Abstract

The play "Uttar Ramacharita" written by Mahakavi Bhavabhuti depicts the sequel of Ramayana, which includes the events after the coronation of Rama, Sita's exile, the birth of Luv-Kush and the reunion of Rama-Sita. The characters of this play are not only of mythological importance, but their qualities and thoughts inspire even in today's society. Shri Rama is a symbol of ideal leadership and justice, he sacrifices his personal pleasures for the welfare of the people and takes difficult decisions to protect justice. In today's time, Rama's character teaches us that a true leader should rise above his personal interest and work for the welfare of the society and the nation. Mother Sita is a symbol of womanly respect and tolerance. Sita has to suffer exile due to the suspicion of society, but she maintains patience and self-respect. She raises Luv-Kush by becoming self-reliant. In today's time, Sita's character gives us the identity of a strong woman with self-respect and self-reliance.

Abstract

The Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa itself is an Old Javanese literary work adapted from the Sanskrit epic Rāmāyaṇa by Valmiki. This work not only serves as entertainment but also as a source of moral and ethical teachings for the Old Javanese society. In the Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa, the character of Sang Daśaratha is described in depth, especially in Sargah (chapter) I Pada (stanza) 3. This research focuses on the effort to elaborate in detail the leadership patterns of Sang Daśaratha using a qualitative research method with a textual analysis approach. In the process, several results were obtained: a Hindu leader who applies the ideal leadership principles in Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa Sargah I Pada 3 must be oriented towards a typical leader who understands the concept of the Vedic teachings. This can be explored through fundamental principles that include dharma, sattva, karma, self-knowledge and awareness, vasudhaiva kutumbakam, integrity and ethical leadership, as well as interconnectedness and holistic vision. It is also important for a Hindu leader to always devote themselves to the Gods. In the principles shown in Kakawin Rāmāyaṇa Sargah I Pada 3, at least three deities are shown to be central entities that must be worshiped, namely Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva, as well as Lord Agni. In addition, a leader must also have a soul of love for their family and people and never forget their ancestors, because all of that is a source of strength and inspiration. Abstract

This research article examines the concept of family in Valmiki’s Ramayana, focusing on its cultural, moral, and social importance. The study uses qualitative textual analysis along with sociological theories such as role theory, symbolic interactionism, and functionalism to look at family duty, gender roles, sibling connections, emotional work, and the passing down of values. By analysing key characters and events, including Rama’s exile, Sita’s moral choices, Lakshmana’s loyalty, and Bharata’s renunciation, the article shows that the Ramayana presents family not as a fixed ideal but as a complex moral institution based on dharma (duty) and resilience. It also explores how women contribute to and challenge family structures and highlights the concept of extended and chosen families beyond biological ties. The findings suggest that the epic offers timeless lessons on sacrifice, forgiveness, and ethical decision-making that are still relevant to today’s family issues. The study concludes that the Ramayana, while grounded in tradition, provides a dynamic and thoughtful view of family life, one that continues to spark discussions across generations and cultures.

Abstract

The development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) is an important milestone in Indonesia's history. The existence of the IKN is expected to encourage inclusive and equitable economic growth throughout Indonesia. The support of the Indonesian people for the IKN is significant. The public obtains information about the IKN through the mass media. The purpose of this study was to examine the way online media presents news regarding Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) and to analyze the primary subjects emphasized in the news coverage. The study examines the news subjects related to IKN on the online media platforms Detik.com and Kompas.com utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model and Robert M. Entman's framing technique. The subject analysis yielded 15 primary topics for each media channel. Detik.com mostly covers topics related to politics, investment, IKN construction projects, and accommodation. On the other hand, Kompas.com mainly focuses on investment, the IKN Authority, IKN construction projects, and infrastructure. These themes are the most significant subjects in IKN news coverage across all media platforms, based on their weight and probability. The news framing of Detik.com and Kompas.com is generally characterized by a neutral or favorable tone, to promote public understanding, acceptance, and endorsement of the development of IKN. Favorable media coverage can assist the administration in garnering popular backing and guaranteeing the triumph of the IKN project. Both media outlets present a positive framing on IKN's future and highlight the significance of infrastructure projects in attracting additional investment.

Abstract

This study examines the role of digital empowerment in strengthening community participation within Bali’s culture-based tourism villages. Using a qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative data from the Bali Provincial Tourism Office (Disparda, 2025), the research analyzes 505 tourism attractions categorized by type—natural, cultural, and artificial—and by compliance with tourism standardization criteria. Results indicate that only 20.2% of attractions are compliant, highlighting significant disparities in digital readiness and management quality. Gianyar and Badung Regencies show higher preparedness for digital promotion, while Buleleng, Klungkung, and Karangasem require focused efforts in digital literacy and content creation. The study’s novelty lies in integrating quantitative indicators of tourism feasibility with qualitative assessments of digital education and empowerment. By linking compliance data with community digital capacity, the findings offer strategic insights for policymakers and tourism stakeholders. The study concludes that advancing digital skills and literacy among local tourism actors is essential for fostering sustainable, inclusive, and culturally grounded digital tourism development in Bali.

Abstract

The increasing social pressures of modernization, tourism, and globalization have posed significant challenges to interreligious harmony in multicultural regions such as Bali. Within this context, the present study on communication conflict management among Hindu–Buddhist communities in Tuluk Biu and Batur Villages, Kintamani, Bangli becomes both relevant and urgent. The research aims to understand how interfaith communication patterns rooted in local cultural and spiritual values strengthen religious moderation while offering a contextually grounded model of peaceful communication in Balinese society. The main objective is to analyze communication patterns, the role of traditional and governmental institutions, and the spiritual foundations that sustain harmonious Hindu–Buddhist relations at the community level. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, conducted in Tuluk Biu and Batur Villages, Kintamani District, Bangli Regency. The key informants included the village head, traditional leaders (Bendesa Adat), Hindu religious leaders, and Buddhist monks. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies, and then analyzed thematically and interpretatively using the theoretical frameworks of Communication Conflict Management, Transformative Communication, and the Balinese ethical philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. The findings reveal that the Hindu–Buddhist communities in Kintamani have developed collaborative, empathetic, and transformative communication practices. Spiritual values such as tat twam asi (“I am you”), karuna (compassion), and ahimsa (non-violence) serve as ethical foundations for peaceful dialogue, while traditional institutions and village governance act as mediators maintaining social equilibrium. Cultural elements such as menyama braya (brotherhood) and the banjar system strengthen community-based interfaith cooperation. These results demonstrate that harmony among religious groups arises organically from locally embedded spiritual and cultural communication practices rather than external interventions. In conclusion, the Hindu–Buddhist communication model in Kintamani contributes theoretically by expanding conflict management and intercultural communication paradigms toward a spirituality-based approach. Practically, it offers an authentic, contextual, and sustainable model for fostering religious moderation in plural societies. Future studies are recommended to explore similar spiritual-communicative frameworks in other multireligious regions to support Indonesia’s national agenda on religious moderation.

Abstract

Ulu Petanu Waterfall has become one of the emerging natural tourist attractions in Gianyar Regency. The pristine nature of this waterfall serves as a unique appeal compared to similar locations within the Gianyar area. Based on the Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC), this attraction is currently in the second stage, namely the development phase. At this stage, several challenges have begun to emerge, including the development of supporting facilities around the site, road access, and potential conflicts among local communities regarding the tourism attraction’s development. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method through in-depth interviews with the attraction’s managers, local residents, and nearby vendors. The main focus of this research is to identify the development boundaries and sustainable development plans, particularly the needs of the Kedisan Village community in Gianyar Regency, Bali. The research findings indicate that the village management, under the supervision of Kedisan Village, still demonstrates enthusiasm for independent management in line with the destination life cycle. The self-managed development of the tourist attraction continues to progress well, as the community affected by the waterfall’s presence is still able to cooperate effectively, supported by the influence of local community leaders who play a significant role in Kedisan Village’s social life. However, in the future, attention should also be given to the continuity of these community leaders’ roles, especially since the advancement of information technology will lead the younger generation to become more open and influenced by external factors.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of memorable tourism experiences (MTEs) on destination brand equity and destination attachment of Hindu tourism in Bali. It aims to elucidate how these experiences shape tourists' perceptions and behaviors. MTEs are characterized by their uniqueness and ability to create lasting impressions, significantly influencing tourist satisfaction and loyalty. The research employs partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the relationships between MTEs, destination brand equity, and destination attachment. Findings reveal that memorable tourism experiences significantly enhance destination brand equity by fostering strong emotional connections and increasing perceived value. Additionally, MTEs positively influence destination attachment, which in turn strengthens brand loyalty. The study highlights the critical role of authenticity and immersive experiences in building and sustaining a destination's appeal. These insights offer valuable implications for tourism management and marketing strategies, emphasizing the importance of creating impactful experiences to differentiate destinations and foster long-term visitor engagement.

Abstract

E-commerce plays an essential role in supporting young entrepreneurs by providing easier access to markets, lower business costs, and wider opportunities for innovation. However, there is still a gap between theories of digital entrepreneurship and real practices, as many young entrepreneurs face challenges such as limited digital literacy, funding, and business management skills. This study aims to analyze how e-commerce influences the growth and sustainability of young entrepreneurship and to identify the main factors that support or hinder their success. Using a systematic literature review based on PRISMA guidelines, this research reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2024 from Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The analysis used three main theories: Entrepreneurial Opportunity Recognition Theory, Technology Acceptance Model, and Resource-Based View. The findings show that e-commerce not only serves as a platform for transactions but also as an ecosystem for learning and innovation. It helps young entrepreneurs recognize opportunities, adopt technology, and manage resources more effectively. However, strengthening digital education, access to finance, and policy support is needed to ensure the sustainability of youth entrepreneurship in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines how digital transformation through e-commerce can be a competitive advantage for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. Based on literature studies and secondary data from 2020–2025, the results indicate that e-commerce plays a key role in expanding markets, increasing efficiency, and strengthening brand image. However, challenges such as low digital literacy, infrastructure inequality, and cybersecurity risks remain. The success of digital transformation is influenced by internal readiness, managerial support, and collaboration with digital platforms. Using the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework and Dynamic Capability Theory, this study concludes that inclusive and adaptive digital transformation, accompanied by policy support and cross-sector collaboration, is crucial for realizing a resilient and competitive Indonesian digital economy.
