Abstract

This study aims at figuring out how power can be seen in the Joko Widodo’sspeech. what is the dominant type of power used in Joko Widodo’s speech andwhy. It deals with the tenor which is focused on the power. This research useddescriptive qualitative method in which the writer analized the data by describingthe power that realized in the Joko Widodo’s speech. The data of this study takenfrom article in the internet. The data were the speech of Joko Widodo, it takesfrom different four speech that Jokowi have done in different place and situation.The writer found that the power in Joko widodo’s speech mostly is equal whileJokowi speak in the international situation.

Abstract

This research analyzes the acquisition of speech pattern by three Karonese girls. Particular attention is given to types of speech pattern acquired by the three girls. This research uses ethnography qualitative research. The term ethnography has come to be quated with vitually any qualitative research project where the intent is to provide a detailed, in depth description of everyday life and practice. The data were collected by applying documentary technique through daily observation in different context when the children should be active and produce utterances such as playing, watching television, having snack, home activities and communicate with others. The finding at this research shows that Karonese girls acquired three types of speech patterns, namely one- word utterance, two- word utterances and multi- word utterances. The speech pattern used more complex and accordance with the structure of words in the local Karo language. There were three factors affecting language acquisition of the three children, namely society, cognitive process and language.

Abstract

The study deals with the Taboo words uttered by the singer of pop, rock, and hip hop songs . The objective of this study was to identify the kinds and the reason of taboo words used by the songs in pop, rock, and hip hop genres. The source of the data was lyrics of three lates album in recent five years (2010-2015) which lead three genres; Miley Cyrus for pop, Linkin Park for rock, and Nicki Minaj for hip hop. Each of singers brought five songs as the data. The data were collected by selecting lyrics containing taboo words after listening the song and matching the lyrics from internet carefully. The results of this study were four kinds of taboo words; offensive slang, profanity, sexual referent, and scatological referent occured in the songs and the most dominant kinds of taboo word appeared was offensive slang.
