Abstract

This research explores the concept of land ownership as presented in two major holy scriptures: the Noble Qur'an and the Torah. The primary problem addressed in this study is the divergence and convergence of ownership rulings within these texts and their implications for understanding religious law. The objective is to clarify the rulings regarding land ownership in both scriptures and to assess the degree to which these rulings are applied by Jewish communities. To achieve this, the study employs a comparative analytical method, beginning with an introduction to the status of the holy books, followed by an examination of the concept of land ownership and its conditions in the Qur'an. It then investigates similar rulings in the Torah and evaluates the consistency of their practical application among Jews. The findings indicate that Islamic law on land ownership, as derived from the Qur'an, is comprehensive, just, and rooted in monotheism, whereas the Torah includes provisions that have undergone interpretation and alteration over time, leading to varying practices among Jewish followers. These results underscore the superiority and coherence of Islamic legislation in maintaining divine intent and justice. This study contributes to interfaith understanding by providing an informed comparative perspective on religious laws, reinforcing a Muslim's conviction in the integrity of Islamic teachings, and revealing deviations from divine law in other traditions. Ultimately, it highlights Islam’s unique position as a true religion grounded in Tawhid (monotheism) and sincere worship of Allah.

Abstract

This study addresses the pressing issue of global environmental degradation by exploring the relevance of Islamic prophetic traditions to contemporary ecological ethics. The research aims to uncover how selected Hadiths of Prophet Muhammad provide guidance for sustainable living and environmental stewardship within the Islamic tradition. Adopting an eco-critical analytical method, the study examines Hadiths related to key environmental concerns, including water conservation, the sacredness of nature, ecological agriculture, animal welfare, moderation in consumption, and cleanliness. Through detailed textual analysis, supported by a thematic table of Hadiths and their eco-critical dimensions, the findings reveal a comprehensive Islamic environmental ethic rooted in the interconnectedness of all creation, the concept of human stewardship (amanah) over nature, and the prohibition of wastefulness (israf) and corruption (fasad) on earth. The results demonstrate that prophetic teachings offer timeless wisdom and practical strategies for addressing modern environmental challenges, encouraging an integrated approach that links religion, ethics, and ecological action. The study’s contribution lies in showing the potential of Islamic scripture to inform environmental awareness, inspire green policy-making, and promote eco-friendly lifestyles in Muslim societies while fostering interfaith dialogue on environmental care, thereby enriching the global discourse on sustainability

Abstract

Empowerment is one of the universal Sunnahs emphasized in the Holy Qur’an, encompassing both individual and collective dimensions. While divine empowerment is granted to both believers and non-believers, its purpose differs—serving as a reward for the former and a lure for the latter. Despite its significance, the concept of empowerment in Qur’anic discourse remains underexplored, especially in its integration of spiritual and socio-political aspects. This study aims to investigate the multidimensional nature of empowerment in the Qur’an, elucidating its conceptual foundations and categorizing its types. The research employs a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, relying on thematic exegesis (tafsīr mawdū‘ī) and content analysis of selected Qur’anic verses. The study is organized into an introduction and two main sections: the first discusses the concept of empowerment in light of Qur’anic terminology, and the second analyzes its various types and implications. Findings reveal that Qur’anic empowerment transcends political or social authority, integrating spiritual, epistemological, and ontological dimensions. It is closely tied to the believers’ role as vicegerents (khulafā’) on earth, guiding them to align faith, knowledge, and action with divine purpose. Furthermore, empowerment is portrayed as a process grounded in reflection upon cosmic signs, fostering a consciousness that blends moral integrity with practical capability. The study concludes that the Qur’anic vision of empowerment promotes a balanced framework in which ethical responsibility and societal influence are mutually reinforcing. This research contributes to the growing field of Qur’anic studies by offering a comprehensive model for understanding empowerment that bridges theology, ethics, and social leadership.

Abstract

In this research, we shed light on the aesthetic values of rhetorical devices in the poetry of Badī' al-Zaman al-Hamadhānī. We studied the most common devices, which are: alliteration, good division, quotation, and inclusion. It is worth noting that this poetry has not been given its due research and investigation of its artistic elements by scholars, as most studies have focused on studying the Maqamat of Badī' al-Zaman al-Hamadhānī.Upon reaching this stage, it is necessary to record the findings of my modest research. The poet frequently employed jinās (paronomasia) in his poetry, which had a significant impact on conveying his thoughts and meanings. His usage was not artificial but rather natural, with a particular emphasis on jinās nāqiṣ (imperfect paronomasia) and its various types, including taṣḥīf (orthographic wordplay), ishtiqāqī (derivative), muḍāriʿ (similar in form), and lāḥiq (suffixal). The art of ḥusn al-taqsīm (balanced division) also occupied a wide space in his works, valued for its harmonious quality and its profound effect on the audience, enabling him to structure and divide meanings effectively. Furthermore, like his predecessors and contemporaries, he employed iqtibās (quotation) and taḍmīn (inclusion); his quotations were often direct and explicit, while his use of taḍmīn involved incorporating verses or hemistiches from earlier poets without structural alteration. These practices not only enriched the poetic discourse of his dīwān but also revealed his extensive religious and literary reservoir, demonstrating to the audience the breadth of his cultural knowledge.
