Abstract

Food waste is a global issue that is currently the center of attention of the world community. From developing countries to developed countries try to develop various methods or approaches to contribute to solving this problem. The existence of food waste in an industry is an indication of an unsustainable system of food production and consumption. This will lead to problems in the form of low total margins on food products and higher operating costs. In this study, experiments were conducted to reduce food waste with a case study at store-level with monte carlo simulation at one of the international franchise bakeries in Surabaya. Analysis of the sale of a franchised bakery. Then, in the form of a template that corresponds to take into account the amount of waste and lost sales (TW / TU) and costs incurred (TLS and TWC). This template is used for simulation with the amount of running equivalent to 3 months. Based on the analysis of the initial simulation results, it is in the form of 3 scenarios that may be applied, namely batch delivery system change, forecasting system changes, and lastly the combination of the two. Based on the results of the scenario, it was obtained that the combined method of forecasting winter-method with delivery policy 2 times a day with the condition of delivery in the form of inventory must be less than 20% of the batch once sent. With this scenario was found the average result per day in the form of waste of 707 products with a total income of Rp91,035,686, waste cost of Rp1,542.22, lost sales of Rp1,248,371.

Abstract

Sugar is a simple carbohydrate that becomes the main source of energy and trading commodity. Sugar is used to turn the taste into sweetness and the state of food or drink. Domestic sugar production is still not meeting domestic needs. Technologically the manufacture of glucose syrup is relatively simple and can be done by small or medium industrie. In this research will be done design equipment production process of liquid sugar made from cassava raw that can be developed by small industries. Making liquid sugar made from cassava is expected to be an alternative source of fructose. This tool is designed to be made using stainless stell material, and using arduino uno as its control center, umun how this tool works is a pH meter probe and Resistance Temperature Detector produces a measurable resistance value and received by the signal pondisi frame. If arduino uno detects a change in the measurable voltage value and does not match the limits of alkaline acid and temperature then the arduino will run the base acid pump and heating regulator

Abstract

The need for Smartphones is now increasing, so that shops selling Smartphones are growing rapidly in the city of Palembang. As a result, shop owners must have a sales strategy as well as the advantages of the facilities offered, so as to attract consumers. Multicom is a small and medium-sized store that sells various Smartphones such as Samsung, Vivo, etc. According to the owner, the number of hp sales has decreased. The decrease in sales is feared to have an effect on store efficiency, so efficiency calculations will be carried out. One method used to measure efficiency is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). From the results of the research conducted, it is known that one of Multicom stores does not operate efficiently from May 2018 to July 2018, which has an efficiency level of 0.9516 each; 0,8114; and 0.9394. The main factor that causes Multicom to not operate efficiently is that it has not implemented online-based sales. To increase efficiency, an OLX account was created for the Multicom store. After implementing OLX, Multicom stores have an efficiency value of 1 which means it has been efficient..

Abstract

Research on the determination of amorphous silica in Alor rice as an additive in the manufacture of portland composite cement has been carried out. The aim this to determine the concentration of amorphous silica in the form of oxides in rice husk ash with variations in time and combustion temperature. Washed rice husks are heated in an oven at 100 °C for 24 hours. After that rice husk is heated in the furnace with variations in temperature and time. Rice husk ash originating from the furnace combustion is then cooled for 24 hours and smoothed in a blender for 3 minutes, then sifted on the number size 230 sieve and analyzed using X-RD and X-RF. X-RD results showed that the rice husk ash samples were amorphous with the name Chitopentaose caprate (C200H363N5O38). While the results of X-RF at combustion with a temperature of 700 °C and time of 4 hours obtained amorphous silica at 97.50% with a very low CaO concentration of 0.467%.

Abstract

The one negative impact of industrial activities is the environmental pollution especially if contain heavy metals where the concentrations is exceed the Threshold Value (TLV). In this study, the biosorption of Cu (II) by Pseudomonas putida for reduce heavy metal in waste water. The biosorption with Pseudomonas putida was carried out in some initial variations of Cu (II), time adsorption, and pH. The concentration of Cu(II) after bisorption was measured using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. Based on the results of the study it was found that the greater initial concentration of Cu (II) from 8.000 ppm to 12.000 ppm the percentage decrease Cu (II) concentration is getting smaller. Whereas at the same initial concentration of Cu(II) 8.000 ppm the largest percentage reduction in Cu (II) concentration occurred at pH = 6 compared to pH = 4 and 5. This matter because metallothionein in the cell wall of Pseudomonas putida will be lysed under relatively acidic conditions at pH = 4 and pH = 5, if methallotionein lysis then the absorbed Cu (II) is smaller. In determining the biosorption kinetics constanta (k), the data is getting lower along with the increase in the initial concentration of Cu (II). This is because Cu(II) ion in solution are reactive to bacterial cells, which can cause cell damage result death bacteria. Based on the results measurements of Pseudomonas putida after the biosorption using FTIR it can be seen that the presence of Cu (II) is bound to the bacterial cell wall. This can be seen from the shift of absorption peak at wave number 420.45 cm-1 which indicates the presence of Cu-O groups.

Abstract

Keterbatasan ruang menjadi salah satu permasalahan dalam ruangan lingkup tempat tinggal. Salah satu faktor yang memicu keterbatasan ruang adalah furnitur yang digunakan memakan ruang yang cukup besar, dengan fungsi furnitur yang sangat terbatas. Smart furniture merupakan desain furnitur yang bersifat multifungsi dan dibuat dengan tujuan menghemat ruang namun tetap memaksimalkan fungsinya. Aplikasi smart furniture di Indonesia masih sangat sedikit dan belum dikenal secara umum, sehingga furnitur di Indonesia umumnya masih menghabiskan banyak ruang. Dengan demikian muncul ide untuk membuat furnitur berupa meja tulis dengan fitur tinggi yang adjustable dan mengandung konsep smart furniture. Fitur adjustable pada meja tulis tersebut menggunakan mekanisme batang ulir yang diputarkan dengan motor DC torsi tinggi 12v-24v dan dikendalikan oleh pengguna menggunakan tombol untuk mengatur ketinggiannya, sehingga memungkinkan untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai standing desk. Dengan konsep smart furniture, desain alat ini dibuat minimalis sehingga dapat menghemat ruang, namun memiliki fungsi maksimal. Bentuk fisik alat ini dipertimbangkan agar tetap memberikan kenyamanan bagi pengguna. Hasil yang diharapkan dengan realisasi alat ini adalah masyarakat menjadi lebih mengenal konsep smart furniture dan memanfaatkannya sebagai solusi untuk masalah keterbatasan ruang, misalnya dalam tempat tinggal minimalis seperti apartemen.

Abstract

This paper discusses an air cooler that works with a steam compression cycle. This equipment can be used as a replacement for an air-cooler, an air-cooler that works with evaporative cooling. The refrigerant used is R134a. The main components of the vapor compression cycle consist of: compressor, evaporator, condenser, and capillary tube. The total electric power of the air cooler is 148 watt. If the intake air temperature is 30oC with RH 70% and the intake air flow rate is 2.13 m/s, then this air cooler can produce air with a temperature of 25.2 oC and RH 93%. The COP of this air cooler is 2.47. Research can be developed by lowering the working temperature of the evaporator or the working temperature of the condenser.
