Abstract

Aim: Male-Headed Households (MHHs) and Female-Headed Households (FHHs) can be distinguished by the gender of the household’s primary breadwinner. Male heads of households are the norm in patriarchal societies. However, there are many situations in which a woman must take on the headship role on her own: when her husband dies, gets sick or disabled, leaves her, gets divorced, never marries, etc. Thus, this research aims to compare how FHHs were set up before and after women took charge. Methodology: This research was carried out in the Kurunegala district of the North-Western province of Sri Lanka in the five Grama Niladari divisions of the Galgamuwa divisional secretariat: Molewa, Kallanchiya, Koonw ewa, Wadugama, and Medawachchiya. Purposive sampling was used to select 100 female participants with FHHs verification. Questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were the primary methods of data collection. Surveys and case studies were employed in the study’s research. Descriptive statistics were used to examine the numbers, while the descriptive approach was used to investigate the qualitative information. Findings: Changes to FHHs are more dramatic when one or both parents move back in with their children when a child moves back in with a different guardian, when a child marries and leaves the reproductive family, when a child dies, or when a child becomes an ordained religious leader. The study focused on how the household’s economic role and decision-making authority have changed. Implications/Novel Contribution: Seventy-four percent of women in leadership roles feel that structural and functional changes have negatively impacted their lives. Several factors, including economic hardship, insecure livelihood activities, sole household responsibilities, a lack of supportive community mechanisms, gender bias in the socialization process, dependency and a subordinate mentality in decision- making, and other factors, have influenced their adverse reactions to specific functional changes after assuming the headship. Therefore, it is essential to run mobilization and empowerment programs for women heads at the grass-roots level to boost their decision-making, leadership, and active community engagement potentials. We must provide emotional support systems like therapy, mentoring, and advocacy to enhance their mental health. The study brings key policy insights for social scientists and gender studies scholars.

Abstract

Aim: The insider threat is a severe issue in cyber security. Protecting a company from the potentially disastrous actions of its own employees presents a formidable challenge, and identifying and eliminating the insider threat is a crucial part of that. This study aims to determine the types of insider threats that can exist within an organization and the best methods for countering them. Methodology: Insiders (representing types of insiders, motivation, insider access, methods used by insiders, insider profiling, and levels of insiders); Threat Detection Methods (describing methodology, techniques, datasets used to implement various insider threat detection techniques, and different analyzed user behavior); and Insider Threat Analysis (describing the various analyzed behavior of the user) are the three categories into which the research has been sorted. Findings: Since the global changes in the business environment, insider threats have become a problem for most companies. There has been an increase in the insider threat since 2019, and one primary reason is the widespread adoption of cloud computing and bring-your-own-device policies for remote work. Implications/Novel Contribution: Future studies are encouraged to improve threat detection methods, evaluate the efficacy of existing methods using a real-world dataset, and adopt a hybrid approach to developing effective models for detecting insider threats.

Abstract

Aim: Specific rural Guelmim province of Morrocco tourism attractions are highlighted here (south of Morocco). The study aims to defend this transition’s significance by focusing on the actor who can influence this key step in marketing a tourism resource. Methodology: The province of Guelmim in southern Morocco consists of 20 communes (18 rural and 2 urban) that serve as the basis for our study area’s geographical definition. To keep our research manageable, we focus on four rural communes: Assrir, Fask, Abaynou, and Amtedi. With all their peculiarities, the raw variety of resources can be traced through the qualitative analysis of comments from the surveyed literature. Institutional actors were consulted for this qualitative study, including tourism and culture delegates, municipal officials, the Regional Tourism Council, and tourism experts. Findings: From this vantage point, the operator’s role is seen as a prism through which the unique characteristics of the resource are conceptualized in its historical and cultural representatives, thereby highlighting the importance of the resource at the local territory. Implications/Novel Contribution: This article describes the unique rural tourism opportunities and its development to support economy. The study has widespread implications for tourism in several countries with similar geographical resources. .

Abstract

Aim: Located less than an hour from the red city of Marrakech, the Ourika valley is experiencing rapid (environmental, demographic, sociocultural, economic, etc.,) changes. The local way of life and conventional production methods are also being shaken up by these developments. This study’s central focus will guide this introspection and embed it within the larger framework of a territory project designed to organize these areas’ underlying resources and physical territory (what can be done; what happens there; offers channels; events). Different types of wellness tourism can be viewed as part of a sustainable, cross-border innovation and appreciation for, valorization, combination, and connection. Methodology: Since this research required an objective examination of preexisting phenomena and eve nts that could not be influenced by the researcher, we opted for a quantitative approach. The data can be analyzed by exploring the information and extrapolating the findings to the entire population. Findings: It is important to take advantage of the opportunity presented by the tourist gardens because the product can help to diversify the valley’s tourism industry. Also, the Ourika valley is off-limits for displaying or discussing aromatic and medicinal plants. This sector is indeed highly respected, professionally run, and widely recognized. Several national and international brands have recognized the quality and value of these plants in cosmetics, care, and well-being, so they are supplied to those businesses. Implications/Novel Contribution: This research delves deeper into the Moroccan tourism industry and the novel factors that boost tourism-related pursuits in the country. Other similar settings may get many policy take aways from this current research.
