Abstract

There are various cases about the relationship between a company and community in some countries nowdays. Some companies take only the available natural resources in one region and ignore the environment as well as its surrounding environment. Regarding the issue, the social responsibility of company had become a central issue in some countries including Indonesia. In solving the problem, the government of Indonesia tries to create the rule regarding the social responsibility of the company. This rule obliges the company to implement its social responsibility. PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV is one of the companies which performs its social responsibility through a partnership program. This program is intended to support community small bussinesses. Related to this program, I carried out the research about the implementation of partnership program by PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV in Medan area. The results of the research indicated that the implementation of partnership program by PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV had been in accordance with its expectation to increase partnership business. Partnership Program is able to expand employment and improve the living standards of the people towards prosperity.

Abstract

Life expectancy Indonesia from year to year continues to increase along with improved quality of life and health care also improved. This affected the increasing number of elderly people in Indonesia, which if not addressed will arise various problems. Among them is the emergence of a variety of demands in order to meet the needs and address the issues related to elderly. Taking into account these problems, the government formulated policies, and service programs for the elderly, one of which is a program of day care services. The program is aimed at seniors who are outside the home, and temporary conducted at noon in the social institutions or outside social institutions in a given time, or the government-run professionally. The research was conducted at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Elderly Social Services Regional Binjai and Medan. This study uses descriptive quantitative approach. To obtain the necessary data, this study used data collection techniques and field studies literature consisting of distributing questionnaires (questionnaire), interview and observation. Abstract

Neglected children is one of social welfare problems that exist in all societies. There are many social problems that cause child neglect, such as socio-economic issues, social psychology, and parents who are not responsible for their obligation to meet the needs of their children. It is inevitable that the majority of child neglect directly related to poor socioeconomic conditions of families, so parents are not able to meet the needs of children. Neglection  is causing the childern do not have enough opportunities to grow and develop naturally either physically, spiritually, and socially. Handling of childern welfare has been done both by the government and private sector through the social system and non-nursing home. One of the ways in which to overcome this problem is through the orphanage who are willing to accommodate the displaced children, which were given the same facilities as other children receive. The research was conducted at the Orphanage Foundation for Socio-Al-Amal Village Washliyah Medan District of Johor Johor House. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach. To obtain the necessary data, this study used data collection techniques literature study and field study consisting of observation, interview, questionnaire filling. The results can be seen that foster children residing in Al-Washliyah Orphanage is treated with adequate care. This is evident from the relationship between the caregiver Panti well with foster children who will receive them and make them like his own family and children development in terms of physical, spiritual and social are well developed. Abstract

The biggest difficulty of farmers in developing their farm is getting the capital. They were forced to use the service of money lenders or provate cooperations that burden them with enormous interest that they get stuck into the cycle of poverty. They need an agency, that can help them to get the capital in the form of loans with mild interest. In regard to this problem, CU Cinta Kasih attends with a program which is named  agricultural microfinance. It is specially designed to provide capital. CU Cinta Kasih also implemented the poverty lending approach, which gave supporting activities such as education and training to its members. The research was conducted at CU Cinta Kasih Pulo Brayan West Medan District to measure how far the agricultural microfinance program is effective in providing capital to its members. The results of this research showed that agricultural microfinance program by CU Cinta Kasih is very helpful in providing capital to develop their farm. But, in supporting activities such as education, demoplot, discussions etc have not run maximally. Abstract

PT. Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper is a company engaged in the field of pulp and paper industry. As the largest international scale PT. Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper has implemented corporate social responsibility program under a special department with community empowerment as the target. This study aimed to determine whether the implementation of corporate social responsibility programs PT.Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper in the village Rantau Panjang Koto Gasib Siak District effective or not. Based on the analysis of data obtained from six indicators of the effectiveness of corporate social responsibility, namely: understanding the program, targeting accuracy, timeliness, achievement of targets, the achievement of objectives and real change, it is concluded that the implementation of corporate social responsibility programs are effective with total percentage of 61.71%. After joining and became a partner in corporate social responsibility program PT. Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper, the majority of respondents find jobs and additional income, long hours of work increase and a change thought patterns in order to improve the welfare of the family. The data supported the effectiveness of the implementation of corporate social responsibility program based on a Likert scale is high where the average score was obtained for 2.54.
