Abstract

ish washing soap is a cleaner made by a chemical reaction between potassium or sodium and fatty acids from vegetable oils or animalfats. Making liquid dishwashing soap from lime peel extract has been carried out using the extraction method. This research aims todetermine the effect of lime peel extract and Methyl Ester Sulfonate (MES) on the characteristics of the liquid dishwashing soap produced, including several tests, namely pH, density, viscosity, bacteria based on SNI 06-2075-1996. Soap making is done by varying the volume oflime peel extract 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 ml and the MES mass 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 grams, as well as adding other ingredients such as NaCl 8 grams, distilled water 300ml, aromatics 2 ml, dye 1 gram. The research results showed that a lime peel extract volume of 6 ml and a MES massof 15 grams produced the best soap with a pH of 6.04, density of 1.099 gr/ml, viscosity of 19.8 cP, bacteria 4 colonies/gr.

Abstract

Coffee is a widely enjoyed beverage in Indonesia and around the world, holding a significant role as a key commodity in Indonesia's plantation sector. This beverage is popular not only for its distinctive flavor but also for its various health benefits. This article reviews several main bioactive components in coffee, including caffeine, chlorogenic acid, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid, as well as the potential health benefits of each. Caffeine is known as a stimulant that can enhance alertness, reduce drowsiness, and acts as a potential antioxidant. Chlorogenic acid functions as an anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, antidiabetic, and anti-obesity agent, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Ferulic acid has strong antioxidant effects and is used as a diabetes therapy due to its ability to reduce oxidative stress, while caffeic acid is known for its anticancer, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities, supporting the prevention of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases. This article also discusses the mechanisms of action for each bioactive component within the body, particularly on the nervous system, lipid metabolism, and antioxidant activity. Through this review, coffee is understood not only as a refreshing beverage but also as a potential agent in the therapy and prevention of various chronic diseases.

Abstract

Nowadays, more and more skin moisturizing formulations are derived from natural ingredients. One of them is the use of vegetable oils. Vegetable oil is known to contain compounds that can act as an emollient so that it has the potential to be developed as a skin. Therefore, this research aims to determine the optimal conditions of Candlenut gel for dry skin based on natural ingredients and determine the characteristics of moisturizers against the type of addition of candlenut oil oil and the volume concentration of honeycomb as an emulsifier. This research uses heating method with emulsifier variation (beeswax) 2ml, 4ml, 6ml, 8ml and 10ml with candlenut oil variations 2.5ml, 5ml, 7.5ml, 10ml and 10.5ml. From the results of variations in the concentration of honeycomb, the honeycomb emulsifier is obtained at a variation of 8ml with a variation of 5ml candlenut oil.

Abstract

Empty oil palm fruit bunches have been utilized as raw material for organic fertilizer. This research aims to determine magnesium levels, nitrogen levels, phosphorus levels, potassium levels in organic fertilizer from empty oil palm fruit bunch waste with the addition of effective microorganisms - 4 (EM4) activator and local banana hump microorganisms as product nutrient enhancers and compared with N levels. , P, K contained in the Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 70/Permentan/SR. 10/140/2011. Tests were tested using the Kjedahl method, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results of this study showed that the highest magnesium levels in samples (30 ml EM4 60 ml MOL) and (30 ml EM4 90 ml MOL) were 0.58%, the highest phosphorus levels in samples (90 ml EM4 150 ml MOL) and (150 ml EM4 90 ml MOL) which is 0.25%, The highest nitrogen content of some of the best samples is shown in the sample (90 ml EM4 150 ml MOL) with a result of 37%, The highest potassium content of some of the best samples is shown in the sample (150 EM4 150 MOL ) with a yield of 1.14%. The levels of N, P, K in this organic fertilizer do not meet the quality requirements for organic fertilizer with a minimum of 2%, but the high concentration of effective microorganisms - 4 (EM4) has a big influence on the decomposer of empty oil palm fruit bunches and local microorganisms of banana hump can increase organic fertilizer nutrients. .

Abstract

In this research, the citronellal compound contained in citronella oil was isolated using the vacuum distillation method. Citronellal is the main compound in citronella oil which plays the most role in controlling pests because it is an insect repellent (insect repellent) and antifeedant which reduces the appetite of insects and deterrents oviposition, that is, it can reduce the number of eggs produced by plant pest organisms. This is what drives the processing of citronella essential oil to be processed, by isolating the citronellal compound using vacuum distillation, with operating pressure conditions: 70 mBar, and temperature variations: 120ºC, 125ºC, 130ºC, 135ºC, 140ºC and operating time: 80,100,120,140,160 minutes. Samples were analyzed using GC-MS (Gas Chromathography Mass Spectrometry), refractive index, specific gravity and effectiveness testing in controlling pests. The research results showed that the GC-MS test results showed that the % area of citronellal before and after distillation increased by 4.59%. namely from 41.03% to 45.62%. The volume of distillate produced at each temperature increases with each variation in operating time. The maximum distillate yield was obtained at an operating temperature of 140ºC at an operating time of 160 minutes with a distillate volume of 19.7 mL. The Refractive Index value was obtained in the range 1.4472-1.4486. The density of the resulting distillate was found to be in the range 0.851-0.859. The results of testing the effectiveness of pest control show that pesticides containing citronellal compounds can prevent insects from approaching the leaves for 3 hours during the test period, and the percentage of repellency level (repellent) at 3 hours is 100%, more effective than pesticides using ordinary citronella oil. which has a repellency rate of 76.4%.

Abstract

Herbal tea is a mixture of flowers, leaves, seeds, roots, or dried fruits used as a medicinal drink. Breadfruit leaf jasmine flower herbal tea is an herbal drink made in the form of tea powder using breadfruit leaves jasmine flowers which have many benefits including, Lowering cholesterol levels, lowering high blood pressure, kidney failure, treating heart disease, stomach acid, diabetes. Herbal tea makers use variations of the withering process for (4 days, 5 days, and 6 days) and the drying method using an oven for 10 minutes at a temperature of 75 ℃. The tests carried out include yield tests, water content, ash content, antioxidant activity tests using the DPPH method, tannin tests, flavonoids and organoleptic tests. The results showed the best herbal tea at 6 days of withering and compared its composition with sample 3 (TH3). The yield obtained was very low, although there was a reduction in raw materials to the product, the quality of the tea was the best because the air obtained was in accordance with the provisions of SNI No. 3.4%. 3836. 2013 and knowing the quality of life of herbal tea which was 10.6%. antioxidants contained in herbal tea breadfruit leaves have strong antioxidant content, has been proven in the IC50 equation as much as 4.865 in accordance with the provisions of less than 50 indicating the amount of antioxidant content In herbal tea made from jasmine leaves and flowers, the tannin content is 112 mg / kg body weight per day. Testing of flavonoid samples changed color to yellow which indicates positive flavonoids in herbal breadfruit jasmine leaves.
