Abstract

Sports mass media have recently been discussing the discourse on the naturalization of national team players. This discourse is a project initiated by PSSI (All Indonesia Football Association) and BTN (National Team Agency). The reason for doing this is to boost the national team's performance to achieve more in the international arena. This naturalization discourse has raised pros and cons in the eyes of national football lovers. This naturalization issue has been linked to media interest in reporting it. From this problem, the author has a question: how do the media in Indonesia frame the news of the Naturalization of Indonesian National Team Players in recent times? The study used qualitative research and media framing analysis techniques. Data collection was carried out by observation and observation of several media. As for the data analysis technique, this study used media framing analysis with the DNA and Visone applications to determine the media's bias in its reporting. The existence of these similarities makes a country's sovereignty that must be loved. Several specific media reports naturalized players with certain frames to lead readers to be pro or con. This study concluded that some media in Indonesia framed the news of naturalization positively because the increasing achievements of the national team can prove it. A small portion of the media viewed it negatively because it was difficult for local players to defend the Indonesian national team. Keywords: Naturalized player, Framing analysis, DNA and Visone

Abstract

Graffiti art has drawn pros and cons from the public and is considered a Form of vandalism or crime because it damages public facilities. However, for graffiti artists or bombers, graffiti is a place to express themselves. Even though it received a lot of negative responses from the public, graffiti was able to survive and continue to exist. Based on this, the author wants to know the meaning behind the activities of the bombers who chose graffiti art as a medium of expression. The author uses qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used in this article are interviews, observation, and documentation. The theory used is the theory of self-expression through the symbolic interaction approach by George Herbert Mead. The research results show that graffiti perpetrators or bombers choose graffiti as a medium for self-expression and self-existence. Graffiti allows bombers to display their work to the broader public. Keywords: Graffiti, Bombers, Self Expression

Abstract

As the use of social media platforms increases, unethical commenting often leads to conflict and creates a hostile atmosphere in cyberspace. Optimizing the ethics of commenting on social media is essential to creating a positive digital environment. This socialization activity aims to build a digital communication culture that is more civilized, respectful, and beneficial to all—creating a positive social media space where every comment is a reflection of wisdom and empathy as a user. The methods used are talk, games, and focus group discussions regarding the ethics of commenting on social media. This event was attended by 30 Dasawisma XVI mothers aged 30-40 years. This activity results in Dasawisma XVI mothers actively using social media to understand and continue to practice valuable things in their comments. This results from Mrs. Rini conveying messages and impressions as Chair of Dasawisma XVI. The Dasawisma XVI mothers can also properly sort through or use media and behave appropriately if there is a risk of encountering hoaxes or false news. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the message of the climate crisis in the lyrics of the song Telan by FSTVLST. The drastic changes in weather patterns, with the average world temperature increasing, accompanied by the emergence of extreme impacts such as floods, droughts, and rising sea levels, have attracted the world's attention. The community has felt issues related to the climate crisis, but the lack of awareness to reduce or prevent the occurrence of the climate crisis is still relatively passive. The song Telan tells about the conditions, especially in urban areas at this time, so that later it will provide us with awareness of how important it is to maintain the balance of nature. In conducting the study, the author used a descriptive qualitative method, using the Roland Barthes semiotic analysis approach using several main points, namely the meaning of denotation, connotation, and ideology in finding out the meaning of the message delivery in the form of social criticism in the FSTVLST song entitled Telan. It can be concluded that humans are the main cause of the climate crisis on earth with their actions that harm nature through the lyrics of the song Telan written by FSTVLST using metaphorical language. Abstract

One of the strong bonds resulting from a sustainable relationship between individuals is marriage. However, along the way, commitment in marriage is often accompanied by challenges and problems that often occur. Even if this situation cannot be adequately resolved, it has the potential for a divorce rate that continues to increase. Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Indonesia in 2024 explains that 408,347 cases continued to emerge and were spread across several major cities, such as West Java, East Java, Central Java, North Sumatra, and DKI Jakarta. So, it can seriously impact other family members, from children to closest relatives. Ironically, some of the adverse effects that arise can be in the form of trauma, inhibited emotional development and drastic changes in a person's mood. This study aims to analyze the role of interpersonal communication in the family in more depth. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the study results show that a concrete strategy is needed to optimise family life, one of which is the openness of communication. That way, divorce cases can be minimized to create a comfortable environment and form a positive mindset for children. Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Family, Divorce, Marriage

Abstract

Liquor has a harmful impact on individuals who consume it continuously and on the social community in the environment of individuals who consume it. One of them can be seen during the stabbing case that occurred in Yogyakarta, as well as research that states the many adverse effects of consuming alcohol on students. This study aims to determine UIN Sunan Kalijaga undergraduate students' perceptions of students who consume alcohol. This research uses the Situational Theory of Public (STP). This research uses quantitative research methods, data collection techniques, questionnaires for 100 samples, and data analysis using statistical tests and the Respondent Achievement Rate (TCR). This study shows the results that undergraduate students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga do not have an understanding and do not care about the problems or issues related to consuming alcohol among students. Abstract

Sexual violence is a serious problem that has not been resolved optimally. In 2024, the number of sexual violence cases in Indonesia reached 25,314 cases, of which 1,548 of them occurred in the campus environment. Therefore, this problem must be addressed immediately by all universities, including UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. As a religious-based higher education institution, UIN Sunan Kalijaga is responsible for upholding morals and creating a safe environment for the entire academic community. However, in reality, this has not been realized optimally. This raises a big question regarding the extent of students' understanding of this issue. Therefore, a study of this issue is important because students are one of the groups that are very vulnerable to sexual violence. The purpose of this study is to identify the perceptions of UIN Sunan Kalijaga students towards cases of sexual violence in the campus environment. This research uses a survey method by distributing questionnaires through Google Forms with 100 respondents from 21,682. The theory used in this research is the Theory of Public Identification (STP). Based on the results of the TCR test show that respondents have a high awareness of the issue of sexual violence, and most respondents also understand the importance of preventing and handling this issue. However, there is also a gap in reporting this issue. Keywords: Perception, Sexual Violence, Campus, College Student

Abstract

This study examines female fans' media consumption patterns and behavior, also known as fujoshi, in appreciating the Thai Boy's Love (BL) series in Yogyakarta City. Romantic relationships between men are depicted in the BL drama genre, which is highly desirable to female audiences. This study used a qualitative method with a case study approach to understand fujoshi's motivation, behavior, and consumption patterns toward BL. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, media content analysis, and direct observation of fujoshi community activities. The results show that fujoshi interpret BL as entertainment and a tool to explore and express views on identity, gender, and love. They actively shape new narratives and perceptions of LGBTQ+ issues through online and community interactions. This research reveals that fujoshi have different ways of receiving, interpreting, or rejecting messages from BL media using the Audience Reception Theory approach. In addition, this study shows that the popularity of BL contributes to discussions and possible social change while opening up space for greater tolerance and understanding of issues related to gender and sexual orientation in society. Kata Kunci: Boys love, Fujhosi Fans, LGBTQ+, Thai Series, Gender Identity
