Abstract

ABSTRACT INDRA DAT PERDANA TARIGAN, 2015: “ Utilization of Gabus Pasir (Butis amboinensis)waste meal In Ration Against Peformance of Laying Duck 35th Week of Age”, guided by R. EDHY MIRWANDHONO and TRI HESTI WAHYUNI. This research was conducted at Desa Lama Kecamatam Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang from Mart to June 2015. This study aimed to determine the effect of Gabus Pasir waste meal in the ration on duck-day, egg weight and FCR. The design used in this research is completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and 6 replications, each replication consisted  of 4 laying ducks. Treatmen consists of P0 (feed without Gabus Pasir waste meal); P1 (feed with Gabus Pasir waste meal as much as 5%); P2 (feed with Gabus Pasir waste meal as much as 10%). The results showed the average of duck-day percentage such as 55,87; 58,52 dan 61,17, respectivly. Egg weight (g) such as 63,73; 64,09 and 64,22, respectivly. FCR such as 5,98; 5,66 and 5,34, respectivly. The results showed that the treatment was not significant effect on duck-day, egg weight and feed conversion. The conclusion of this research that Gabus Pasir waste meal can be used in ration to the level of 10%. Keywords: Gabus Pasir waste meal, Peformance of Laying duck

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keragaman morfometrik dan estimasi jarak genetik beberapa bangsa kambing (Boer, Boerka, Kacang, Muara dan Kambing samosir). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Loka (30 ekor kambing Boer, 30 ekor kambing Boerka dan 39 ekor kambing Kacang), di Samosir (30 ekor kambing Samosir) dan di Muara (30 ekor Kambing Muara). Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara mengukur tinggi pundak, tinggi pinggul, panjang badan, lingkar dada, dalam dada, panjang tanduk, panjang ekor, panjang kepala, lebar kepala, lebar telinga dan panjang telinga. Data yang diperoleh diolah dengan analisis diskriminan sederhana dengan menggunakan Program dari SAS (Statistical Analysis System) dan Dendogram menggunakan program dari MEGA (Molekuler Evolusioner Genetic Analysis). Hasil analisis dari nilai campuran fenotifik menunjukkan bahwa Boer, Muara, dan Samosir adalah (100%) kambing murni. Jarak genetik antara Boerka dan Kacang (4,74) dan jarak genetik antara kambing Samosir dan kambing Boer (19,10). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu jarak genetik menunjukkan bahwa bangsa kambing boerka dan kacang memiliki jarak genetik yang dekat, sebaliknya bangsa kambing Samosir dengan bangsa kambing Boer memiliki jarak genetik yang jauh dan faktor peubah pembeda morfologi tubuh dari kelima bangsa kambing adalah tinggi pinggul, lebar telinga, panjang telinga dan dalam dada.   Kata kunci : kambing, jarak genetik, morfometrik

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan kulit buah kakao dan kulit buah pisang perlu dimaksimalkan dengan melakukan fermentasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi Ternak Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara selama 4 bulan, dimulai bulan Agustus 2014-Desember 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 ekor kambing kacang jantan dengan bobot awal 10,47±0,28 kg dan rancangan  yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0 sebagai kontrol (tanpa fermentasi), P1= fermentasi MOL, P2= fermentasi isolat bakteri rumen kerbau, P3= fermentasi starbio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rataan kecernaan bahan kering 70,74 %.                                       P0: 70,59% ; P1: 70,11%; P2: 69,95%; dan P3: 72,31%. Rataan kecernaan bahan organik 79,61% dengan P0: 79,62% ; P1: 79,28% ; P2: 78,88% dan P3: 80,65%. Kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik (BK dan BO) menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini adalah pemanfaatan kulit buah kakao dan kulit buah pisang dengan fermentasi tidak dapat meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik kambing kacang jantan. Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan kulit buah kakao dan kulit buah pisang sebagai pakan ternak dapat dimaksimalkan melalui proses fermentasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan kulit buah kakao dan kulit buah pisang yang difermentasi terhadap performans kambing kacang jantan lepas sapih. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi Ternak Program Studi Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara selama 3 bulan, dimulai bulan September 2014-November 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan 20 ekor kambing kacang jantan lepas sapih dengan bobot awal 10,47±0,28 kg dan rancangan  yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri atas ransum komplit yang mengandung 20 % kulit buah kakao + 30 % kulit buah pisang tanpa fermentasi (P0), Ransum komplit yang difermentasi MOL (P1), Ransum komplit mengandung yang difermentasi isolat bakteri rumen kerbau (P2), Ransum komplit yang di fermentasi starbio (P3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rataan dari masing-masing perlakuan yaitu, P0, P1, P2, dan P3 berturut-turut untuk rataan konsumsi pakan adalah 2844,63; 241,61; 2420,72; dan 2641,93 g/ekor/minggu, rataan pertambahan bobot badan adalah 333,67; 311,67; 289,17; dan 389,17 g/ekor/minggu dan rataan konversi pakan adalah 7,53; 9,67; 6,06; dan 6,68. Kambing kacang yang diberi perlakuan menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak nyata terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan (P>0,05). Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan berbagai bioaktivator dalam fermentasi kulit buah kakao dan kulit buah pisang dapat digunakan sebagai pakan kambing kacang jantan lepas sapih.   Kata kunci: Kambing kacang, kulit buah kakao, kulit buah pisang, bioaktivator dan performans.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan probiotik lokal dalam meningkatkan kecernaan serat kasar dan kecernaan protein kasar tongkol jagung in vitro. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari R0=Tongkol jagung tanpa perlakuan (kontrol); R1=Tongkol jagung dengan penambahan Aspergillus niger dan Saccharomyces cerevisiae; R2=R1 + isolat bakteri rumen kerbau; R3=R1 + isolat bakteri rumen domba adaptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rataan kecernaan serat kasar (%) pada perlakuan R0, R1, R2, R3 berturut-turut = 60.29; 68.56; 76.76; dan R3 76.38, sedangkan kecernaan protein kasar (%) 56.12; 62.60; 71.66; dan 73.26. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa fermentasi dengan probiotik local nyata (P <0.05) meningkatkan kecernaan serat kasar dan kecernaan protein kasar in vitro. Penggunaan probiotik lokal (R1, R2, R3) menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dibanding R0, sedangkan R2 dan R3 menunjukkan hasil terbaik dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan penggunaan probiotik lokal seperti Aspergillus niger dan Saccharomicess cerevisiae ditambah isolat bakteri rumen kebau/domba menunjukan kecernaan yang paling tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biologi Ternak, University of Sumatra Utara on June 2014 until August 2014. This study aims to determine the effect of utilization fermented coffee pulp to dry matter and organic matter. This study used 20 male rex rabbits with average weight 913.05 g ± 60.49 g. The design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments were diet containing fermented : non-fermented coffee pulp with ratio on treatment P0 (0%: 30%); P1 (10%: 20%); P2 (20%: 10%); and P3 (30%: 0%). The variable were observed that Dry Matter Digestibility (DMD) and Organic Matter Digestibility (OMD). The results showed that the average dry matter digestibility (%) on treatment P0, P1, P2, and P3 were 59.70; 59.75; 59.74; and 59.89, repectively, while the average organic matter digestibility (%) 61.28; 61.40; 61.31; and 61.50, respectively. The result statistical analysis indicated that treatment were not significant affect (P>0.05) on Dry Matter Digestibility (DMD) and Organic Matter Digestibility (OMD). The conclusion of this study is fermented LMO (local micro organisme) has not significant effect on digestibility on rex rabbit. Abstract

ABSTRACT The research aimed was to determine the level of Biomol+ on oil palm frond in feed base on waste of palm oil plantations on local male sheeps fattening. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Animal Biology, Animal Science Studied Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatera Utara  from November 2013 until February 2014. This research using completely randomized design(CRD) consists of 4 treatments (P0 = 0% Biomol+; P1 = 5% Biomol+; P2 = 10% Biomol+ and P3 = 15% Biomol+) and 3 replications with the average of body weight 6,82  ±  0,42 kg. The results showed that feed intake, average daily gain and  feed conversion ratio (FCR) was highly significant influenced by level Biomol+. Increasing level of Biomol+ increased feed intake, average daily gain and improved  feed conversion ratio (FCR). The research conclusion is the level Biomol+ 15%  show best result base on feed intake, average daily gain feed conversion for male local sheeps fattening. Abstract

ABSTRACT The land use change and climate limit the availability of forage, which is the principal for feed ruminants. Purpose of this study to analyzes thepotential of harvestfood crops by productas a source ofalternative forbuffaloesfeedinPakpakBharat. The method used was survey mothod that by selecting 3 sub-district center of food crops in Pakpak Bharat as the sampling location of crop residu. Crop by product was got by tilled, all the samples was collected in this study were 38 samples, to determine the quality of food crop residue analisis used was proximate analysis. The results showedthe amount production of crops by products based onfreshproduct, dry matterandcrude protein are 84.453,87tons/year,27.497,46 tons/year and1.641,66tons/year respectively.Carrying capacity of  food cropby productas analternative feedsource forbuffaloesbydry matter15.044 AU/year, the potential livestock increasing capacity is 13.729 AU/year. The conclusion from this study is in Pakpak Bharat there are 4 types of crop by product can use as an alternative feed for bufalo are rice straw, corn straw, leaves of cassava and and sweat potato leaves. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the effect Endopower β® in diet of the carcass and visceral organs weight in broiler chickens. This research was conducted at the Laboratory Animal Sciences Program Husbandry Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sumatra Utara. The experiment was conducted for 35 days started from October to November 2013. The design experiment completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. This treatment consists of R0a (Diet Commercial 100%); Diet compose of 80% comercial diet and 20% palm kernel cake treated by level Endopower β® 0% (R0); 0,02%(R1); 0,04% (R2); 0,06%(R3). The result showed that addition endopower β® significantly (P<0,01) increased the average slaughter eight, carcass weight and carcass percentage. Level 0.06% of Endopower showed highest slaughter weghts, carcass weight and carcass percentage. It is concluded that endopower β® improve  slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage and decreased visceral organs weight. Abstract

ABSTRACT                This study aims to identify the main feature size and shape of the morphometrics and the genetic distance of local chickens in various districts of Batubara. This research used survey method with 2392 number of sample of chicken and data were analized with software SAS (Statistics Analytical System) which is used as a measure of genetic distance Mahalanobis genetic distance squared minimum, and Software MEGA6  for get Phenogram tree with UPGMA method ( Unweight Pair Group Method with Arithmetic ). The results based morphometric analysis showed differences in morphology on every chicken.  Based on the similarities and mix in between district and genetic distance from chicken. According to morphometric analysis, there is morphological different on every local chicken from 7 existed district in Batubara that Sei Suka and Sei Balai ( 1.26 ), Air Putih and Talawi ( 3.79 ), Medang Deras and Tanjung Tiram ( 1.73 ) and Lima Puluh (2.13 ). Conclusions showed that primary identified that appears are the length of tibia, metatarsus width and length beak , and the genetic distance of 7 districts there is one distinct districts namely at Lima Puluh (2.13), while six other districts were similarities between the two districts . Keywords : Morfometriks , Genetic distance , Kampung Chicken, Batubara.
