Abstract

As a local wisdom agricultural system in Bali, Subak is threatened in maintaining food sovereignty in the Bali region. This is because farmers no longer fully implement the Tri Hita Karana principles in their agricultural systems. Currently, farmers are turning to the Green Revolution agricultural system which has principles that are contrary to those contained in the food sovereignty system. This study aims to determine the extent to which the Green Revolution has degraded the food sovereignty of Subak which applies the values of Tri Hita Karana so that it can identify the root causes of problems and solutions that can be carried out to maintain food sovereignty. This research uses qualitative research design and Life History method to understand various changes that occur in depth. Data collection is done using observation, literature, and conduct direct interviews with three Subaks in Tabanan regency. The results showed a shifting orientation from the human-based agricultural system to capital and technology. The results of this shift degrade the food sovereignty of Subak, especially the rights of farmers as well as environmental and cultural degradation. The Green Revolution did not directly affect Subak's food sovereignty, but the farmers who were influenced by changes brought by the Green Revolution made Subak not sovereign.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the interest of tourists in visiting the particular economic area in the Tanjung Lesung Banten Tourism area. By being designated as a particular economic group, tourist interest should increase along with improvements in facilities and infrastructure in Banten. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods. The sample of respondents was 85, with processed data from 73 respondents who had visited Tanjung Lesung Beach Resort and Tanjung Lesung Beach Club, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out in stages using validity and reliability tests. The data was transformed using the MSI method into interval data and then analyzed using Multiple Regression Analysis. The results show that attractions have the highest and most significant value on tourist interest in visiting Tanjung Lesung. On the other hand, accessibility and amenities individually do not significantly affect tourists' interest in visiting.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted economic and consumer resilience in Indonesia, especially in facing the threat of a global recession. This research explores the relationship between the threat of a post-COVID-19 recession and consumer resilience. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study type and a synthetic analysis approach, this research analyzes 15 scientific works from 2007-2022 obtained from the Google Scholar database. The main findings include the potential threat of recession as indicated by the performance of high inflation reducing consumer purchasing power, declining economic growth in Indonesia -3.49% in 2020, and rising food prices triggering panic buying. Optimistic individual characteristics, adaptability, and financial literacy demonstrate consumer resilience. Preventive and collaborative strategies between government, business, and society are crucial to building strong consumer resilience.

Abstract

Disaster vulnerability describes the loss level due to the Rob Flood disaster in Demak Regency through the community's environmental, social, physical, and economic aspects. The research compares physical, economic, social, and environmental vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies to reduce disaster vulnerability. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach, strengthened by qualitative data (documents). The research results show that the highest level of vulnerability comes from social and economic vulnerability, followed by physical vulnerability. Only environmental vulnerability has the lowest value compared to the other three aspects. It shows that the Demak government's efforts to build sea walls or embankments reduce vulnerability to tidal flood disasters. Social policy mitigation strategies through reducing population growth rates, providing direct cash assistance, and providing employment opportunities for women and vulnerable groups need more attention to be improved. Economic policies that help people in the agricultural sector, such as assistance with agricultural equipment, assistance with seeds or construction of barns, and training for farmers, still need to be optimized.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the value of local wisdom in the culture of people in East Java and then analyze its influence on economic development in East Java. The research method uses a qualitative approach in a quantitative part (Concurrent Embedded). The qualitative data collection technique uses interviews with experts supported by literature studies, while the quantitative method uses panel data (38 districts/cities and 2013-2017 data). Data analysis is in the form of Fixed Effect Model (E-GLS) panel regression. The research results show that economic development in East Java can optimize the quality of human resources (IPM), which have intellectual and moral qualities (from Mataraman cultural values). Apart from that, Islamic boarding school cooperatives have also been proven significant at a fundamental level of 0.01 in reducing poverty. However, the quality of cooperatives needs to be of concern to the government regarding members' activeness, skills in managing cooperatives, and other empowerment efforts. Without improving the quality of Islamic boarding school cooperatives, it will impact the increasing rate of inequality in East Java.
