Abstract

Kampung Adat Cireundeu is a traditional Sundanese community in West Java, which has successfully maintained its local wisdom and cultural values in harmony with nature. This research aims to examine how environmental care character education is applied in the Cireundeu indigenous community, as well as how local wisdom-based spatial planning supports ecological sustainability. Descriptive qualitative research method was used with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. The results show that the Cireundeu community implements a holistic education system that combines formal and traditional education, with a focus on instilling Sundanese cultural values and environmental awareness. The concept of ‘Gusti nu asih, alam nu ngasah, manusa nu ngasuh’ becomes the foundation in maintaining the balance between humans and nature. The village layout is divided into residential, agricultural, protected forest, and spiritual zones, each of which has a function and strict customary rules to preserve the environment. This research concludes that local wisdom and culture-based character education play an important role in shaping a sustainable and environmentally friendly community. The findings can serve as a model for other communities in integrating local values with sustainable practices.

Abstract

It has been unanimously agreed by the researchers that one of the direct causes of inter-religious violence between the Christians and Muslims in Nigeria is reckless religious preaching that attack the creed of other religion and its followers. Such preaching often arouses provocation, annoyance and infuriation from the other side. The fact that both Islam and Christianity are religions of strong proselytization, enjoined their followers to invite other people into their folds. Both Islam and Christianity consider the task of inviting others into their fold as noble work and obligatory duty upon their respective followers. The aim of this paper is to analyze the negative role of provocative preaching in causing inter-religious tension between the Muslims and Christians in the country and showcase the efficacy of employing the Da’awah bi al-Hikmah (as enshrined in the Qur’an and Sunnah) in averting preaching related violence in the future. The research adopted analytical method where primary and secondary data from the Qur’an, hadith, academic books, journal articles, conference papers, dissertations, online sources etc were collected and analyzed. The paper discovered that some of the inter-religious violence such as that of Kafancan in 1987 and Maitatsine riot in 1980s were triggered by the reckless preaching of some fundamentalist preachers. The paper also demonstrated the prospective capacity of Da’awah bi al-Hikmah in deterring the preaching related violence in the country. The paper recommended for regulation, screening, training and certification of both preachers and the contents of the preaching in the country.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas proses pembinaan pecandu narkoba di Ponpes Bani Syifa 1, Desa Durian, Kecamatan Padang Cermin, Kabupaten Pesawaran. Tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui metode pembinaan yang diterapkan dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitasnya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dipilih secara purposive, meliputi pengurus ponpes dan pasien rehabilitasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembinaan dilakukan melalui empat metode: rehabilitasi spiritual (ruqyah), tradisional (ramuan herbal), sosial (gotong-royong), dan keterampilan (pelatihan kerja). Faktor yang memengaruhi keberhasilan pembinaan meliputi faktor internal (motivasi diri), faktor lingkungan sosial, dan dukungan dari lembaga ponpes. Seluruh faktor ini saling berkontribusi dalam mendukung proses pemulihan dan membantu mantan pecandu agar kembali produktif di masyarakat.

Abstract

Tradisi ngelepot napai merupakan kearifan lokal masyarakat Pekon Way Kerap, Kecamatan Semaka, Kabupaten Tanggamus, yang berkaitan dengan prosesi pernikahan, khususnya dalam pembuatan dan distribusi makanan khas lepot dan napai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk interaksi sosial dan peran tradisi ini dalam membentuk solidaritas sosial masyarakat Lampung Saibatin. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi sosial dalam tradisi ini bersifat asosiatif, ditandai dengan gotong royong, kerja sama, dan bantuan tanpa pamrih. Tradisi ini tidak hanya mendukung keberhasilan hajatan, tetapi juga memperkuat kohesi sosial dan identitas budaya. Tradisi ngelepot napai menjadi sarana internalisasi nilai solidaritas dan mencerminkan solidaritas mekanik, di mana seluruh masyarakat terlibat secara aktif dalam suasana kebersamaan dan harmoni sosial.

Abstract

Sexuality is often related to the female body, but this time in the film Tiny Times, we will try to explore related to the representation of the male body. This study aims to analyze the construction of male sexuality in the film Tiny Times (2013–2015) by Guo Jingming through a qualitative approach and critical discourse analysis method. The focus of the research is directed at three main aspects: the forms of male sexuality displayed, the social and cultural factors that influence the construction, and the implications of these representations on the understanding of masculinity in Chinese popular culture. The findings of the study show that the film represents male sexuality in various forms, ranging from dominant hegemonic masculinity, to alternative masculinity that is more emotional and aesthetic. Male sexuality in this film is influenced by social class factors, urban modernity, cultural capitalism, and contemporary gender values. The representation reflects the negotiation between patriarchal tradition and consumptive modernity that places the male body as a performative object as well as a status symbol. This research confirms that popular media such as Tiny Times not only reflect social realities, but also play a role in shaping gender and sexuality ideologies in society.
