Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity and readability of Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based e-supplements assisted by Augmented Reality in improving students’ critical thinking skills. Learning by utilizing teaching materials in the form of e-supplements integrated with PBL and Augmented Reality learning models is expected to provide a significant contribution to improving students’ critical thinking skills, as well as providing new insights in developing effective digital teaching materials. This study usedthe research and development (R&D) method but only up to the small-scale trial stage. The subjects of this study were grade XI students of SMA N 6 Surakarta. The data instruments used in this study were media and material validation questionnaires and readability questionnaires. The product validity criteria are seen from the assessment of media and material expert validators, while the readability criteria are seen from the results of student response questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the validity of the product was declared very valid with an average of 94.5% for media experts and 93.7% for material experts. The readability value was considered very good with an average of 89.8%. Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that PBL-based e-supplement assisted by Augmented Reality is feasible and has the potential to improve students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive e-module integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to enhance junior high school students’ independence and understanding of alternative energy concepts. Using the ADDIE-based Research and Development (R&D) method, the process included analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Expert validation, along with readability and practicality tests involving students, was conducted using various instruments, including questionnaires and pretest-posttest evaluations. The e-module achieved high validity, with Aiken's V scores of 0.94 for both media and content. It also gained high readability (84.3%) and practicality (89%) scores. The Wilcoxon test (p < 0.001) and a normalized gain of 0.75 indicated a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding. Additionally, the rate of learning independence increased by 85%. The Mann-Whitney test confirmed significant differences between experimental and control groups, proving the module's effectiveness in digital and contextual science learning. Overall, the e-module is effective for project-based science education. The study recommends applying similar approaches in other subjects and integrating advanced technology to support personalized and effective learning in the 21st century.

Abstract

Heavy metal pollution is an environmental problem that directly impacts human health and the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems. Research indicates that the issue of heavy metal pollution can be used as a contextual learning resource to foster students’ digital literacy skills and environmental awareness. Preliminary observations at SMP Negeri 1 Boja revealed that students’ digital literacy skills remain relatively low, indicating the need for innovative learning resources to enhance these competencies. This study aims to develop a research-based digital teaching supplement on heavy metal pollution to equip junior high school students with digital literacy skills. The research employed the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study involved eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Boja during the 2024/2025 academic year. Data analysis used descriptive statistics to assess validity and practicality, as well as percentage achievement analysis to evaluate students’ digital literacy. The results show that: (1) material expert validation scored 91.54% (very feasible) and media expert validation scored 93.07% (very feasible), (2) student responses indicated a practicality score of 93.06% (very practical), and (3) students’ digital literacy averaged 85.74% (very good) across the five aspects: accessing (90.00%), selecting (83.97%), understanding (90.15%), evaluating (80.44%), and producing (84.12%). These findings demonstrate that the developed research-based digital teaching supplement is highly feasible, highly practical, and effective in equipping students with strong digital literacy skills.

Abstract

Integrating interactive digital media with the STEAM approach is considered a potential solution to increase student engagement, creativity, and critical thinking. This study aims to systematically review the development and implementation of STEAM-based interactive learning media for education during 2016-2025. The method used was a systematic literature review by analyzing national and international publications relevant to STEAM integration, interactive media design, and learning outcomes in science education. In addition, this study also used a bibliographic analysis method. From 409 initial articles, 66 articles were selected for full review, and 16 articles met the inclusion criteria. Content analysis was conducted to examine the types of media, pedagogical approaches, education levels, and reported learning outcomes. All studies reported that interactive media have high validity and practicality, and are effective in improving concept understanding, learning independence, and student engagement. The findings show that STEAM-based interactive media significantly improves students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and creativity, as well as fostering motivation and reducing misconceptions. Furthermore, research trends highlight the increased adoption of web-based platforms, gamification, and contextual visualization to create meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Sustainability awareness among students is crucial for fostering environmentally responsible behaviors, particularly concerning peatlands’ role in global warming. However, a valid and reliable measurement tool is needed to assess students’ awareness effectively. This study aims to examine the validity and reliability of a questionnaire designed to measure secondary school students’ sustainability awareness in this context. A descriptive survey design was employed, involving 40 participants eight expert validators and 32 students. Data were collected through expert validation and questionnaire distribution. Content validity was assessed by four content experts and four readability experts, while item validity and reliability were analyzed using the Rasch model. Results indicated a high content validity score (91%), confirming the questionnaire’s effectiveness in measuring students’ knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. The item validity test showed all statement items were valid, and reliability analysis yielded strong internal consistency (Cronbach’s Alpha: 0.84 for person reliability and 0.85 for item reliability). These findings suggest that the questionnaire is a reliable instrument for assessing sustainability awareness. The study contributes to environmental education by providing a scientifically validated tool for measuring students’ understanding of sustainability, which can inform future curriculum development and policy-making efforts to enhance environmental awareness among students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PhET Simulation with Deep Learning approach on student learning outcomes on dynamic fluid topic. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects consisted of two XI classes in one of the randomly selected high schools in Semarang. The experimental class used the PBL model combined with PhET simulation to fill in the Learner Worksheet (LKPD) related to the discharge and continuity equations, while the control class did not use PhET and did not fill in the LKPD. Both classes were then given a learning outcome test. The results of the analysis using the Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of the two classes (U = .000, Z = -5.737, p < 0.001), with the experimental class scoring higher (M = 80) than the control class (M = 19). These findings show that the PBL model assisted by PhET Simulation and a deep learning approach improved student learning outcomes. The conclusion of this study is that the application of PBL model assisted by PhET Simulation and Deep Learning approach effectively improves student learning outcomes on dynamic fluid topic.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an electronic module based on socio-scientific issues on biotechnology material using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model. This module is designed to improve high school students' argumentation skills and perceptions of biotechnology. The subjects of the study consisted of 76 grade XI students in West Bandung Regency. The three-tier test instrument was used to identify student misconceptions, with the results showing the highest percentage of misconceptions in the concepts of STEM cells (22%), recombinant bacteria (21%), and cloning (19%). Needs analysis was carried out through data triangulation, including diagnostic tests, teacher interviews, and student questionnaires. The electronic module developed includes material features, practicums, socio-scientific issues, perception space, and evaluation. Validation by material experts, technology, teachers, and students produced an average score of 3.31 (valid criteria) with a feasibility percentage of 83%. Field trials on 20 students showed an average effectiveness score of 3.19 (80%), included in the very valid category. The results of the study indicate that this module is effective in improving student understanding, interesting to use, and feasible to be applied in distance learning. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of developing innovative learning media to overcome misconceptions and encourage scientific literacy based on contemporary issues.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using Augmented Reality (AR) assisted by Assembler in improving the ability of scientific explanation and student interest in learning science. The method used was quasi-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design on 20 seventh grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Depok. Data were collected through scientific explanation ability test and learning interest questionnaire, then analyzed using Paired Sample t-test and Cohen’s d to measure the intervention effect. The results showed a significant increase in scientific explanation ability and interest in learning. The highest scientific explanation indicator is in claim, while interest in learning is dominated by aspects of attention and feelings of pleasure. The findings prove that Augmented Reality (AR) is effective as an innovative learning media to improve the understanding of science concepts and students’ learning motivation. The implications of the research encourage the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the science curriculum to create interactive and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

In today's global era, education not only emphasizes cognitive aspects and critical thinking skills but also character formation and the internalization of moral values. One of the main challenges for Madrasah Aliyah is to integrate Islamic values into science learning so that students excel intellectually and have a strong religious character. This research aims to develop a valid and effective learning supplement that integrates Islamic values for use in reproductive system materials to strengthen students' critical thinking abilities and religious character. This research uses the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), with data collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests (pre-post). The supplement was analyzed by experts in content and media and was tested on students from class XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 at MAN 2 Semarang and MAN Salatiga. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis and  statistical data analysis. This supplement is declared very valid by media experts (93.37%) and material experts (95.49%), with a high readability level (88.18%). Strengthening critical thinking skills is shown through the N-Gain analysis per indicator with an average score of 0.82 (high category) and the religious character of students is indicated through the N-Gain analysis per indicator with an average score of 0.82 (high category).

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using interactive multimedia based on project-based learning on the creativity of students regarding the human respiratory system material in the 8th grade of MTs Negeri Kota Depok. The type of research used in this study is experimental research with a pre-experimental design in the form of a one group pretest posttest design, with a quantitative research approach. In this research, sampling was conducted using total sampling technique with class 8 F as the research sample. The results showed that the average score of student learning outcomes after the application of powtoon learning media was 81.5625 while before being treated was 36.015625. In addition, there was an increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of project-based learning-based interactive multimedia by obtaining an average gain value of 0.712 which was at high criteria. As for the n-gain percent obtained 71.2, it is on the criteria of being quite effective. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of interactive multimedia based on project-based learning is effective in enhancing students’ creativity in the material of the human respiratory system for eighth-grade students at MTs Negeri Kota Depok.
