Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial or Journal of Social Welfare (JIKS) is an academic journal on social welfare issues. JIKS invites academia and practitioners to send their articles to contribute their research and experiences in social welfare. A research article should be from original research and assess its contribution to social welfare. The conceptual study focuses on the empirical development of theory or concept in social welfare issues. The article can discuss theories and concepts based on themes and intervention levels. Abstract

The role of cadres is very important in improving posyandu services, therefore we need to strengthen the role of cadre as a source of health information and to encourage mothers with children under five years old to come to the posyandu. Through one of HSBC CSR programs called Pos Pintar Project, cadres are capacitated through the training of mobile-Posyandu applications so that they can provide better services to mothers with children under five years old who come to the posyandu. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of summative evaluation research. The result shows that posyandu cadres who use mobile-Posyandu applications are more helpful when monitoring the child's growth and development. The result of the monitoring submitted into the application which faster than the manual method. This application also supports cadres in providing counseling for mothers with children under five years old. It helps mothers to understand the counseling given by the cadres easier, so that they practice how to give appropriate feeding to their children. Given this situation, the capacity improvement for posyandu cadre through CSR program needs to be scaled up. However, improvement needs to made is some areas such as advocacy to the local government, staff management, as well as resolve technical issues that often appears in the mobile-Posyandu application.

Abstract

Poverty is a social welfare issue and has become the focus of world development. The most basic form of poverty is the deprivation of welfare. Poverty is experienced by many developing countries like Indonesia and nowadays it is centered in rural areas. Therefore, PT Nestle as part of the private sector has an obligation to support and help solve poverty experienced by the state. The manifestations of these efforts are to support community empowerment through Budi Luhur Dairy Farmers Group --- as one of the strategies to reduce poverty. Why is it focused on dairy farmers? Because they increase the need for human beings in the framework of human investment. Budi Luhur is one of the successful groups of dairy farmers in the East Java. The success of Budi Luhur Dairy Farmer Group was also due to the help and role of PT Nestle who actively participated the empowerment activities. Hence, it is interesting to see further the process of empowerment by Nestle Corp through Budi Luhur Group. The method used is the qualitative approach in order to get deeper result. Based on research, the empowerment carried out by Nestle Corp produced a positive impact for the farmers to reduce poverty and unemployment exactly in in rural areas. However, the form of empowerment program provided is so far still limited to providing subsidies to support dairy farm activities assistance in the form of equipment.

Abstract

People living HIV / AIDS have social problems in various dimensions, especially in the social dimension such as being excluded from the social environment, lacking social support, difficulties in establishing relationships with the social environment, and being not confident with status as himself as a person with HIV. To help people living HIV/AIDS problems in their social dimensions, in Jember Regency there is a Peer Support Group (PSG) of Pelangi which intervenes both with individual and group approaches. In carrying out the intervention, there were social worker who included former People living HIV/AIDS and not The role of social worker of the peer support group is very supportive in helping people living HIV/AIDS to overcome the social problems they face. This study was conducted to determine the various roles of PSG of Pelangi in each stage of intervention in people living HIV at the Vicity Clinic in Balung Hospital, Jember Regency. This study uses qualitative research, with descriptive types, and informant determination techniques with purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that there are various roles carried out by the social worker of the pelangi peer support group at each stage of intervention in people living HIV/AIDS especially in the social dimension. By maximizing these roles, the social worker of the PSG pelangi assistant managed to intervene well at each stage

Abstract

Recent literature has explored enough strategies to empower MSMEs. This research offers a different perspective by giving more emphasis on empowerment aspects to rural business partners by student groups. The research approach used is qualitative through in-depth interviews with informants related to research questions such as students as agent of change and rural business partners. Some important findings that emerge are several strategies in empowering MSMEs that arise in partnership and foster parents models with intensive assistance from student groups to business partners. Some effective strategies found are building relationships and trust, using directive and nondirective interventions, strengths perspective, achievement motivation models and experiential learning methods. The conclusion is that the partnership model and foster parents encourage joint practices that can increase entrepreneurial capacity in developing rural micro businesses both for students and micro entrepreneurs. The recommendation from this study is that a need for balanced informations between student groups and business partners before assistance process. And also informations about empowerment for students related to knowledge, skills and values

Abstract

Based on data of the Prison Database System, on November 2013, the number of prisoners is 5730, with detail of 2233 were detained (with details of 2168 as boys and the rest were girls) and 3497 child delinquent (with details of 3428 boys and girls). The increase in cases of child delinquent is not balanced with the increase in the number of prisons and special detention for children. The number of special detention for Children in Indonesia is only 17 units out of 33 provinces. From 17 special detention for Children in Indonesia, there are only 8 units of special detention for Children that function specifically to handle children or the contents for children. While the other 9 correctional institutions that should be special for children, also functioned to accommodate adult prisoners. From total 33 provinces in Indonesia, there are 16 provinces that do not have a special prison for children. Thus, children facing the law will be placed in prisons and adult prisons. Seeing this situation needs attention from all parties (especially Government and Society) in handling this situation
