Abstract

Urban geographic areas that are far from surface water resources cause the availability of groundwater to be limited. Groundwater is the main source of water for urban communities today, however, groundwater does not always exist. Groundwater search continues with the old method which takes a long time. In this study, a groundwater search using a satellite imaging method is proposed to create work effectiveness and a faster time. This study aims to analyze the underground water reservoir in Tampan District using GRACE satellite data in the form of variations in total water storage and correlated with in-situ data. The method used is in the form of total water storage variation modeling in the form of multiple linear regression equations. Parameters that influence the modeling of total water storage variations are rainfall, evaporation, and run-off. The classical assumption test and model feasibility test are used to determine the parameter accuracy in data estimation. The results showed that the multiple linear regression model passed the assumption test and the model feasibility test. The value of the run-off coefficient is greater than the value of the precipitation coefficient. This is because Tampan District has sandy clay rock types and decreasing green open land, so the potential for groundwater loss in the Tampan District area is 1,180,326.63 m3/month.

Abstract

In this paper, an ultrasonic non-destructive test (NDT-UT) has been carried out on steel using the Simulink-MATLAB Mathematica computation method. This study aims to analyze the NDT-UT output signal for material defect detection using secondary data as the first sample. The sample is then analyzed using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) method to produce a spectrum waveform and image thermography. It can be seen that there is a decrease in signal height from 1 a.u to 0.55 a.u. The first sample waveforms were used to analyze the second sample, third sample, and fourth sample, and all the samples had different defects. The results of the sample analysis are in the form of a thermographic image that shows the temperature level based on the distribution of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) images on the sample surface. The NDT-UT output signal produces a sinusoidal wave similar to the results of the Simulink-MATLAB modeling analysis on the initial input echoes and the back wall, with a percentage inequality of 10%. Then validated the sinusoidal signal from the NDT-UT which gave a percentage of inequality between 0% – 42%. More complex or irregular defects result in a larger percentage or vice versa.

Abstract

The ferroelectric thin film material of barium zirconium titanate (BZT) on the fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate was successfully prepared using the sol-gel method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of crystal size on the variation of holding time. The lattice parameter data has a value of a = b of 3.918 Å and for c it is 4.01 Å. The results of this study indicate that the crystal structure of BZT is tetragonal because the lattice parameter has the same values a and b but not equal to c. To obtain the bandgap energy, a thin film plot method of Ba(Zr0.5Ti0.5)O3 was used at a temperature of 700°C with a holding time of 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 hour 30 minutes, and 2 hours. The optical thin layer bandgap energy of Ba(Zr0.5Ti0.5)O3 was calculated using the Tauc plot. The absorbance values obtained were 3.277, 3.0654, 3.323, and 3.424 a.u. The maximum transmission (TM) occurs at 1 hour holding time which gives a percentage of TM1 44.477% and TM2 20.568%. While the 2 hour hold time gives a minimum transmission (Tm) of Tm1 10.859% and Tm2 7.759%, respectively.

Abstract

This Study discusses life insurance for life with a uniform assumption method. The purpose of this study is to calculate the annual premium that must be paid by life insurance participants. This research was conducted at the General Insurance Group company, which is located on the street Arifin Ahmad, Pekanbaru City, Indonesia. To determine the annual life insurance premium, the interest rate and discount factor, initial lifetime annuity, single premium, and the annual premium. After doing the research, the results of the calculation of the annual premium for life insurance for life using uniform assumptions for each participant life insurance are different. The amount of annual life insurance premiums uses a uniform assumption that is smaller than the annual life insurance premiums obtained from insurance companies.

Abstract

The exchange rate of the rupiah (IDR) to the Australian dollar is the price of one rupiah translated to the Australian dollar. Weakening or decreasing prices of the Rupiah to the Australian dollar are influenced by various factors, such as government policies and expectations. Therefore, the government or related parties must be careful in predicting the value of the rupiah exchange rate to the currency of the state, such as the Australian dollar. This report will discuss the prediction of the rupiah exchange rate to the Australian dollar for 223 days from December 2018 to July 2019 using the Chen fuzzy time series method. The results of this report are the prediction of the value of the exchange rate of the rupiah to the Australian dollar in December 2018 to July 2019 is be again in the interval 10,450 IDR to 10,920 IDR.

Abstract

The maritime radar is a mobile station used by ships to cover large areas in Indonesian waters. Maritime radar is used to monitor Indonesia's marine waters. One of the maritime radar subsystems is the antenna. The antenna emits the electromagnetic waves into the air to detect an object. In this study, a 1 × 4 circular patch array microstrip antenna is proposed. This antenna is applied to maritime radar working in the frequency range of 2.2 – 4.2 GHz that are allocated by the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. From the simulation results, the proposed antenna provides a return loss of -66.29 dB, and a gain of 7.14 dB at 3.2 GHz.

Abstract

BCH-algebra is a non-empty set with the binary operation * and the constant 0, and statisfying the certain axioms. A mapping of d from X to itself is said to be a derivation in BCH-algebra if d is both (l, r)-derivation and (r, l)-derivation in BCH-algebra, where X is BCH-algebra. This article discusses the concepts of (l, r)-(f, g)-derivation, (r, l)-(f, g)-derivation, and (f, g)-derivation in BCH-algebra, and investigates the properties (l, r)-(f, g)-derivation, (r, l)-(f, g)-derivation and (f, g)-derivation in BCH-algebra.

Abstract

Biomass dryer (BD) was a useful device to improve the time efficiency of drying activities in traditional systems. The fuel source of biomass can be obtained from agricultural wastes, such as corn cobs and coconut shells. The classic problem of BD is the inhomogeneous temperature inside the chambers, which leads to damage to the product if the air circulation is not controlled. This study utilizes an electronic controller to automatically manage airflow by a fan and open the window to obtain a homogenous temperature in each chamber. The window will be opened instantly if the temperature inside the chambers exceeding 46°C. This testing sample product is a cracker, locally called ‘krupuk’.  Cracker is made from tapioca flour and dried for several days after cutting processes. Our previous test successfully improves time efficiency in drying the post-harvest agricultural product. The proposed dryer consists of cabinet with 3 chambers, an open fire drum, a couple of automatic windows, and an electronic board as a controller. The resulting test shows a homogenous temperature average for the 3 chambers is 50°C.

Abstract

BP-algebras is a non-empty set (X, *, 0) with the binary operation “*” satisfies the axioms (BP1) x * x = 0, (BP2) x * (x * y) = y, (BP3) (x * z) * (y * z) = x * y for all x, y, z = X . In this paper, we define the concept of (l, r) and (r, l) t-derivation in BP-algebra and investigate their properties. Based on the concepts of (l, r) and (r, l) t-derivation in BP-algebra, the properties of t-derivation in BP-algebra are constructed.
