Abstract

This research aims to describe an analysis of the application of the reading time strategy in increasing students' reading interest in the Al Istiqamah Simpang Empat West Pasaman High School library. The type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. The data analysis technique in this research is by examining the data, tabulating it using the Arikunto distribution formula. The results of the research show that: (a) the reading interest of students at Al Istiqamah Simpang Empat High School, West Pasaman Regency is still low because there is no strategy that can increase students' reading interest which is applied in a structured and systematic manner and carried out seriously and continuously, ( b) after analyzing the reading time strategy at Al Istiqamah Simpang Empat High School, West Pasaman Regency, it appears that it is still not working properly. This can be seen from the three stages of the reading time strategy (habituation, development and learning) which are still rarely implemented, and (c) the reading time strategy is very likely to be implemented at Al Istiqamah Simpang Empat High School, West Pasaman Regency, where one of the main factors supporting the implementation of the reading time strategy The library of Al Istiqamah Simpang Empat High School, West Pasaman Regency, has a large and up-to-date collection.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku pencarian informasi Mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Tahun Masuk 2020 Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian kuantitatif metode deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Tahun Masuk 2020 Univesitas Negeri Padang. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi sastra indonesia tahun masuk 2020 fakultas bahasa dan seni universitas negeri padang yang sedang membuat tugas yang berjumlah 87 orang. Sampel yang diambil dari penelitian secara keseluruhan karena populasi kurang dari 100 maka sampel yang digunkan dalam penelitian ini adalah 87 orang. Data penelitian ini di peroleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner secara langsung kepada mahasiswa. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan rumus hitung frekuensi relatif dan persentasse. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa perilaku pencarian informasi Mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Tahun Masuk 2020 Universitas Negeri Padang dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi adalah positif. Hasil tersebut diketahui dari skor rata-rata yang didapat yaitu 3,14 skor ini berada pada skala interval 2,52 – 3,27 kategori positif. Mahasiswa Program Studi Sastra Indonesia Tahun Masuk 2020 Universitas Negeri Padang memiliki perilaku pencarian informasi dengan menentukan topik informasi terlebih dan memilih informasi yang urgen untuk pembelajaran dan juga memilah informasi agar sesuai dengan yang diajarkan oleh dosen.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: (1) how user education (user education) in the library of the Islamic State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang, (2) how the use of the library in the library of the Islamic State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang, and (3) how the influence of user education (user education) on the use of the library of the State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol Padang. This study uses a descriptive type of research using quantitative methods through the distribution of questionnaires as a data source. The population in this study were students of the Islamic State University of Imam Bonjol Padang with the determination of the sample through simple random sampling technique which is a random sampling technique without regard to the existing strata in the population. The results of the research questionnaire that the author conducted are as follows: (1) user education at the library of the Islamic State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang is classified as high because it has an average of 4.08 which is in the interval range of 3.41-4.200 in the high category. , (2) the use of the library in the library of the Islamic State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol Padang is classified as high which has an average of 4.13 in the interval range of 3.41-4.20 in the high category, (3) there is a significant influence between user education with the use of the library at the Imam Bonjol Padang Islamic State University library, which is 0.687 in a scale range of 0.61-0.80, it is quite strong.

Abstract

This study examines the perceptions of students of the Department of Information Science and Library FBS UNP Class of 2021 towards information search using ChatGPT. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The research population was 249 students with a sample of 72 students. The sampling technique used simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study by verifying the data, then tabulating and processing the data by calculating using the mean formula to calculate the average per statement item, as well as calculating the grand mean to calculate the total average of each indicator. The results showed that the perceptions of students of the Department of Information Science and Library FBS UNP 2021 Angaktan towards information search using ChatGPT have responded well.

Abstract

"Perceptions of Library Use on Thesis Writing Motivation of Library and Information Science Students at Padang State University." Thesis. Library and Information Science Study Program, Department of Information and Library Science, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Padang State University. This research was motivated by the lack of motivation to use the library in looking for reading materials for thesis writing within the Padang State University environment. Most students look for references more from the internet such as Google Scholar and the UNP digital library than from the library, resulting in fewer library visits at the Faculty of Languages and Arts. This research aims to describe the perception of library use on the motivation for writing a thesis for Library and Information Science students at Padang State University. This research is quantitative research. The population in this study was 97 people and the sample for this study was 50 Library and Information Science students at Padang State University using a simple random sampling technique using the Slovin formula. The analysis of this research uses the T test. The results of this research show (1) Perception of library utilization of Padang State University Library and Information Science students in the Good category (2) Padang State University Library and Information Science student's thesis writing motivation in the Good category (3) Library utilization has a significant effect on student thesis writing motivation Padang State University library and information science.
