Abstract

More than 40 kinds of vegetable and melons are grown in Uzbekistan. From the main vegetable crop varieties tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, cabbage, beets, sweet and spicy peppers, eggplant, greens, watermelon, melon, pumpkin are planted in large fields. In recent years, export-oriented tours such as rose cabbage, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi, daikon from less common vegetable crops are gaining ground. The soil-climatic conditions of Uzbekistan are rich in vitamins, environmentally friendly, very suitable for the cultivation of export-oriented products. The length of the days of the groom in our country and the high temperature increase the amount of biologically active substances and vitamins contained in the products of vegetables, melons. This is increasing the demand for our products. Today, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, cabbage, soup beets, sweet and spicy peppers, eggplant, Redis, greens, cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi, iceberg salad, watermelon, melon products are exported from vegetable crops. From Uzbekistan in January-July, 2020 amounted to 147.1 million of US dollars, vegetables were exported. In order to increase the export potential, more than 60 varieties of vegetables and melons have been created at the Research Institute of vegetable, melons and potatoes in recent years. The main style of our selection works is separated from the collection the forms of motherhood and chattering works are conducted. Descendants of hybrids are divided on the basis of tests, prospective forms are selected. Perspective lines are divided into perspectives for a test the new variety in standard variety. Then, small and large varieties are tested with zoned varieties in Test nurseries. At the same time, primary seeding of perspective lines is organized. Prospects based on the results of the competition and production will be submitted to the state variety test Commission. On the basis of this method, a selection of tomato, cucumber, onion, watermelon and melon crops is carried out. This article describes the results of the selection work obtained in recent years.

Abstract

The study sought to examine the extent of the reliability of four elements of research in effective mitigation of Covid-19 pandemic for rapid global health and economic recovery. Ex-post facto research design was adopted for the study. The study was conducted in Nigeria. The population of the study comprised social researchers, psychologists, and medical researchers. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 50 Social researchers, 50 psychologists, and 50 medical researchers, giving a total of 150 respondents constituting the sample size for the study. The Main Instrument used in this study was a Questionnaire titled “Elements of Research and Effective Mitigation of Covid-19 Pandemic (EREMCPQ)”. Face validation of the instrument was carried out to ensure that the instrument has the accuracy, appropriateness, completeness and the language of the study under consideration. Cronbach Alpha technique was used to determine the level of reliability of the instrument. The reliability coefficient obtained was 0.84 and this was high enough to justify the use of the instrument. The researcher subjected the data generated for this study to appropriate statistical techniques such as simple regression. The test for significance was done at 0.05 alpha levels. The study concluded that there is significant joint influence of the four elements of research (objectivity, systematicity intellectuality and purposefulness in that order) on effective mitigation of Covid-19 pandemic for rapid global health and economic recovery. One of the recommendations was that It is pertinent that medical and social researchers need to prioritize the four elements of research when (objectivity, systematicity, intellectuality and purposefulness) if their quest for mitigation of covid-19 must be yield a useful result.

Abstract

The study investigated the extent of teachers’ Participation in Students’ and Staff’s Discipline in secondary schools as determinants of teachers’ Morale in Imo State. The population of this study consisted of all 5047 teachers in the 275 public secondary schools in Imo State under the six (6) Education Zones. The study adopted Correlational Survey Design while simple random sampling technique was used in selecting the respondents. Data was obtained using a research questionnaire tagged “Participation in School Governance Questionnaire (PSGQ) and Teachers Morale Questionnaire (TMQ. Data obtained from the respondents was analysed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) while Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 alpha levels. It was concluded that there is no significant relationship between teachers’ participation in staff’s discipline and morale of teachers in Imo State Secondary Schools. On the other hand, it was observed that there is significant relationship between teachers’ participation in students’ discipline and morale of teachers, in Imo State Secondary Schools. One of the recommended was that teachers should be allowed to participate in maintaining discipline among students and teachers, so that there will be a conducive environment for teaching and learning which will boost their morale as well as improving and promoting effective learning
