Abstract

Bullying is a social problem that continues to occur in Indonesia and can affect anyone regardless of age, place, or time. Forms of bullying can be verbal, physical, or psychological, each of which may cause serious harm, both physically and mentally. The psychological effects of bullying can disrupt the victims’ emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, thus influencing their social lives. This study aims to analyze the effects of bullying on early childhood emotions and its impact on their psychological development. The research method used is library research, which involves reviewing relevant literature related to bullying phenomena and children’s mental health. The results indicate that bullying leads to psychological disorders such as stress, anxiety, and decreased self-confidence, which affect children’s social adjustment. Therefore, the active role of parents and teachers is essential in providing character education, psychological rehabilitation, and creating a safe and supportive environment for children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of assessment literacy among Guidance and Counseling (GC) teachers in improving the accuracy of student problem identification. Assessment literacy includes teachers’ ability to understand, select, apply, and interpret various assessment instruments, both test and non-test. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 12 nationally accredited journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings indicate that assessment literacy significantly contributes to the accuracy of GC teachers in identifying students’ needs and problems. Low assessment literacy often leads to misdiagnosis and ineffective counseling services, while training and the use of digital technology have proven to enhance assessment accuracy. The study implies the importance of strengthening teachers’ assessment competencies through continuous professional development and technology integration. The originality of this research lies in its systematic synthesis of recent studies on GC teachers’ assessment literacy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Motivation is an essential factor that drives individuals to achieve their goals. For students, learning motivation plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of learning to reach academic success and future aspirations. One of the key factors influencing learning motivation is the communication pattern applied within the family. Each family has different communication dynamics, which may lead to variations in students’ learning motivation. This study aims to examine the influence of parents’ democratic communication patterns on students’ learning motivation at SMA Negeri 6 Jambi City. The research employed a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the t-test assisted by SPSS software. The results show a significance value of 0.002 (<0.05) and a t-count of 3.251 (>2.000). Therefore, the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, indicating a significant influence of parents’ democratic communication patterns on students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

Truancy is a form of disciplinary violation that negatively affects the learning process and students’ character development. This phenomenon has become a concern at SMAN 10 Merangin, prompting this study to examine the relationship between self-control and students’ truancy behavior. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 49 grade XI students selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis included normality, linearity, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The findings revealed that truancy behavior was in the high category (69%), while students’ self-control was also high (73.55%). The correlation coefficient of -0.616 with a significance value of 0.000 indicated a negative and significant relationship between self-control and truancy. This means that the higher the students’ self-control, the lower their tendency to skip classes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the levels of self-compassion and learning anxiety, as well as the relationship between self-compassion and learning anxiety among students of SMA Negeri 11 Muaro Jambi. The research used a quantitative correlational method with a Simple Random Sampling technique involving 72 students from grades X, XI, and XII in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire. The results showed that students’ self-compassion was in the high category (67%), while learning anxiety was in the moderate category (48%). The correlation test indicated a significant negative relationship between self-compassion and learning anxiety (r = -0.563, p < 0.05). This means that the higher the students’ self-compassion, the lower their learning anxiety. The findings imply that developing self-compassion through Guidance and Counseling services can be an effective strategy to reduce learning anxiety and enhance students’ psychological well-being.
