Abstract

This article discusses a community service program in the form of a socialization activity on the role of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and Village Cadres in addressing stunting issues for PKK members, village cadres, and the community in Purang Mese, Compang Ndejing Village, Borong District, East Manggarai Regency. This activity is motivated by the importance of PKK and village cadres understanding their main duties and functions in tackling stunting. This program aims to raise awareness among PKK members and village cadres regarding their roles and responsibilities. The methods used include observation, simulation, evaluation, and feedback. The activity was held on April 11, 2025, involving PKK administrators, village cadres, and the local community. The materials provided covered the definition of stunting, the duties and functions of PKK and village cadres, core PKK and cadre programs, the role of PKK and village cadres in addressing stunting issues, and joint strategies.

Abstract

This article discusses a community service program implemented in Compang Ndejing Village, Borong District, East Manggarai Regency, with the aim of reactivating social media as a means of tourism promotion. Social media has become an important tool in disseminating information quickly and attractively, especially in introducing local tourism potential. Through mentoring and creating digital content, the community is encouraged to be actively involved in tourism promotion. The results show an increase in social media interaction, community involvement, and a stronger promotional narrative. This activity proves that good social media management can contribute to improving the image of tourist villages and supporting local economic growth. The method of implementing community service includes several important stages, but for a more systematic academic presentation. The stages of implementing community service that can be presented are problem identification, activity planning, implementation of socialization and training, production and distribution of content, and evaluation and monitoring of impact.

Abstract

This article discusses a community service program in the form of socialization of the importance of the role of the Village Consultative Body in village development for members of the Village Consultative Body in Purang Mese, Compang Ndejing Village, Borong District, East Manggarai Regency. This activity is motivated by the importance of the Village Consultative Body realizing its main tasks and functions in village development. The purpose of this program is to increase awareness of the Village Consultative Body regarding its main tasks and functions. The methods used include observation, simulation, evaluation, and feedback. This activity was carried out on April 15, 2025, involving the Village Consultative Body (BPD) and all village officials. The material provided includes Understanding the Village Consultative Body. Duties and Functions of the Village Consultative Body, the Role of the Village Consultative Body in Village Development, the Role of the Village Consultative Body in Decision Making, the Role of the Village Consultative Body in Supervising Village Funds, Challenges Faced by the Village Consultative Body in Village Development.

Abstract

Administration is one of the sources for obtaining data and information. Administrative management often encounters obstacles, especially in terms of archiving, which frequently occurs in the Village. The purpose of implementing this socialization activity is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the Village government and the Community in the arrangement of Village administration in Bangka Kantar Village, Borong  District, East Manggarai Regency. The socialization material includes General Understanding of Administration, Village Understanding Administration, Types of Village Administration, and the benefits of implementing effective and efficient administration. This implementation method is carried out through observation, coordination and implementation of activities. Participants involved in this activity are village officials and the community in Bangka Kantar Village, Borong District, East Manggarai. The results of the activity are expected to provide education and practical practice to the village government and community, so that better and neater village administration governance is realized.

Abstract

The Village Government is the government at the village level, which is responsible for organizing government, implementing development, fostering community development, and empowering communities in the village area. The purpose of implementing this socialization activity is to increase the understanding of the village government and community in developing the village's potential in Bangka Kantar Village, Borong District, East Manggarai. The socialization material includes: understanding the village government, the role of the village government, village potential, and the benefits of developing village potential. This implementation method is carried out through observation, coordination and implementation of activities. Participants involved in this activity are village officials and the community of Bangka Kantar Village, Borong District, East Manggarai. The results of the activity are expected to provide education to the village government and community, so that they can develop the potential of the village, so that they can increase village income and meet economic needs in households. Abstract

This article discusses a community service program in the form of socialization to the community, particularly for pregnant women and nursing mothers, on how to prevent and overcome stunting, which requires special attention in rural areas such as Golo Kantar village. This community service program aims to increase the knowledge of the Golo Kantar Village community through socialization of stunting prevention and control strategies. The implementation method includes a needs survey, planning of socialization materials, logistical preparation, implementation of interactive socialization activities, and evaluation of program impact. The results of this activity are expected to increase public awareness and knowledge in overcoming stunting in their families so that it is hoped that the stunting rate can slowly decrease.

Abstract

The use of social media has become an inseparable part of modern society, including in rural areas such as Golo Kantar Village. However, there are still significant obstacles in the form of a lack of public understanding regarding the ethics of use, personal data security, and the positive and productive use of social media. This condition has the potential to cause various problems such as the spread of inaccurate information, privacy violations, and negative impacts on social relations in the community. To overcome this, this community service program was designed with the aim of increasing the digital literacy of the Golo Kantar Village community through smart social media socialization. The method of implementing this program includes several stages, namely a needs survey aimed at identifying the level of understanding and obstacles of the community regarding social media, compiling and planning socialization materials that are adjusted to local conditions and needs, and preparing supporting logistics so that activities can run effectively. The core activity in the form of interactive socialization is carried out with a participatory approach, inviting the community to discuss and share experiences in using social media wisely. Furthermore, an evaluation of the impact of the program is carried out to measure changes in the level of digital literacy, awareness of digital ethics, and the community's ability to manage personal data security and use social media productively. The expected results of the implementation of this program are increasing awareness and ability of the Golo Kantar Village community in using social media in a responsible, safe way, and supporting self-development and community. Thus, this program not only contributes to reducing the negative risks of using social media, but also supports improving the quality of life and sustainable village development through the use of appropriate and beneficial information technology.

Abstract

Community oversight and participation in the management of Village Funds play a crucial role in realizing transparent, accountable, and participatory village financial governance. However, the lack of public understanding regarding regulations and monitoring mechanisms has led to limited community involvement. This community service program aims to enhance the understanding of the people of Golo Kantar Village, Borong Sub-district, East Manggarai Regency, through the dissemination of information on the community’s role in the utilization of Village Funds. The community service methods include lectures, interactive discussions, and monitoring simulations of Village Funds. The results of the program indicate an increase in community knowledge regarding their rights to oversight, reporting mechanisms, and strategies to promote transparency. This initiative is expected to serve as a starting point for strengthening the community’s capacity to actively engage in the planning, implementation, and supervision of Village Funds.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented at SMA Negeri 1 Namohalu Esiwa to improve the English communication skills of high school teachers. Many teachers in the area face challenges in using English effectively during classroom interactions, which impacts the teaching process and student learning outcomes. To address this issue, a community-based training program was designed and implemented, consisting of workshops, peer-teaching sessions, role-playing activities, and microteaching practices. The training emphasized practical communication strategies that teachers could immediately apply in their classrooms. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-test assessments, reflective reflections, and feedback questionnaires. The results showed a significant increase in teachers' confidence and ability to use English communicatively in teaching contexts. This program demonstrates that community-based training can serve as an effective model for continuing professional development, particularly for teachers in rural areas.
