Abstract

In building construction brick is one of the major ingredients in the material used for construction. In the process of brick making, it has to be burn in kiln which introduced to evolve the CO2 gas in major quantity. This CO2 gas pollutes the environment. So the solution on this disadvantage of the burnt clay bricks is replacing the bricks with another material i.e. bricks made from waste plastic bottles. Today we need cost effective and environment friendly material which not pollute the environment. Therefore We can use the waste plastic bottles for making an affordable house. This project report consist of use of plastic waste bottle in construction as a brick which the bottles are filled with mixture of sand and soil with proportion of 40%-60% in three layers and tamp each layer with tamping rod by 25 blows and use as a brick in construction. Therefore, there were two types of experiments were used to evaluate the properties plastic bottle filled with sand and soil which are Compression test, temperature test in indoor and outdoor and humidity. The compression test conducts on 1000 ml, 600ml and 300 ml bottle. As a result all the bottles are achieving the strength over the permissible limit required for burn clay brick. The comparison of indoor and outdoor wall temperature, air Humidity between the plastic bottle green house and normal brick house has indicate that plastic bottle has recorded highest reading for outdoor wall temperature with 36°C and indoor temperature is 27°C . From these result it can be concluded that plastic bottle house have a potential to us this material in construction.

Abstract

The implementation of automobile technology education curriculum to produce technological know-how graduates through effective teaching and learning in higher institutions cannot be achieved without the availability and utilization of mechatronics facilities. The paper investigated the availability and utilization of mechatronics facilities in higher institutions in North-Central, Nigeria and the way forward. The paper highlighted on the concept of high institution, mechatronics systems, automotive mechatronics, mechatronic systems facilities, availability and utilization mechatronic systems facilities in high institution as well as way forward in the provision of mechatronic systems facilities in higher institutions. Conclusions were drawn and recommendations include among others, Government should provide adequate facilities to higher institutions workshops using current strategies identified to ensure acquisition of relevant skills, and knowledge and experience that are relevant to the growth of the country

Abstract

The problem of the relationship between dental and somatic health in children and adolescents is of interest to researchers and does not lose relevance. First, this is due to the tendency to increase the frequency of somatic and dental diseases in children. Secondly, this is due to the fact that there are modern concepts of the development of diseases, new clinical forms of pathologies, improved methods of research, diagnosis and treatment (1,2,4,13).

Abstract

The expensive, inefficient and unreliable nature of the existing communication systems, makes them inadequate for use in raising security awareness in local areas such as the University of Bamenda campus. With the current sociopolitical crisis in the region, there is a need for a reliable communication system which can be used to improve upon the security of staff and students on campus. This research project proposes a solution which is cost, time and power efficient. This system was analyzed and designed by following an evolutionary prototyping life cycle model which consists of developing a robust prototype in a structured manner which is constantly refined with user feedback to get a better end product. Mathematical analysis of the system components was used to determine the system specifications for the project. This solution has a low power requirement and does not depend on mobile networks. Simulation results showed our system is capable of receiving and transmitting information without any degradation of the signal within a 100m range when supplied with a 9V dc supply.
