Abstract

This research analyzes the moral and cultural values in the Indonesian film "WaktuMaghrib," directed by Sidharta Tata. The film explores local myths regarding thedangers associated with twilight, representing moral and cultural values throughCharles Sanders Peirce's semiotics. Using a qualitative method and analysis ofsigns such as symbols, indices, and icons, this study finds that the film not onlypresents classic horror but also delivers moral messages about unity, respect fortradition, and self-reflection. The analysis reveals that "Waktu Maghrib" offers aprofound view on the interaction between traditional beliefs and modern realities,making the film a medium for spiritual reflection as well as culturally richentertainment.

Abstract

A new challenge for law enforcement in the digital era, including in Indonesia, is cybercrime. This abstract discusses the criminal policy implemented to address cybercrime, with a particular emphasis on regulations, enforcement, and the issues faced. In recent years, Indonesia has adopted the ITE Law (Information and Electronic Transactions Law) to regulate behavior in cyberspace. However, the implementation of this policy often encounters obstacles such as a lack of trained human resources, insufficient public awareness of cyber laws, and technical issues in investigating cybercrime cases. The introduction, main section, and conclusion of the literature reviewed in this research are discussed. The data sources for this section come from relevant books, scholarly articles, or journals.Make recommendations on how to strengthen the legal framework, enhance inter-agency cooperation, and educate the public on creating a safer digital environment. With these efforts, it is hoped that criminal policies in Indonesia can be more effective in preventing and addressing cybercrime.

Abstract

This research discusses the assessment of the effectiveness of Law No. 7/2014 on trade, in the context of the sale in context selling of hazardous chemicals with things on the distribution in hard water sales circulating among the public. Weak supervision of sales, potential misuse, and non-compliance of business actors with regulations will have a significant negative impact on society. This study aims to measure whether Law Number 7 of 2014 has been effective in supervising the sale of hazardous chemicals. This research uses a normative juridical approach method, using a literature study, which includes various sources such as books, online media, dissertations, and other relevant literature. The results show that the implementation of Law No. 7/2014 has not run optimally and has not provided a strong foundation in the supervision of hazardous chemicals due to the lack of technical guidelines and unclear authority between institutions in supervision. In addition, there are no strict regulations regarding closed distribution systems or special records of sales of hazardous chemicals such as hard water. As a result, law enforcement is weak and vulnerable to abuse. To ensure the distribution of hazardous chemicals is carried out safely and in accordance with legal provisions, this study suggests the development of more specific derivative regulations, harmonization of related laws, and greater cooperation between the government and business actors.

Abstract

In today's era, every company plays a crucial role in achieving its vision and mission, which is through Human Resources (HR). Therefore, to reach the company's goals, it is essential for each company to motivate its employees to continuously improve their performance and develop. This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture, work discipline, and work motivation on employee performance at PT Bangunan Tangguh Makmur. The research involves 110 respondents as the sample, using a non-probability sampling technique in the form of saturated sampling. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires, and data analysis was conducted through a series of quality tests, including validity tests, reliability tests, and classical assumption tests, such as normality tests, multicollinearity tests, and heteroscedasticity tests. To examine the effects between variables, multiple linear regression analysis and coefficient of determination analysis were used, while hypothesis testing was performed using the t-test. The results show that organizational culture, work discipline, and work motivation have a significant simultaneous effect on employee performance at PT Bangunan Tangguh Makmur.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM), brand image, and product quality on purchasing decisions of MS Glow products in Batam. In the digital era, E-WOM is a key factor influencing consumer decision-making. Additionally, a strong brand image and guaranteed product quality play a significant role in driving purchasing decisions. A quantitative approach was used with a sample of 100 MS Glow consumers in Batam, selected using Slovin's formula, and data were collected through questionnaires. The analysis was conducted using multiple regression with SPSS 25. The results show that E-WOM (regression coefficient 0.582, t-value 12.544, p < 0.05), brand image (regression coefficient 0.626, t-value 12.214, p < 0.05), and product quality (regression coefficient 0.315, t-value 7.268, p < 0.05) have a significant positive effect on purchasing decisions. These findings suggest enhancing brand image, leveraging E-WOM, and maintaining product quality to boost purchasing decisions

Abstract

In today’s competitive environment, companies must effectively compete, with human resources playing a crucial role. Employees require training and motivation to perform optimally, enhancing the company’s competitiveness and survival. Key factors influencing employee performance include work motivation, discipline, and workload. This study analyzes the impact of incentives, work motivation, and workload on employee performance at PT Avava Duta Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a descriptive design wasused, involving 196 employees as the sample with saturated sampling. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25, including validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity tests, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination, as well as t-tests and F-tests. The findings reveal that work motivation (significance 0.001), work discipline (significance 0.007), and workload (significance 0.000) all significantly affect employee performance, with values less than 0.05. In conclusion, incentives, work motivation, and workload positively and significantly impact employee performance, both simultaneously and partially.

Abstract

This study is intended to evaluate and test the Influence of Tax Knowledge, Transparency and Quality of Tax Services on the Compliance of Individual Taxpayers at KPP Pratama Batam Selatan. The data analysis method uses quantitative in this study. The number of taxpayers registered at KPP Pratama Batam Selatan was recorded at 427,426 who became the population in this study. By using the slovin formula as a sampling technique. Using 100 respondents who are registered as taxpayers at KPP Pratama Batam Selatan. The data collection uses a questionnaire through a google form with measurements through a Likert scale.. Data processing using the SPSS version 26 program. This study provides the result that partially, Tax Knowledge has a positive and significant impact on taxpayer compliance. Transparency partially does not have a positive and significant impact on taxpayer compliance. And the Quality of Tax Services partially has a positive and significant impact on taxpayer compliance. Simultaneously, Tax Knowledge, Transparency and Quality of Tax Services have a positive and significant impact on the Compliance of Individual Taxpayers at KPP Pratama Batam Selatan.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of brand image, product quality, and electronic word-of-mouth (E-WOM) on purchasing decisions of Emina skincare products through Tokopedia marketplace in Batam City. The rapid growth of the beauty industry in Indonesia's e-commerce sector, particularly in skincare products, has made it essential to understand the factors influencing consumer purchasing behavior. Using a quantitative research approach, data was collected from 204 respondents through online questionnaires utilizing Likert scale measurements. The study employed purposive sampling method and multiple linear regression analysis to examine the relationships between variables. The findings revealed that brand image, product quality, and E-WOM each demonstrated positive and significant effects on purchasing decisions of Emina skincare products. These results provide valuable insights for skincare brands and e-commerce platforms to enhance their marketing strategies, particularly in building strong brand presence, maintaining product quality, and leveraging E-WOM effectively in the digital marketplace environment.

Abstract

The rapid economic growth has led to the emergence of many new business entities, which in turn intensifies competition across various industrial sectors. As a result, companies focus on enhancing their firm value to remain competitive. This study aims to determine whether liquidity, profitability, and firm size significantly affect firm value in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The population studied consists of 19 manufacturing companies in the textile and garment sector listed on the IDX, with a relevant sample of 11 companies. The research method employed is quantitative data collection using documentation techniques, relying on annual financial statements accessed from the official IDX website for the period 2019 to 2023. The research findings show that liquidity has a negative and significant effect on firm value, profitability does not have a significant effect, and firm size has a positive and significant effect on firm value in manufacturing companies in the textile and garment sector listed on the IDX during the period 2019-2023.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Influence Marketing, Digital Marketing and Promotion in Purchasing Decisions for Ades product in Batam City. In the ever-evolving digital era, it shows that Digital Marketing and Promotion have a positive and significant influence on Purchasing Decisions, while Influencer Marketing has an insignificant positive influence. These findings indicate the importance of the role of Influencer, Digital Marketing, and Promotions in improving customer Purchasing Decisions. The recommendation for companies is to focus more resources on collaboration with Influencers and Digital Marketing strategies to increase product attractiveness in the market. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey to respondents who are consumers of Ades product in Batam City.
