Rekayasa Mekanika is scientific journal on mechanical sciences and engineering field, either pure or inter disciplinary works. This journal is a continuation of Rekayasa Mekanik which changed its name since April 2022. This journal publishes 6 articles for each issue, April and October. Starting April 2025, this journal publishes 10 articles. Authors are cordially invited to submit his/her research, review or monograph papers in English or Indonesian.

Abstract

Analysis of Fuel Consumption in Volvo ADT A35C Heavy Equipment 45 In terms of the effect of nozzle damage at PT Firman Ketaun. One of the components contained in the Volvo ADT A35C 45, which affects the combustion system is the injector, the purpose of this study is to determine the factors that cause damage to the Volvo ADT A35C 45 nozzle on fuel consumption. This study uses an injector tester to check fuel fogging, then to calculate fuel consumption where data collection is carried out before the nozzle component is replaced and after the replacement is made. For good fogging of the nozzle components where changes have been made, the pressure is 260-270 bar but In the data from the results of the condensation process, it was found that at the lowest pressure on the old 4 nozzle test, where the pressure was 220-230 bar and bad fogging occurred thirst for the nozzle components, and the highest pressure was obtained in the old 6 nozzle test, where the holes were clogged due to crust on nozzle surface. From these data, it is also found that the difference in fuel consumption of 0.64 liters, multiplied by the length of time operating in ± 250 months (working hours) x Rp. 7,680.00 (costs saved per hour) is Rp1,920,000.00. If multiplied by one year / 12 months, the company will save IDR 23,040,000.00. Then if it is multiplied by the total Volvo ADT A35C units operating at pt Firman per year as many as ± 23 units, the company can save fuel consumption costs for one year, namely Rp.529,920,000.00

Abstract

TES Hydroelectric Power Plant is engaged in power generation. In the process of generating electricity, hydro power relies on a turbine unit that can convert the potential and kinetic energy of water into electrical energy. In the process of the turbine producing electrical energy there are many obstacles that occur which result in a reduction in the productivity of the turbine work, one of the causes is misalignment of the shaft. Misalignment on the shaft can be overcome by carrying out an alignment process which aims to make the shaft return to its initial position so that it is parallel to the other shaft. The alignment process is carried out to get the axial and radial values on the shaft which is then carried out by the adjusting process. The adjusting process is carried out so that the position of the shaft that is out of tolerance returns to the tolerance position and the work of the turbine can return to normal.

Abstract

PT. XYZ uses CNC flame cutting technology to produce steel bridge material with the principle of thermal cutting which will cause the phenomenon of heat transfer and heat affected areas. By using the inverse method to determine the application of heat on the SM520B steel plate. The JIS G3106 SM520B steel plate is formed from a Heat Affected Area (HAZ). This happens because of differences in cutting temperature and the temperature of the Steel Plate. The analysis results obtained from conformity with the Box Girder design. In the Box Girder design, the active load is given a distance of 60 mm from the heat- area affected so as not to fatigue.

Abstract

The innovation CNC lathe is one of the machine tools with two axis. The X and Y axis are very influential in producing precision products the axis on the lathe because the axis on the lathe is as a tool for driving the chisel. To determine the precision or not of the motion of the axis, it is necessary to do a cutting test (Cutting Test) then the results of the cutting test are measured for precision using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). In the cutting test, the ISO 13041-6-M4 Series is used. In this cutting test, a radius of 50 mm is used, the test object can be reused, but the programmed radius should not be more than ± 10% of the nominal radius. The circle deviation tolerance is 0.025 mm. From the measurements made, the largest error value is 1.825056 mm in the first measurement in the CW direction, while the smallest error value is 1.824025 mm in the three-way CCW measurement, the resulting deviation continues to increase along with the cutting direction. The magnitude of the deviation, and the motion between the X-axis and the Z-axis are not collaborating with each other and not constant. This is because from the starting point of the cut on the X axis to the Z axis the deviation is getting bigger. resulting in inaccurate results from the cutting test. From the cutting test and measurements made, it can be concluded that it is necessary to make improvements to the Z axis motion.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of UVW’s 6 Refinery Units that the main business is process crude oil and intermediate product (Alkylfeed, HSDC, slop oil, LOMC, Long residue, Raw PP) become finish product. One of the important equipments is pump that the example type is AVAK P-14 Centrifugal pump which is located in the Oil Pump House section. The problem is that there is a bend in the shaft due to lack lubrication on the bearing. Because of that, the pump is difficult to rotate by the motor that it occur stuck. The method solve the problem by using visual inspection and measuring dimension. The result is that pump has a bend in the shaft due to lack of lubrication in the bearing so heat due to friction between the shaft and the bearing which continue to rotate at high speed. In overcoming this problem, re-measurement dimension of pump and carried out suitable handling of the damaged pump components.

Abstract

PD. XYZ that is located in Soeprapto Dalam, Bumi Ayu, Selebar District,  Bengkulu is engaged in the metal working, construction and workshop. To facilitate the process, a machine is needed to help speed up each process. Tools  machine are used to make human work easy. Drilling process is one of the machining process that the aim is to enlarge the diameter of the excavator bucket hole. The purpose of this study are determine drilling process of a bucket excavator and observe the result of drilling on a line drilling machine. The research used a drilling line TPX6113 type that the chisel is YG6. Drilling process is carried out with three feeding process, namely 4mm, 2mm and 2 mm that the feeding speeds are 20 rpm and 31.5 rpm. The result is the smoothest process drilling in the high speed
