Abstract

Aim: Changes and reforms in educational systems worldwide have affected teachers’ effectiveness in the classroom. However, despite these developments, evaluating and understanding how to predict a teacher’s success is still difficult. In this study, which addresses a gap in the literature, the importance of emotional intelligence to teachers’ professional success is explored. This study investigates the link between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and professional success along its four facets: emotional regulation, emotional awareness, emotional motivation, and social ability (relationship management). Methodology: A total of 160 teachers from six different technical universities in Northeastern Nigeria were surveyed. Questionnaires were used to collect the data, then analyzed with an AI model (FFNN, LSSVM, NF, and MLR). Findings: The models were assessed using the determination coefficient (R2), root means square error (RMSE), and correlation coefficient (R). The result obtained from the simple models showed that Neuro-Fuzzy Sub Clustering Hybrid (NF-SCH) shows both training and testing, the correctness of models has been improved, which increases the accuracy of the single models up to 17%, 18%, and 20% FFNN, MLR and LSSVM for calibration and up to 40%, 73% and 70% FFNN, MLR and LSSVM for verification respectively the results show a strong connection between emotional intelligence and work satisfaction. Implications/Novel Contribution: Ultimately, this research contributes to the literature on emotional intelligence and has real-world implications for management in education administration in the Nigerian higher education system.

Abstract

Aim: The information user’s perception of a need drives their pursuit of information, which in turn causes their demands for formal and informal information sources and services, with the latter ultimately leading to success or failure. People actively seek out information and use it to complete their tasks. The public library’s goal as piece of information is to serve the community’s information needs. As a result, the public library’s primary function is to meet the informational and cultural requirements of the community at large through the information of materials and services applicable to a wide range of audiences and formats. In most cases, the local, regional, or national community, or the national government, is responsible for establishing, promoting, and funding the Public Library. Methodology: The purpose of the research is to gain insight into the habits of library users in Kalutara, Horana, Sri Lanka. The study population comprises users who frequent the main library and three satellite locations. Non-probability sampling through the convenience sampling strategy was used to select participants in this survey-based study. There was an 87% participation rate (n = 348).Findings: The results of this study show that many public library users are part of younger demographics and are students by profession. Most students in the study also regularly used the Horana metropolitan area public library. Therefore, most of their internet research is focused on school-related topics, such as those covered in class. Thus, library programs can be tailored to different demographics of young people. Implications/Novel Contribution: This research shows that the way information is discovered and the public library’s accessibility are negatively impacted by the library’s lack of resources. Current research indicates that public library administrations will put in place mechanisms to improve patrons’ access to information by modernizing reading services, updating books, expanding existing capacity, recruiting new service members, and providing electronic learning resources. Staff members must be educated appropriately to create a pleasant customer service environment. As a result of this study, we will have a much better grasp of what public library patrons are doing when looking for information. This would be useful for researchers in pinpointing methodological holes they can fill with future investigations.

Abstract

Aim: The current research aims include analyzing the impact of COVID-19 on consumer behavior patterns in the fashion retail sector, determining how the level of buyer awareness influences consumer purchase behavior, and assessing the impact of online services on consumer behavior patterns in the fashion retail sector. There needs to be more research done on how fashion retail brands can best adjust to the new normal, as well as the demand for local brands, in the face of online marketing difficulties both during and after the lockdown. Methodology: The city of Kandy, located in Sri Lanka’s hill countryside, served as a focal fashion for the research because it is home to both fashion consumers and the 10 fashion brands examined in the study. Qualitative and quantitative techniques were used in this study’s data collection, organization, and analysis. Online shopping has been identified as a trend that has signaled a rapid increase due to changes in consumer behavior and the new trends of retailers. Research Results: A majority of shoppers (51.7%, to be exact) plan to keep making their purchases online going. A subset of consumers prefers traditional commerce, but they have been forced to adapt to new trade methods based on online purchasing, and this trend is expected to persist in the future. This study’s findings lend credence to the behavior that consumers’ responses to a pandemic will be complex and multifaceted. Retailers in the fashion industry will need to pay close attention to consumer preferences and adjust their stock and marketing strategies in light of the new restrictions on discretionary spending. Implications/Novel Contribution: Suggestions could be used to improve the fashion retail industry in Sri Lanka so that it can keep up with digital advancements in the future and endure when unforeseen events, such as a lockdown or global pandemic, strike the country.

Abstract

Aim: This research paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of American political communications abroad in the fight against terrorism through the lens of soft power. Furthermore, this article explores the government’s potential media use on the front lines of the anti-terrorist struggle. It also discusses the various definitions of soft power and offers advice to any leader concerned about the potential damage to their country’s international standing due to a failure to employ such strategies. Methodology: A case study methodology was used for the data collection and analysis in this study, indicating that it is a qualitative investigation. This paper thoroughly examines the case study of the Iraq invasion. The study focused on the two most widely read US news outlets. Because of their prominence in reflecting the views of the two largest political parties in the United States, the Democrats and the Republicans, CNN and Fox News are chosen. Findings: Research results reveal on how specific countries and media outlets use communication to advance soft power are also included. Implications/Novel Contribution: The research paper has successfully provided data on the adverse effects of using hard power, as seen in the fallout from the invasion of Iraq in the years 2001-2005. This was an act of vengeance for the attacks on September 11 that rocked the United States to its core. Discusses the effectiveness of employing soft power in combating terrorism.

Forty-four (44) grads from batch 2015-2019 filled out the google form questionnaire that was sent out via email and messenger. Microsoft Excel was used to calculate and analyze the numerical data collected via Google Forms. Findings: The results demonstrated that the skills, knowledge, and experiences gained by students at the University were applicable and beneficial to their current professions. However, few graduates opened their businesses after graduation because of a lack of funding for initial investment. However, most B.S. Entrepreneurship alums were unable to launch their own businesses are now gainfully em ployed at private companies. Furthermore, most recent college graduates who aren’t working are doing so for reasons unrelated to their education or family. The study found that alums had overwhelmingly positive impressions of the University’s teaching staff, student body, and overall infrastructure. Implications/Novel Contribution: Therefore, this paper’s findings will inform Kalinga State University’s efforts to enhance the B.S.
