Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has not ended, so the learning process is still being carried out online. This results in ambiguity about how to teach. Language learning must be able to improve language skills, but some of these skills are difficult to teach. Based on the survey, speaking skills are the most difficult skills to teach online. Efforts are needed to overcome this, because speaking is considered the ultimate goal of language learning and the most basic skill to achieve. The purpose of this study was to develop dialogic-interactive media to improve students' speaking skills. The type of research used is development research using the Plomp Model (Preliminary Research, Prototype Phase, & Assessment Phase). Based on the research stages, the research objectives described in this article are to (1) describe the results of development research at the Preliminary Research stage and (2) describe the results of development research at the Prototyping Phase. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive data analysis technique. Based on the results of the study, it is shown that the use of learning methods and media in learning to speak has not helped students to improve their speaking skills. Therefore, interactive dialogical media were developed (introduction, interactive setting, everyday talk, learning talk, teaching talk, presenting; questioning; extending) and the teacher had a good response to the media model developed for use in learning to speak.

Abstract

Profesi Guru sudah ada semenjak Indonesia merdeka. Selama itu, guru identik dengan pendidik yang berfokus pada pengajaran, pembimbingan, motivasi dan evaluasi kepada siswa. Saat ini, seorang guru profesional diwajibkan untuk menghasilkan publikasi ilmiah baik dalam bentuk buku, artikel maupun makalah yang didiseminasikan dalam forum ilmiah. Tidak sedikit dari guru menghindari dan menyepelekan kegiatan menulis ilmiah ini sehingga kuantitas dan kualitas tulisan ilmiah yang dihasilkan guru masih jauh dari harapan. Hal ini secara tidak langsung menggangu proses perbaikan kualitas guru, kualitas sekolah hingga kesejahteraan dari guru itu sendiri. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan keengganan guru sekolah dasar dalam menulis ilmiah berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan selama kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di kota Solok. Hal ini diharapkan menjadi catatan penting bagi perguruan tinggi, pemerintah daerah dan kementerian untuk bersama-sama mengevaluasi kesulitan yang dialami guru untuk didapatkan solusi di masa mendatang.

Abstract

This research discusses the librarian's paradigm of reference services at the Andalas University Library. The purpose of this study was to describe the librarian's paradigm of reference services at the Andalas University Library. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques by means of semi-structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with three informants who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the ability of the University Library reference librarian using the RUSA theory (2003). Some librarians have fulfilled the five RUSA competencies and some have not mastered them, namely the competencies of access, knowledge base, promotion, collaboration, and evaluation. For this reason, librarians are expected to learn things related to current library developments.Keywords: Librarian Paradigm, Reference Services, Librarian Competence.

Abstract

User satisfaction can be achieved if the library provides good quality service. Therefore, libraries must focus on user satisfaction. To be able to find out the services that users want, need and expect, it is necessary to conduct research on users. This is done so that there is no difference in perception regarding what the library provides to users and what users actually want and need. Based on the problems above, the research aims to analyze the quality of services provided by the Padang State University FEB Library using the ServQual method. In the ServQual model, the user's perception of the service received (perceived service) is the result of a series of internal company decisions and activities. The quality of service provided by Padang State University FEB Library still cannot satisfy customers. This can be seen from the negative gap value of the ServQual score. Of the 23 service attributes, there are 13 attributes that have a negative value that cannot be accepted by users and 10 attributes that can still be tolerated by users.

Abstract

A good library management is very much determined by a system built in the library. One of the subsystems that has to come into attention is the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). With a well-developed SOP (valid, systematic, and clear), a library can operate well in supporting the works of the librarians. One of the most important SOPs in the works of library is the preservation SOP. A good preservation SOP is a standard which can be used by all libraries nationwide. This research is aimed at producing a preventive preservation SOP to prevent biota damage in the forms of flowchart. This research was conducted at Dispusipda library, UPT LIPI library and Goethe-Institute library. Methods used in this research is action research due to implementative actions at some libraries. This research produces a design of SOP on preservation part on printed collections which function as working guidance to lay down work procedure on an SOP guidance and decreasing errors by the librarians, to improve work effiency and quality of the libraries. This SOP design is made to meet three parts involved in maintenance of printed collections, from preventive care to curative repairment actions on printed collections. According to these three flows, an SOP design is made with main SOP, preservation SOP for biota prevention.

Abstract

Vandalism is a violation of rules in the library, which includes deleting, tearing, and other actions that damage collections. This study aims to identify forms of vandalism that occur in The Library of Lima Puluh Kota and its prevention efforts. The study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed by data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the vandalism that occurred at The Library of Lima Puluh Kota included returning books past the deadline, deleting and tearing of pages, and using other people's Library Membership Cards. Librarians have made various prevention efforts, such as reminding the return schedule, giving warnings and sanctions, improving security systems and conservation preservation. However, obstacles occur due to limited facilities and infrastructure due to budget constraints, as well as time constraints for librarians in carrying out activities to prevent vandalism of library materials

Abstract

Program kemitraan masyarakat ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan untuk mendukung aktivitas literasi sekolah di MTsN 1 Pesisir Selatan. Target capaian dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) Meningkatkan kualitas SDM dalam mengelola perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai arti pentingnya perpustakaan dalam pembelajaran siswa sekolah, 2) Meningkatkan budaya baca dan aktivitas literasi di lingkungan sekolah, 3) Memberikan pelatihan dalam mengoperasikan Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) dalam pengelolaan Perpustakaan di MTsN 1 Pesisir Selatan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dimulai dengan memberikan sosialisasi literasi sekolah untuk menumbuhkan minat baca pada diri siswa agar kemampuan literasi dapat meningkat dan efektif. Lalu memberikan sosialisasi kepada guru staf perpustakaan untuk peningkatan kualitas SDM dalam mengelola perpustakaan sekolah untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran mengenai arti pentingnya perpustakaan dalam pembelajaran siswa sekolah. Memberikan pelatihan terkait dengan pekerjaan teknis pengelolaan perpustakaan yang meliputi layanan, tata kelola perpustakaan, dan pemeliharaan koleksi perpustakaan, setelah itu dilanjutkan dengan memberikan pelatihan dalam mengoperasikan Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) dalam pengelolaan perpustakaan. Untuk evaluasi ketercapaian tujuan akan dilakukan pengamatan penerapan pengoperasian perangkat dan software perpustakaan sekolah SliMS, serta melihat sejauh mana pengelolaan perpustakaan bisa menarik minat siswa dalam memanfaatkan koleksi buku dan menumbuhkan minat baca. Diskusi dengan pihak petugas perpustakaan terhadap hasil akhir praktik pembimbingan dalam pengenalan software SliMS dan pengelolaan perpustakaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan optimalisasi layanan pojok baca di Perpustakaan UPT Universitas Andalas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa aktif Universitas Andalas yang berjumlah 40.389 orang, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, dokumentasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Analisis data melibatkan uji validitas dan reliabilitas, pengujian hipotesis, dan dibantu oleh aplikasi SPSS versi 26.0. Tahapan penelitian termasuk pemeriksaan data (editing) dan tabulasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan pojok baca secara signifikan meningkatkan minat mahasiswa untuk mengunjungi perpustakaan, dengan skor 3,25 dari skala 4. Secara spesifik, alasan penggunaan layanan pojok memperoleh skor 3,3, penilaian terhadap layanan memperoleh skor 3,31, hasil dari pemanfaatan layanan memperoleh skor 3,27, perhatian dalam meningkatkan minat kunjungan memperoleh skor 3,29, kesenangan dalam berkunjung memperoleh skor 3,29, dan kesediaan untuk berkunjung memperoleh skor 3,09. Semua skor ini berada dalam kategori tinggi hingga sangat tinggi, menunjukkan efektivitas layanan pojok baca dalam meningkatkan kunjungan perpustakaan di kalangan mahasiswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the interpersonal communication skills of librarians in the self- circulation services at the Andalas University Library. The background of this research is the ineffective interpersonal communication by librarians, which causes difficulties for users in finding the information they need. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The study informants consisted of three librarians and two users selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and verification stages. The results showed that the aspects of openness and empathy among librarians were not effectively applied, while the aspects of supportiveness, positiveness, and equality were well implemented. The lack of openness led to difficulties for users in obtaining the necessary information, while the lack of empathy made users feel neglected. On the other hand, good supportiveness, positiveness, and equality increased the comfort and trust of users. This study suggests the need for training for librarians to improve openness and empathy, as well as regular evaluations of librarians' interpersonal communication skills to ensure optimal service quality. This research is essential for enhancing library service quality and user satisfaction especially in self-circulation service.

Abstract

Biro Kesejahteraan Rakyat Sekretariat Daerah Provinsi Sumatera Barat (Biro Kesra Setda Sumbar) mengembangkan Sistem Informasi Rumah Ibadah (SIRAHMAH) dalam rangka meningkatkan pelayanan publik kepada masyarakat dalam urusan hibah rumah ibadah, lembaga, dan organisasi keagamaan. Jumlah penerima hibah yang tidak sebanding dengan jumlah pegawai yang ada di Biro Kesra Setda Sumbar menyebabkan banyaknya masalah operasional, seperti antrian yang panjang, waktu pelayanan yang lama, dan beban kerja yang tinggi bagi pegawai. Oleh karena itu, SIRAHMAH ini diciptakan dalam rangka mengoptimalkan proses pelayanan dan mengatasi berbagai kendala yang ada, sehingga dapat memberikan pelayanan yang baik dan kepuasan bagi masyarakat penerima hibah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Technology Acceptence Model yang terdiri dari perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using technology, behavior intention to use dan actual use untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi penerimaan penggunaan SIRAHMAH. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai Biro Kesra Setda Sumbar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 4 hipotesis yang diterima dan 3 hipotesis yang ditolak. Hipoetsis yang ditolak disebabkan karena faktor demografis pengguna, masa penggunaan sistem yang relatif baru, dan penggunaan sistem yang tidak merata di seluruh bagian organisasi.
