowledge has improved, especially in the areas of livestock reproduction and the development of new Urea Molasses Blocks (UMB) feed.
