Abstract

Preface : Burns is an injury on tissue caused by overexposure to flame, steam, hot liquid, chemist substances, electrical objects and radiant. Burns are classified based on its region and degree. One of the most important factors that affect the process of burns treatment is the prevention of burns infection. Turmeric is a natural resource that may be used. Its extract helps to haste re-epithelialization, cell proliferation and collagen synthesis. Proper sustain to improve the therapy is topical sustain. Liposom is one of topical sustains which is developed in pharmacy to increase efficacy. One of the efforts is to reduce the size of particles by sonication. Purpose : This research is literature review by finding national and international journals as database. Method : Literature review is done based on inclusion requirements like journals which discuss liposom sustain in form of cream for burns, original research from 2011 until 2022, and pre-clinical or clinical research journals. Result : Based on the findings, there are 5 journals that fulfill the inclusion requirement. There are two google-scholar journals and three Pubmed journals. Analysis of journal includes the effectiveness of liposom sustain in emulsion cream to treat burns. Conclusion : Curcumin increases the growth of beta factor, stimulates angiogenesis and accumulates extracellular matrix so these factors may treat burns.

Abstract

UV rays have harmful side effects of free radicals, dry skin can reduce the body's defenses against the effects of free radicals, antioxidants have activity as a free antiradical, Carrots have antioxidant activity due to the presence of carotenoid compounds, Fatty acid content from VCO which has the function of softening and moisturizing the skin. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on physical stability in the formulation of carrot sunscreen cream preparations. As well as Knowing the effectiveness of antioxidants on carrot tubers. Research methods test the physical characteristics of the preparation (organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, adhesion and dispersion), Cycling test cream stability test and in the onewayanova test. The results of the study obtained the influence of the stability of oily texture and rancid odor in formula III (21%) and based on data analysis, the higher the concentration, the wider the distribution power of the preparation and the decrease in the adhesion of the preparation. Conclusion The addition of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) affects the stability of texture and smell in formula III (21%) and based on data analysis the addition of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) to carrot sunscreen cream (Daucus carota L.) the higher the concentration the wider the dispersal power of the preparation and the decrease in adhesion of the preparation.

Abstract

Antioxidants are antiradical compounds that can neutralize reactive free radicals into non-reactive ones that are relatively more stable so as to protect cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. Carrots have antioxidant activity due to the presence of carotenoid compounds. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of carrots. Extraction research method with maceration method. Isolation of flavonoids by column chromatography method. Antioxidant activity test using FRAP method. The results of research conducted from 60 extract fractions obtained 10 flavonoid fractions with a %TFC value 5,332%; 5,242%; 6,742%; 7,475%; 6,829%; 5,896%; 5,282%; 6,191%; 5,450%; and 5,498%. IC50 3,920; 1,960; 2,096; 2,065; 1,846; 0,867; 3,517; 1,179; 3,383; dan 3,570 ppm. In conclusion, the antioxidant activity of the ten fractions was very strong (<50 g/mL).

Abstract

Preface : Moringa oleifera L. is one plant that contains secondary metabolite compounds such as alkaloids, steroids, tannins, saponins, anthraquinones, terpenoids, and flavonoids. Flavonoids donate their hydroxyl groups to inhibit free radicals. Purpose :This study aimed to isolate flavonoid compounds from Moringa leaf ethanol extract. Method : Extraction was carried out by maceration method and continued isolation using Column Chromatography method with n-butanol: acetic acid: water (4: 1: 5) eluent. Isolate results were identified by TLC, spectro, and FTIR. Result : FTIR analysis on fraction 5 contains flavonoid derivative compounds. Conclusion : It is flavonols with a purity of quercetin of 77.99%.

Abstract

Yodium plant (Jatropha multifida L) has pharmacology effect as antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. Yodium plant contain chemical compounds, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, and tannins which have benefits in helping the healing process of cuts. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in wound healing time in rats (Rattus norvegicus strain wistar) using Yodium leaf extract cream with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. This research is a true experiment. The cuts healing were carry out on Wistar male rats that smeared by yodium leaf extract cream and be observed its healing process. The cream preparations were tested for physical quality including organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH test, spreadability test, adhesion test, and viscosity test. The results of the organoleptic test of the three formulas have a green color, distinctive aroma, and semi-solid consistency. Test the homogeneity of the three homogeneous preparations. The pH test of the three cream preparations met the pH test requirements of 4-8. Spreadability test, the three cream preparations met the requirements of 4-7 cm. In the adhesion test, the three preparations met the requirements of 2-300 seconds. The cream was applied to the backs of 0.1-gram rats with use three times a day. Coral plant (Jatropha multifida L) has healing effectiveness againts cuts in white rats (Rattus novergicus strain wistar). The cream preparation with 15% concentration of yodium leaves extract concentration was more effective in the wound healing process for 9 days. Keywords : Yodium leaf extract (Jatropha multifida L), Cream, Cuts, healing process
