Abstract

Educational innovation is an important factor for educational progress. Unfortunately, the implementation of educational innovation in Indonesia has not run smoothly as expected. This situation requires systemic reformulation by taking into account various factors such as political, economic, social and cultural factors. Judging from the importance of education, the combination of international schools and boarding schools is the right innovation choice in the current era. International Boarding Schools can be a way to create a generation that is advanced, independent, responsible and able to compete in developing science, technology and skills at an international level. By using an international curriculum and combining it with a boarding system in learning practices, it is hoped that the Indonesian generation can achieve a generation that is intelligent, independent and broad-minded. Not only about the educational aspect, International Boarding Schools can also be a solution to overcome traffic jam problems that occur, especially in big cities. With the Boarding system, parents no longer have to pick up and pick up their children to study at school, thereby reducing the quantity of motorized vehicles on the road. The construction of facilities in a city does not always go well and produce good results, many facilities are built which make the quality of the environment worse. Therefore, to reduce negative impacts on the environment, facilities to be built should apply an environmentally friendly design approach to reduce damage to the environment around the building in the short and long term. The international boarding school is planned on a site of 1,154 ha, on Letnan Jendral Soepeno Street, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Special Capital Region of Jakarta. The facilities at the school include classrooms, laboratories, dormitories and other supporting facilities that follow international school standards.

Abstract

As the economy in Indonesia grows, the lifestyle of its people is dynamically changing. There is an increasing interest in fashion and beauty among the population, supported by the tendency of urban Indonesians to follow evolving fashion trends. Clothing (fashion) and beauty are crucial factors in personal appearance, thus creating a demand for facilities that cater to these needs within a single area. Semarang City is part of the mega-urban area known as Kedungsepur (Kendal, Demak, Ungaran, Salatiga, Semarang, and Purwodadi), which is a hub of urban development in Central Java. However, the growth of fashion and beauty in Semarang is uneven, despite the promising potential of the fashion and beauty industries to support local and regional economic growth. Therefore, there is a need for planning a facility that encompasses not only commercial aspects but also educational aspects within one area. The planning of a Fashion and Beauty Center aims to provide facilities to the community of Semarang City to support various activities such as shopping, salons, beauty treatments, fashion training, treatment training, makeup training, art galleries, and fashion shows. The application of a modern organic architectural approach in planning the Fashion and Beauty Center embodies the characteristics of fashion and beauty that are always evolving to be free-spirited, simple, functional, and elegant from year to year, while maintaining a balance with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

The increasing number of drug abuse cases in Indonesia, particularly among teenagers, indicates that government prevention measures have not been fully effective, as many areas lack adequate rehabilitation centers. These centers are essential for helping victims recover from addiction and reintegrate into society, serving both rehabilitative and preventive functions. Banten Province has several rehabilitation centers, but not all meet the necessary standards. This underscores the need for a specialized Drug Rehabilitation Center focused on teenagers, who are the majority of drug addiction victims. This center will utilize the Therapeutic Community (TC) model, where rehabilitants engage in social rehabilitation activities within their communities, and employ a Behavioral Architecture approach, which responds to users and their environment. The planning and design of this center will involve the analysis of primary and secondary data through five aspects: functional, contextual, technical, performance, and architectural. The Behavioral Architecture approach aims to create spaces that support the physical and mental healing of teenage drug addicts while being responsive to their needs. The analysis results will guide the subsequent design process.

Abstract

Bakaran Batik is a cultural heritage originating from Pati Regency. Burnt Batik has now been designated as one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTb) on a national scale. However, as time goes by, its existence among the community is starting to decline in Bakaran Batik. The planning of the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency is aimed at preserving the art of batik itself and presenting Bakaran Batik as batik which has its own characteristics, both in terms of motifs, patterns and colors, to the public. wide. The site used in planning the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency is located on Jalan Raya Sunan-Ngerang, Bakaran Kulon Village, Juwana District, Pati Regency, 59185. The Expo Gallery Batik Bakaran building applies the Neo-Vernacular architectural concept which adopts the form of a Joglo Traditional House. The environmental aspects used in designing the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery include rain water harvesting, and the processing of batik waste that does not pollute the surrounding environment. From several planning and design approaches, a planning and design concept was obtained which was used as the basis for planning the design of the Bakaran Batik Expo Gallery in Pati Regency. Some of these approaches include the functional approach, structural approach, performance aspects approach, and architectural approach.

Abstract

Purwokerto Wage Market is the main market that is the center of trade in the Purwokerto area. Circulation in the market is one of the problems that need to be overcome and also the lack of openings causes the temperature in the market to be quite high during the day. From the data obtained, the temperature in the city of Purwokerto ranges from 21.4°C – 29°C. In addition, waste management that is not optimal causes the atmosphere to be less comfortable for both traders and market visitors. The number of informal traders who occupy areas that are not specifically for selling is one of the problems that must be solved. To overcome these problems, it is necessary to plan and design the market with a bioclimatic architecture approach that pays attention to the condition of the building and the environment. The analysis was carried out which was divided into several approaches, namely, functional approach, contextual approach, structural approach, performance approach, and architectural approach. The design was then carried out thermal tests using thermometers and digital anemometers in the morning and afternoon with temperature results at 30°C – 30.8°C. From the results of data collection and data analysis, a design plan for the main market building was obtained that was in accordance with the needs of its users. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the bioclimatic concept to buildings and site areas is a hallway and on the façade of the building in the form of secondary skin, vertical garden, dynamic façade which protects the building from direct exposure to sunlight. Then the rainwater collector is placed in the central area and as a vew in the building itself. The design that has been designed can be a reference in the redesign of the Purwokerto Wage Market building in improving and overcoming existing problems.

Abstract

After the COVID-19 pandemic, global focus on health has increased, including mental health issues. However, many people in Indonesia still consider mental health to be a taboo subject. In reality, mental health has a significant impact on community life. Poor mental health, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, can negatively affect physical well-being and reduce the quality of life, particularly in large cities like Tangerang. Tangerang's numerous industrial factories contribute to air pollution, the lack of green spaces, and significant social pressures, all of which increase stress among its residents and can lead to mental health issues that may result in harmful actions toward themselves or others. In 2018, TangerangNews reported 15 suicide incidents in Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency, and South Tangerang, with causes ranging from economic factors to depression. According to Pasla (2023), several methods can prevent the negative impacts of mental health issues, including maintaining and improving mental well-being through actions that balance physical and spiritual conditions. In response to these challenges, the planning and design of a Wellness Center could be an inspiring solution with the potential to positively impact the community in Tangerang. Integrated with the Healing Environment approach, which creates a more healing and restorative building environment, this facility aims to enhance community wellness in a positive, targeted, and effective manner, reducing stress levels and preventing depression to improve the quality of life in Tangerang.

Abstract

The development and construction of Semarang City is increasing with many investors putting in capital or shares in various fields. Various approaches are taken to attract investors and tourists to Semarang City, one of which is by organizing MICE events. Semarang City is one of the 16 cities in Indonesia that has become a MICE destination. However, convention hotel accommodation in one region is still not evenly distributed and there is currently no venue that can accommodate 5,000 people. Therefore, planning and designing a convention hotel in Semarang City is a suitable solution to this problem. The biophilic design approach was considered as an answer to the problem of how hotels contribute to the largest energy use. Therefore, it is necessary to plan and design a convention hotel with a biophilic design concept that fulfills technical aspects, environmentally friendly, and positively impacts human health. This approach prioritizes a building concept that presents the connectivity of residents to the natural environment through the arrangement of interior spaces and landscaping. The design of Convention Hotel with biophilic design approach in Semarang City is used data in the form of primary and secondary data which is then analyzed and processed in functional, contextual, technical, performance, and architectural approaches. By analyzing and processing the data, recommendations and design solutions related to the Convention Hotel with a biophilic design approach in Semarang City will be obtained to support MICE events held in Semarang City.

Abstract

Indonesia is a paradise for archaeological research, proven by the many kinds of Pleistocene era artifact findings scattered throughout the country, including in Kuningan Regency. One of them is the finding of a megalithic site in Cipari Village, which is the only megalithic heritage archaeological site given more attention by the Kuningan Regency municipal government, with the establishment of the Cipari Archaeological Park Museum in 1976. Ironically, the archaeological museum building at Cipari Site is still relatively simple, and has not been able to follow the guidelines for establishing a museum. The existing building, which has an area of 80m², only contains temporary exhibition rooms, toilets and management rooms which are deemed unable to accommodate groups of tourists who often come from various educational institutions. So, a redesign is needed that is able to house a collection of artifacts as well as an archaeological research center to facilitate archaeologists and scientists, in researching artifacts that have been found in Kuningan and its surroundings. The primordial museum and archaeological research center is a building that stores and researches natural objects of ancient relics found in nature, so it is good if this building can be redesigned by considering its relationship with nature. Therefore, the biophilic architecture approach is deemed appropriate in the redesign of the museum building along with the archaeological research center or in other languages, the Primordial Museum and Archaeological Research Center in the Cipari Archaeology Site Area, Kuningan Regency. Data is also needed which includes primary and secondary data needs and then analyzed with five aspects of the approach, including functional, contextual, technical, performance and architectural aspects. The results will produce design recommendations for the Primordial Museum and Archaeological Research Center in the Cipari Antiquities Area, Kuningan Regency, West Java.
