Abstract

This article describes the thoughts of the two reformers in the Islamic world, namely Fethullah Gulen and Farid Esack regarding the concept of Cosmopolitan Islam. The formulation of the problem from this article is how the concept of Cosmopolitan Islam is offered by the two figures? With this research. In this study it was found that, Fethullah Gulen was an influential figure in his homeland, Turkey. His thoughts talk about the Sufistic education that he initiated. The Sufistic education aims to be able to produce superior generations (Gold Generation), these generations are expected to become human beings who are not only devoted to Allah but also become human beings who always serve the community (hizmet), and are good at science. General and religion and respect for fellow human beings regardless of one’s background. Meanwhile, Farid Esack emphasizes the explanations of the verses of the Qur’an, where he uses the hermeneutic method to explain a hadith which he considers to be in accordance with the reality that exists in South Africa. His interpretations aim to prevent Muslims in particular from becoming human beings who do not care about the circumstances of the people around them.

Abstract

Konflik kekerasan yang terjadi pada dunia Islam menimbulkan persepsi yang buruk terhadap umat Islam. pada dasarnya Islam tidak mengajarkan tentang kekerasan, baik dengan sesama muslim maupun dengan pemeluk agama lain. Selain itu, Islam mengajarkan untuk saling menghormati terhadap sesama dan mencintai seluruh makhluk (rahmatan lil alamin). Namun, pada realitasnya masih banyak terjadi kekerasan antar sesama yang disebabkan banyak hal, termasuk pemahaman terhadap ajaran agama yang diyakini. Kehidupan Islam yang berkembang pesat membuat kekuasaan atau jangkauan Islam semakin luas. Hal itu berimplikasi kepada heterogenitas dalam masyarakat Islam, utamanya dalam masyarakat Arab. Islam yang semakin banyak pengikutnya dan banyak penaklukkan daerah lain menimbulkan pemahaman-pemahaman berbeda dalam beragama. Perbedaan-perbedaan yang ada dapat menyulut konflik dalam masyarakat. Nabi Muhammad memberikan teladan dalam menjalankan kehidupan yang berdasarkan ajaran Islam dan dalam konteks masyarakat Madinah yang kompleks atau plural. Oleh sebab itu, menarik untuk dikaji kembali tentang pluralisme dalam Islam. Kata kunci: Islam, Pluralisme, Konflik
A MODEL FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION IN MADRASAH: Case Studies in Kediri and Surabaya Titik Triwulan Tutik

Abstract

This research is an Applied Research on National Strategic Studies, on the Implementation Model of Religious Moderation in Madrasahs by taking case studies in Surabaya City and Kediri Regency. Objectives of the activity: First, to analyze management patterns in implementing religious moderation in madrasas. Second, examine the application of subject teacher learning in implementing religious moderation in madrasas for their students. Third, describe the obstacles faced by madrasa institutions in implementing religious moderation. The research design is a field research design in which the researcher will conduct observations and interviews with the respondents on the issues raised. These findings will be analyzed using the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger.The results of the study show: First, the management pattern in implementing religious moderation in madrasas begins with determining the vision and mission of the madrasa, and preparing the madrasa work program, which is documented in the Madrasah Strategic Plan (Resntra), Madrasah Work Plan, Annual Activity Plan, Madrasah Activity Plan and Budget, and Madrasah Curriculum. Second, Madrasas in implementing religious moderation generally use three patterns, namely: (1) integrating with the learning process; (2) habituation activities; (3) through extracurricular. Based on the implementation model of religious moderation at the madrasah, it can generally be concluded that these patterns follow Peter L. Berger's Social Construction Theory, namely the existence of stages in implementation such as the preparation of vision and mission, work programs and habituation to the institution (process externalization), implementation of vision and mission, work programs, and habituation to madrasas (objectification process), and a correct understanding of moderation and implementation in everyday life both in the school, home, and community environment (internalization process).Based on the findings/results of the research, the suggestions/recommendations that can be given are: (1) there needs to be socialization, workshops, technical guidance, training on religious moderation for all educators and education personnel in Madrasahs to create a unified insight; (2) The government, in this case, the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia needs to provide a separate budget related to religious moderation activities, especially in madrasas so that activities can be carried out massively, systematically, and structured from the main level to the madrasa level; and (3) Madrasahs need to coordinate with parents through the madrasa committee, and carry out MoUs with stakeholders such as national private companies through CSR programs in implementing religious moderation in madrasas so that activities can be carried out massively and planned.

Abstract

Adanya berbagai permasalahan dalam proses kehidupan menjadi hal yang pasti terjadi, Hal demikian tentu akan berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan mental yang dimiliki seseorang. Seseorang dengan kesehatan mental yang baik, akan mampu menghadapi masalah dengan penuh keyakinan diri tanpa ada gangguan hebat pada struktur diri, bahkan akan mampu mengembangkan potensi yang ada dalam dirinya. Dengan demikian, upaya penjagaan kesehatan mental untuk selalu dilakukan. Salahsatu upaya tersebut yakni adanya sikap tawakal yang telah tertanam pada diri seseorang sehingga mampu untuk diimplementasikan kemudian. Pembahasan ini tentunya akan banyak mengkaji tentang jiwa manusia, sehingga dianggap sesuai dengan mengakaji melalui pemikiran tokoh dengan predikat seorang sufi. Pada kajian ini akan menggunakan pemikiran sufi masyhur hampir semua kalangan, Muhyiddīn Ibnu ‘Arabi. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan metode deskriptif-analitis, dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan library research atau studi pustaka yang menggunakan data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tawakal yang diusung oleh Ibnu ‘Arabi merupakan sikap kepasrahan hamba kepada Rabb-nya yang didahului dengan adanya usaha-usaha sebelum penyerahan itu dilakukan. Keadaan demikian tentunya perlu untuk selalu dibarengi akan keyakinan. Sehingga pada diri hamba akan memiliki harapan, kekuatan, ketenangan dan ketentraman yang akan berpengaruh baik terhadap kesehatan mental. Dimana, harapan akan mampu menghempas keraguan, kekuatan mampu menghadapi permasalahan, dan ketenangan dan ketentraman akan mampu menghempas amarah, angan-angan, khayalan, frustasi (tekanan perasaan), konflik (pertentangan batin), kecemasan.

Abstract

Abstract Mental health disorders are conditions where individuals are unable to recognise and satisfy their needs. Mental health disorders are prevalent in society and have a major impact on individuals and communities. This article provides an overview of various mental health disorders in the community. It is a systematic review of books and e-journals published up to 2022 on related issues, the results of which are then analysed using the perspectives of Islamic psychology and sociology. This article shows that there is a misconception about how people with mental health disorders are treated in Indonesia. People with mental illness are perceived as dangerous, resulting in the avoidance and even isolation of sufferers. This article explains how to address this misperception through the help of Islamic psychology and sociology.   Keywords: Mental Health Disorders, Psychology, Islamic Sociology.
