Abstract

This study aims to determine how the performance of the Dinas Sosial in Handling the Poor at Selayar District by using the four performance indicators proposed by Dwiyanto (2008) namely Service Quality, Responsiveness, Responsibility, and Accountability. This research method is descriptive qualitative with the focus of research at the Dinas Social of Selayar District. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study, it can be seen that Dinas Sosial in Handling the Poor at the Selayar District carried out their duties well. This can be seen from the implementation of the four indicators of performance research, namely service quality, responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability. The results of this study indicate that the Performance of the Dinas Sosial in Handling the Poor at the Selayar District through the Family Hope Program (FHP) has been going well, marked by reduced the number of families who receive assistance each year.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the government in increasing the awareness of land and building taxpayers in Mamuju Regency and to determine the factors that influence the awareness of land and building taxpayers in Mamuju Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the government's role in increasing awareness of land and building taxpayers in Mamuju Regency is carried out well, but extension activities have not been evenly distributed. Indicators of improving services have not been implemented well in the Bapenda Mamuju Regency such as the lack of response from employees and the lack of infrastructure facilities provided. The Bapenda in Mamuju Regency has not given awards to taxpayers at all.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the evaluation of the implementation of the City Without Slums Program (KOTAKU) at Mariso Districts, Mariso Village, Makassar City, and the impact of the implementation of the Slumless City Program (KOTAKU) at Mariso Districts, Mariso Village, Makassar City. This study uses a qualitative research type with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study used the analysis model according to Spradley. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the KOTAKU (City Without Slums) Program Evaluation (Study at Mariso Districts, Mariso Village, Makassar City) is not implemented well in accordance with the concept of Edward a Suchman. Indicators that do not work well are: a. program objectives, b. problem analysis, c. measurement of change, d. changes to the consequences of activities, e. program impact. The indicators that run well are description and standardization. The impact of the City Without Slums Program (KOTAKU) is that not all people can feel the infrastructure development in Mariso Village. The lack of community participation in maintaining infrastructure has mede the City Without Slums (KOTAKU) Program less successfull.

Abstract

The study assesses Domestic Violence against Women on Family Relationship in Benue State. Four research objectives were stated with four corresponding questions and null hypotheses. Domestic violence against women is domiciled in the home cutting across race, level of education since women are regarded as second class citizens. The study was conducted on married couples in Tarka Local Government area of Benue State, with a population of 40,515 using descriptive survey research design. The sample of 100 was selected using sample and sampling technique. The instrument used for collecting data for the study was a thirty-three (33) item questionnaire.  Data were collected by the researcher from the study area. Data collected were statistically analyzed using mean and standard deviation to obtain differences in responses of the subjects while Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to test the four null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between domestic violence against women and family relationship.  The first finding showed that, there was a high influence of spousal abuse against women and family relationship which stated that partners gave threatening looks when he/she did not agree with something said or done, which creates fear.  The researcher recommended that, Religious and elders in the community in Benue State should give talks on how good homes should be and how partners live peacefully by giving each other mutual respect and taking collective decision that concerns the family to strengthen family relationship. The researcher further recommended that Benue State Government should set up guidance and counseling centers on family matters, to educate partners on how best to improve family relationship.
