Abstract

Cartilage in the knee of the foot will gradually thin out with age and increase the load on the footstool. The cartilage in the knee is called the meniscus which is useful for protecting the surrounding bones from rubbing against each other when moving. When the meniscus thin and rub against each other will cause pain and the sound of crepitus when walking. Pain is an uncomfortable condition due to physical stimulation that is channeled to the brain followed by physical to emotional reactions. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease that causes decreased joint motion due to pain. This joint disorder most commonly occurs in the knee. Warm ginger compress therapy will make blood vessels widen or open and blood circulation to be smooth. The method of making this literature is in the form of a descriptive approach that looks for various journals or research articles with the same research theme. The results obtained with 10 journals, with the same discussion. Where in several journals get results that are proven to be effective. It can be concluded that warm ginger compresses are effective for reducing pain in osteoarthritis.

Abstract

Nematodes are the cause of filariasis. Tissue nematodes as the cause of lymphatic filariasis are 3 species, namely Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, Brugia timori.1 Lymphatic filariasis is the second largest cause of long-term disability, namely lymphedema of the extremities (elephantiasis) and hydrocele, especially in the tropics.2 Wolbachia bacteria are found in Onchocercidae, the family of filarial nematodes, including species that cause filarial disease in humans such as lymphatic filariasis and onchocerciasis. The symbiosis of Wolbachia and Onchocercidae shows that Wolbachia bacteria play a role in the treatment of filarial parasitic infections by using antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline or rifampicin causing growth retardation and embryogenesis. 4 The long term use of antibiotics is feared to cause resistance to bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to use antibiotics with a shorter time.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a global public health problem where the prevalence and incidence of CKD is increasing every year. According Indonesian Renal Registry in 2016 , about 60% of CKD underwent dialysis in the form of hemodialysis (98%) and peritoneal dialysis (2%). The deaths of hemodialysis patients during 2015 were 1,243 people with the most cause of death is cardiovascular (41%), and unknown (30%). The purpose of this study was to determine the causes of death in the first year of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis. This study was a descriptive and analytic study with a cross sectional approach. Collecting data by looking at the patient's medical record. The number of samples is 46 people, the sample uses the total sampling method. Univariate data analysis to see the distribution of patient profiles, bivariate analysis with Chi square test and multivariate analysis using logistic regression to see the relationship between variables. The results of the analysis showed that the factors associated with death in the first year of kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis were age (p=0.03) and vascular access (p=0.000). The first year of chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis is age and vascular access.

Abstract

Knowledge of glaucoma is significant for medical students and later establishes a diagnosis and initial treatment when becoming a doctor. The incidence of glaucoma has increased in the last decades with the increase and the age of the population. This study aims to determine the glaucoma knowledge among the clerks of the FKIK UKRIDA 2020. This study used descriptive research with a cross-sectional. The sampling technique used the total sampling method. This study found that students had sufficient/moderate knowledge (65.1%) about glaucoma, primarily obtained orally from lectures, and some were also obtained by reading literature or textbooks. There is no specific comparison of student age affecting the level of knowledge about glaucoma. Respondents aged 22 to 29 years have varying levels of expertise, from moderate to good knowledge levels. Meanwhile, based on gender, most women have a good level of knowledge (39.%) compared to men (25.4%). In this study, the distribution of respondents was aged 26 years (22.2%), and most of the respondents were female (63.5%). From the results of the study, it was concluded that respondents with a moderate level of knowledge were 65.1%. More respondents and a wider range of students are needed for further research.

Abstract

A person's attitude in the work environment, such as sitting, squatting and standing, is often associated with the appearance of low back pain (LBP), but prolonged standing have not been widely discussed in Indonesian journal media. This literature study conducted a search for research articles in the PubMed and Google Scholar journal databases. There were 6 journals which stated that prolonged standing was significantly related to LBP, but 2 other journals stated otherwise. Prolonged standing that exceed 20 minutes can put stress on the posterior muscles of the body and the joints of the vertebral column, especially in the lumbar region which can cause LBP with varying levels and quality of pain. The existence of work factors such as workload, length of work, work attitude, tool assistance, and the number of hours of rest, as well as personal factors, such as age, smoking, gender and BMI, can also influence the appearance of LBP in a person, so that someone who has a longer tenure is at greater risk of experiencing LBP than someone who has a new tenure. These factors can potentially bias research results if they are not carefully prepared.

Abstract

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by Novel Coronavirus (nCoV). This virus easily infects the population of vulnerable groups and pregnant women are one of them. To prevent transmission, the procurement of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in Indonesia led to limited maternal and neonatal care health services. Fearing an increase in morbidity and mortality of mothers and newborns. Research on pregnancy and outcomes of newborns with COVID-19 is stil limited so the authors reviewed the picture of pregnant women with COVID-19 and the outcome of babies at Mitra Husada Pringsewu Hospital for the period 2020-2021.This study uses retrospective descriptive, cross sectional methods by tracing the medical record data of pregnant women with COVID-19 infection who gave birth at Mitra Husada Pringsewu Hospital. Most mothers are in the age range of 20-35 years and have given birth more than once. Births are predominantly by section caesarean section 70%, and only 23.3% of mothers have comorbid disease. Birth weight and APGAR scores are dominated by normal but 6.3% of babies have very poor grades of APGAR. Babies are born 62.5% aterm, and almost all babies show negative results of COVID-19.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the main non-communicable diseases in Indonesia. Stroke data in Indonesia shows a continuous increase, both in terms of incidence, disability, or death. Stroke is a syndrome consisting of signs and or symptoms of focal or global loss of function of the central nervous system that develops rapidly (within seconds or minutes). These symptoms last for more than 24 hours or cause death, originating from impaired cerebral blood flow and not caused by transient cerebral blood circulation disorders, brain tumors, secondary strokes due to trauma or infection. Based on the pathogenesis, stroke is divided into two, including infarct and hemorrhagic stroke. Stroke can be classified according to the etiology or the basis of the course of the disease. Stroke infarction has two risk factors, namely modifiable and non-modifiable. The risk of stroke can increase if you have an unhealthy lifestyle such as eating foods high in cholesterol and high in lipids, lack of exercise, and lack of physical activity. Atherosclerosis is a plaque on the walls of the arteries so that there will be a narrowing of the lumen of the blood vessels. Investigations that can be done with carotid Doppler ultrasound.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a disease that attacks the respiratory system with risk factors in the form of age, gender, and comorbid diseases. In addition, COVID-19 can affect oxygen saturation levels. Oxygen saturation is an indicator of oxygenation status by looking at the percentage of oxygen content in the arteries that binds to hemoglobin. The normal value for oxygen saturation is 95-100%. Objective to knowing the description of oxygen saturation of research respondents before treatment and before being discharged from UKRIDA Hospital which is influenced by age, gender and comorbid diseases. This study used a consecutive sampling method with a cross sectional design. There were 96 subjects who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was carried out using medical record data for the period January 1, 2021 to July 31, 2021. The results of data analysis using Chi-square with the results obtained that age and comorbid diseases have a relationship with changes in oxygen saturation levels (p-value <0.05). Meanwhile, gender had no relationship to changes oxygen saturation levels . There is a relationship between age and comorbid disease with changes in oxygen saturation levels before being discharged from UKRIDA Hospital with an average oxygen saturation of 97%.
