Abstract

The objectives of research were: 1) to analyze whether or not there is a significant effect of the Sangiran Museum existence on the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students, 2) to analyze whether or not there is a significant effect of leaning interest on the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students, and 3) to analyze whether or not there is an effect of the Sangiran Museum existence and the learning interest on the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students. The population of research was of the eleventh and twelfth graders of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo. The sample consisted of 60 students taken using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The necessary data was obtained using questionnaire and documentation. The result of regression analysis obtained linear regression equation. It could be seen from the following linear regression equation: Y = 17.229 + 0.496X1 + 0.310X2. The result of the hypothesis test can be conclude : (1) The hypothesis ?The existence of Sangiran Museum affected positively the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students? was supported. It was based on the multiple linear regression analysis (t-test) obtaining tstatistic > ttable­ 5.185 > 2.021 and significance value of 0.000 < 0.05,  with relative contribution of 82.9% and effective contribution of 44.5%. (2) The hypothesis ?Learning interest affected positively the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students? was supported. It was based on the multiple linear regression analysis (t-test) obtaining tstatistic > ttable­ 2.685 > 2.021 and significance value of 0.010 < 0.05,  with relative contribution of 17.1% and effective contribution of 9.2%. (3) The hypothesis ?The existence of Sangiran Museum and the learning interest affected positively the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students? was supported. It was based on multiple linear regression variance analysis (F-test) obtaining Fstatistic > Ftable­ 15.355 > 3.230 and significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. (4) The coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.537, indicating that the 53.7% of the historical awareness of SMA Negeri Gondangrejo students was affected by existence of Sangiran Museum and the learning interest, while the rest was affected by other variables. Keywords: existence, interest, and awareness

Abstract

The objectives of article were: (1) to find out the social-cultural background of Serat Candrarini, (2) to find out the content and the effect of Serat Candrarini in Kasunanan Surakarta Palace?s life during the reign of Paku Buwono IX, and (3) to find out the relevance of content and the effect of Serat Candrarini in Local History course in College.This research employed historical method. The data sources used particularly were primary and secondary sources. Technique of collecting data used was historical analysis one. The data analysis used historical technique.Result of this research stated: (1) the emergence of serat candrarini was due to condition of social and culture. Such as many polygamy that happened and due to people from lower class until higher class. (2) Serat Candrarini described physic, characters, and behavior of Arjuna five wives that show how the attitude and behavior of women so the marriage life maintained although she become co-wives. (3) Result of this research has a dictated aim that can be applied in polygamy household life or education, especially in collage.Keywords: Javanese Women, Serat Candrarini, Lesson

Abstract

This research aims at describing: (1) the history of Japanese Navy, (2) the roles of Japanese Navy in the war of Japan-Russia in 1904-1905, (3) the development of Japan Navy after the war of Japan-Russia  in1904-1905, (4) the relevance between the roles of Japanese Navy in the war of Japan-Russia in 1904-1905 and history study in the eleventh grade of Senior High School.The method used in this research is Historical method that is defined as an activity of solving problem by collecting history sources that are relevant to the problems being focused in order to understand past event. The sources may involve primary and secondary sources that can be obtained in library, documents centre, and museum.Based on the research it can be concluded that: (1) Emperor Meiji who is well known with Meiji Restoration implemented wisdom for the development of his economy and military that was then known as watchword Fukoku Kyohei (rich countryandstrong military), (2) through Satsuma clan it was established Japanese Navy following Britain?s system, in 1869 Meiji imperial established Navy academy  (Kaigan Heigakku) in Tsukuji, Tokyo, (3) in 1904-1905 Japan Navy took a part in the war between Japan and Russia ended with Japan?s victory, (4) the Japan?s victory of Russia had effect not only to Japan nation but also the rising of nationalism spreading in the whole of Asia. Keywords: Meiji Restoration, Japanese Navy, War

Abstract

The aims of this research to find out: 1) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement; 2) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement for the students with high activeness; 3) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement for the students with low activeness; and 4) the interaction between learning method and social science learning activeness of students on the improvement of Social Science learning achievement in the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar.This study was a True-experimental design. The method employed was experiment. The population of research was the VIII graders of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014, in the even semester. The population of research was the VIII graders, consisting of 135 students. The sample of research was taken using Random Sampling technique. The sample consisted of 54 students divided into experiment (30 students) and control (24 students) groups.The conclusions of research were as follows. 1) There was a significantly different effect of jigsaw and lecture learning method uses on the student learning achievement in social sciences subject with F statistic value = 10,756 > 4.03. The result of multiple comparative test showed a significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; it was due to different learning metode use. 2) There was no significantly different effect of lecture/conventional and jigsaw learning methods on the students with high activeness with F statistic value = 19.877 > 4.03.  The result of multiple comparative test showed no significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; it was because the students had equal activeness in which they had equally high activeness. 3) There was a significantly different effect of jigsaw and lecture learning methods on the students with low activeness.  The result of multiple comparative test showed a significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; the mean value of social sciences learning achievement in jigsaw method was 79.33, while that in lecture method was 69.47; it indicated that different methods had an effect on social sciences learning achievement. 4) There was a significant interaction effect of learning metode use and student learning activeness on the social science learning achievement with F statistic value = 4.531 > 4.03. Thus, it could be found that jigsaw method was more effectively used in learning activity to improve learning achievement and activeness of social science subject in the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar.Keywords: effectiveness, jigsaw method, lecture method, activeness, learning achievement.

Abstract

The objective of research was to find out: (1) the background of landrente implementation and the implementation of landrente in East Indies by Raffless in 1811-1816, (2) the implementation of landrente in Madiun in 1811-1816, (3) the effect of landrente on land mastery in Mangunharjo Subdistrict of Madiun in 1860-1870, (4) the effect of landrente on land use in Mangunharjo Subdistrict, Madiun in 1860-1870.This study employed a historical research form, an undertaking to study and to explore the facts and to drawn a conclusion concerning the past events. In this research, source analysis technique was used with historical research method. The source employed included primary sources encompassing archive and document in the period of landrente enactment, and secondary sources encompassing books, article, and interview related to landrente particularly in Madiun.Considering the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) land rent (landrente) system in Madiun had started to be enacted during Raffles reign in 1811-1816 in, among others, Mangungharjo Subdistrict, Madiun City, (2) the application of landrente affected the land mastery and land use by the society, (3) the society land mastery changed from individual land ownership into communally land ownership (land communalization) pattern, while the society land used changed from agricultural purpose with rice as main commodity into sugarcane land opening. Keywords: landrente, landrente in Madiun.
