Abstract

Background: Response time is an important indicator of emergency nursing service quality and may influence the anxiety level of patients' families. Delays in treatment can increase fear, uncertainty, and dissatisfaction among family members in emergencies. This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurses' response time and family anxiety levels in the Emergency Department of RSUD Undata Palu. Methods: This quantitative study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 68 respondents were selected using consecutive sampling. Nurses' response time was measured using observation sheets and a stopwatch, while family anxiety levels were assessed using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data were analyzed using frequency distributions and Fisher's Exact Test, as several cells in the cross-tabulation had expected counts less than 5. Results: Most nurses' response times were categorized as fast (≤5 minutes), with 67 respondents (98.5%) and only 1 respondent (1.5%) experiencing a slow response time. Regarding anxiety levels, 46 respondents (67.6%) experienced mild anxiety and 22 respondents (32.4%) experienced severe anxiety. Fisher's Exact Test showed no statistically significant relationship between nurses' response time and family anxiety levels (p=0.324), although mild anxiety was more frequently observed among respondents who experienced fast response time. Conclusion: Nurses' response time in the Emergency Department of RSUD Undata Palu was generally fast, and most family members experienced mild anxiety. However, there was no statistically significant relationship between nurses' response time and family anxiety levels. These findings should be interpreted cautiously due to the highly unequal distribution of response time categories.

Abstract

Background: The completeness of BPJS Kesehatan outpatient claims is essential for hospital claims management under the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. Incomplete administrative requirements, diagnosis and procedure codes, and medical documentation may contribute to pending claims and delayed reimbursement. This study aimed to describe the completeness of BPJS Kesehatan outpatient claims at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru based on these components. Methods: This quantitative study used a retrospective descriptive design at the JKN Unit of RSD Idaman Banjarbaru from July to September 2025. The population consisted of 386 pending outpatient claim files, with 196 selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured checklist and analyzed using univariate analysis, presented as frequencies and percentages. Patient confidentiality and anonymity were maintained. Results: Of 196 pending claim files, 167 (85.2%) had complete administrative requirements and 29 (14.8%) were incomplete. Complete diagnosis and procedure codes were found in 71 files (36.2%), while 125 (63.8%) were incomplete. Complete medical documentation was found in 176 files (89.8%), while 20 (10.2%) were incomplete. Common deficiencies included missing control and referral letters, incomplete diagnosis and procedure codes, and incomplete supporting medical documentation. Conclusion: Claim completeness differed across components. Incomplete diagnosis and procedure codes were the most frequent deficiency, followed by administrative requirements and medical documentation. Improving claim document completeness is important to support effective hospital claims management.

Abstract

Background: Students in health-related study programs frequently experience academic demands, clinical preparation, and organizational responsibilities that may contribute to psychological stress. Stress is known to potentially affect sleep quality and overall well-being. This study aimed to examine the association between perceived stress and sleep quality among undergraduate students in the Applied Nursing Program at Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu. Method: This quantitative analytic study used a cross-sectional design. A total of 77 students were selected from a population of 335 using simple random sampling. Stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10), while sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Stress was categorized into mild and moderate levels, while sleep quality was categorized as good or poor based on standard PSQI scoring. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results: Most respondents experienced moderate stress (53 students; 68.8%), while 24 students (31.2%) had mild stress. In terms of sleep quality, 65 students (84.4%) reported poor sleep quality, and 12 students (15.6%) reported good sleep quality. Among students with moderate stress, 94.3% experienced poor sleep quality. The chi-square test showed a significant association between stress level and sleep quality (p = 0.001). The effect size (OR/PR) and 95% confidence interval were not calculated in this analysis. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant association between perceived stress and sleep quality among undergraduate nursing students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Palu. The findings suggest the importance of stress management interventions to support better sleep quality among students

Abstract

Background: Brand image plays an important role in influencing loyalty toward healthcare services. In the increasingly competitive healthcare sector, hospitals are required to build a positive image to maintain patient loyalty and improve service sustainability. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between brand image and patient loyalty at Hospital X. Methods: This study used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design conducted at the outpatient unit of Hospital X in April 2026. A total of 100 respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a Likert scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis to describe the distribution of respondent characteristics and variables, while bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank correlation test was conducted to examine the relationship between variables. Results: The results showed that most respondents perceived the hospital’s brand image as good (91%) and had a high level of patient loyalty (81%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between brand image and patient loyalty, with a p-value of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.681, indicating a strong positive correlation. Conclusion: This study confirms a significant positive relationship between hospital brand image and patient loyalty. Patients who perceive a more positive brand image tend to demonstrate higher levels of loyalty. These findings highlight the importance of brand image as a factor associated with patient loyalty in hospitals

Abstract

Background: Independence in performing activities of daily living (ADL) is an important indicator of functional health among middle-aged and older adults. Health status and family support are considered important factors associated with the ability to maintain daily functioning. This study aimed to analyze the association between health status, family support, and independence in ADL among adults aged 45 years and older at Posbindu Tabeo, Kayumalue Ngapa, within the working area of Tawaeli Public Health Center, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. Methods: This study employed an analytical cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at Posbindu Tabeo, Kayumalue Ngapa, from July 10 to July 11, 2023. A total of 38 participants aged 45 years and older were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews using structured questionnaires. Independence in ADL was measured using the Barthel Index, while health status and family support were assessed using structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Chi-square test, with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Results: Among 38 participants, 28 respondents (73.7%) had good health status, 27 respondents (71.1%) received supportive family support, and 17 respondents (44.7%) had mild dependency in ADL. The Chi-square test showed a significant association between health status and independence in ADL (p = 0.001). A significant association was also found between family support and independence in ADL (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Health status and family support were statistically associated with independence in activities of daily living among adults aged 45 years and older at Posbindu Tabeo. These findings suggest the importance of maintaining good health status and strengthening family support in community-based health programs to help preserve functional independence. Further studies with larger samples and longitudinal designs are recommended to confirm these findings.
