Abstract

Premature rupture of membranes is a condition where the amniotic sac ruptures early before delivery or when the gestational age has not reached 37 weeks. The aim of this study was todetermine the relationship between the incidence of premature rupture of membranes and the level of anxiety among mothers giving birth in the Kumbe Community Health Center working area in 2023. The design of this study was correlational analysis with a cross-sectional time approach. The sample in this study was 30 pregnant women approaching delivery in the Kumbe Community Health Center Working Area, Merauke Regency. The sampling method uses accidental sampling technique. Data collection uses questionnaires and observation sheets. Itis known that out of 30 respondents, 12 respondents (42.0%) experienced mild anxiety, while respondents (64.0%) experienced premature rupture of membranes. The results of statisticaltests with Chi Square show a significance level of 0.000 < α = 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, thus there is a relationship between anxiety during pregnancy and the relationship between the incidence of premature rupture of membranes and the level of anxietyin mothers giving birth in the Kumbe Health Center working area in 2023.

Abstract

Neonatal jaundice is caused by maternal, perinatal and neonatal factors. The high incidence of jaundice in the Merauke Regency Regional Hospital is of concern to researchers to determine the relationship Type of Delivery and Birth Weight with Neonatal Jaundice. This research method uses this type of research analytical observational using register measuring instruments in the Perinatal and Medical Records Room with research design cross-sectional and techniques total sampling. The population of this study is Babies aged 0-28 days who experience neonatal jaundice and are treated in the Perinatal Room of the Merauke District Hospital from January to October 2023 as many as 91 respondents, the sample is the same as the population. Statistical test using chi square to find out the relationship between 2 variables. Research results from 91 respondents were obtained The majority of respondents' birth types were at risk of developing neonatal jaundice, 54 respondents (59.3%), the majority of respondents' birth weight was LBW, 58 respondents (63.7%), and the majority of respondents experienced neonatal jaundice, 84 respondents (92, 3%). Analysis using tests Chi-Square for the type of delivery the results were obtained p = 0.003 (< 0.05) and for birth weight the value obtained p = 0.001 (< 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between type of delivery and birth weight with the incidence of neonatal jaundice in the Merauke Regency Hospital. It is recommended that delivery and care of newborns is very important by providing motivation or counseling to the mother post caesarean section and vaginal to immediately breastfeed the baby intensively so that these risk factors do not occur which result in neonatal jaundice.

Abstract

Every year in developing countries, approximately 20 million babies are born with low birth weight and 13 million babies are born with growth disorders in the womb. The high infant mortality rate in Indonesia, namely 30 per 1000 live births, makes Indonesia rank fifth with the highest number of LBW in the world and the birth of babies with low birth weight is identified as the largest contributor to the infant mortality rate. This study aims to determine the analysis of nutritional patterns and preeclampsia during pregnancy on the incidence of LBW. This research uses this type of research analytical observational with research design cross-sectional. The population of this study was 150 post-partum mothers who had given birth at term, had pregnancy complications (CED/Preeclampsia) and gave birth in the delivery room at Merauke District Hospital from January 2021 – December 2022. Statistical test using chi square to find out the relationship between 2 variables. Research results from 150 respondents were obtained The nutritional pattern of respondents is at risk of developing CED, namely 87 respondents (58.0%), Most of the preeclampsia respondents were at risk of developing preeclampsia, namely 60 respondents (40.0%) and the majority of respondents' birth weight was LBW, namely 119 respondents (79.3%). Analysis using tests Chi-Square for KEK the results were obtained p = 0.002 (< 0.05) and preeclampsia was obtained p = 0.036 (< 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between nutritional patterns and preeclampsia during pregnancy with the incidence of LBW in the Merauke District Hospital. Whether or not many pregnant women experience the nutritional status of pregnant women is also influenced by the performance of health service workers. For this reason, health workers, especially midwives, should continue to motivate through counseling and IEC as well as educating mothers about the incidence of LBW.

Abstract

Breast milk (breast milk) is a fluid secreted by the mother's breast glands in the form of natural food or the best, nutritious and high-energy milk produced during pregnancy. Breastfeeding is important for a baby's growth. Mothers who have babies must provide breast milk for 6 months and cannot provide complementary foods with breast milk. After 6 months, as a companion for optimal growth, they can be given formula milk. The aim of this research is to determine the comparison of breastfeeding and formula milk feeding to newborns within the Merauke District Hospital. The research design used is an analytical observational method with an approach cross sectional. The number of samples in this study was 60 mothers who had newborn babies with a ratio of 30:30. The research was conducted from November to December 2023. The majority of mothers were in the age range 26 – 35 years, namely 37 respondents (761.6%), that the proportion of respondents who did not work was greater than respondents who worked, namely 66.6% compared to 33.3%, the majority (38 people or 63.3%) had a high school education.  Showing normal growth were 50 babies (83.3%) and those who did not experience normal growth were 10 babies (16.6%). Most abnormal growth occurs in newborn babies, one of which is excessive weight gain due to excessive intake of formula milk from the start of the baby's birth. Comparison of breastfeeding and formula milk on the growth of newborn babies based on statistical tests using tests Chi-Square The results obtained were p = 0.000 < 0.05, so there was a significant comparison between breastfeeding and formula milk on the growth of newborn babies at the Merauke District Hospital in 2023.

Abstract

Childbirth is a process of expelling viable products of conception (fetus and urine) out of the uterus through the birth canal or other means. Induction of labor causes the mother to experience discomfort in the form of labor pain. Anxiety is one of the main factors that influences the course of labor and results in a long opening. The husband's role is a very important factor in the labor process, because the husband can foster feelings of self-confidence and form a healthy mentality, so that feelings of anxiety and fear disappear. This research uses an observational analytical research design with a cross sectional approach. Using the accidental sampling technique, a sample of 35 respondents was obtained, from 142 populations, in December at the Merauke District Hospital, the independent variables were husband's support and Misoprostol labor induction using a questionnaire and the dependent variable was maternal anxiety during childbirth using observation. The Chi-Square statistical test was used to determine the relationship between the three variables.       The results of the study showed that the total number of respondents was 35 mothers who received Misoprostol labor induction, the majority (most) received support from their husbands, namely 19 respondents (54.3%) and the most respondents experienced moderate levels of anxiety, namely 16 respondents (45.7 %), and it can be seen that the most common type of misoprostol labor induction administered vaginally to mothers giving birth was 21 respondents (60%). Analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test resulted in p = 0.012 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means it can be concluded that there is an influence of husband's support on the anxiety of mothers who receive misoprostol labor induction at the Merauke District Hospital. In this context, the husband's role as companion and supporter has a significant impact on the level of anxiety of mothers giving birth. First of all, the husband's presence during the labor induction process.

Abstract

One of the causes of insufficient breast milk production is the lack of implementation of breast care and the mother's low interest in breastfeeding regularly. This study aims to determine the relationship between breast care and interest in breastfeeding with the smooth production of breast milk (ASI) in breastfeeding mothers at posyandu in the Mopah Baru Community Health Center Working Area, Merauke Regency in 2023. This research uses an analytical observational research design with a cross sectional approach. Using a purposive sampling technique, a sample of 36 respondents was obtained, the independent variable (the relationship between breast care and interest in breastfeeding) and the dependent variable (the smooth production of breast milk (ASI)) using a questionnaire. The Chi-Square statistical test was used to determine the relationship between the two variables. The results of research from 36 respondents showed that the majority of respondents did not perform breast care, namely 24 respondents (66.7%), the majority had a high interest in breastfeeding, namely 23 respondents (63.9%), and the majority of respondents had milk production. There were 21 respondents (58.3%) who were breastfeeding smoothly. Analysis using the Chi-Square statistical test found that there was a relationship between breast care and the smooth production of breast milk (ASI) in breastfeeding mothers at the posyandu in the Mopah Baru Community Health Center Working Area, namely p value = 0.000 < 0.05, and there was a relationship between interest in breastfeeding and the smooth production of water. Mother's milk (ASI) in breastfeeding mothers at the posyandu in the Mopah Baru Community Health Center Working Area is p value = 0.001 < 0.05. Proper breast care and a high interest in breastfeeding are related to the smooth flow of breast milk so that in order to produce breast milk more smoothly, it is necessary to carry out routine breast care and it is necessary to foster a high interest in breastfeeding. Therefore, it is hoped that breastfeeding mothers can routinely apply breast care and can foster a high interest in breastfeeding so that breast milk production runs smoothly.
