Abstract

This study focuses on experiments to find out the relationship of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model to students' critical thinking skills in Geography Subject at MA Al-Khoiriyah, Bojonegoro Regency. This research seeks to overcome the lack of students' critical thinking skills through appropriate cooperative learning models so that they can hone the critical thinking skills of MA Al-Khoiriyah students, Bojonegoro Regency. The GI learning model emphasizes students to be more active than teachers in line with the curriculum policy currently implemented in schools, namely student-centered learning (student center). The 2013 curriculum uses a scientific approach which consists of observing, asking questions, exploring information, associating, and communicating. This is very consistent with the steps implemented in the GI learning model. The steps contained in the GI learning model require students to carry out joint investigations with their groups. The results of the group investigation were then presented in front of the class and then as the final step an evaluation was carried out together with the teacher. The teacher's role in this learning model only acts as a companion. The results of using the Group Investigation (GI) learning model affect the critical thinking skills of class XI IIS students at Ma Al-khoiriyah Bojonegoro in Geography subject. This is shown by the test results in the experimental class having a higher average value than the control class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the social intelligence of female students at the Al-Halimy Sesela Islamic boarding school. The research was carried out at Al-Halimy Islamic Boarding School, especially Anwarul Halimy Sesela's daughter's boarding school. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. In this research, data collection used a purposive sampling method with data collection using interview, observation, and documentation methods which were then analyzed using data triangulation. The results showed that the students were able to understand what other people were thinking and feeling, as well as what the person concerned (observer, perceiver) was thinking and feeling about the conditions that were being experienced by other people, without the person concerned losing control of himself then from that understanding the students made an effort help his friend. This is inseparable from the strength of the situation to what extent the similarities between the observer and the target. The higher the level of equality, the greater the opportunity for the observer to empathize, in this case, the equality of residence, ethnicity, religion, nation, etc. Suggestions for further researchers related to social intelligence, namely the need for further research related to factors that influence the social intelligence of students, so that later there is sufficient research to explain in more detail about the social intelligence of students, especially at the Al-Halimy Sesela Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

One kind of Islamic educational institution is an Islamic boarding school, which aims to mold students into individuals who are not only well-educated but also have personalities that benefit both institutions and society as a whole. Islamic boarding schools teach students a variety of religious knowledge as well as formal lessons. However, more importantly, Islamic boarding schools teach students religious knowledge with the goal of making them sound both in this world and the next. Islamic boarding schools also teach students the rules that the kiai has established. Modern Islamic boarding schools in their development are similar to Islamic boarding schools, just that the educational facilities are better. In this Islamic boarding school, teaching uses a classical system of doctrine. Usually, this type of pesantren only considers basic sciences as complementary sciences. Modern education has developed an attitude of seeking knowledge for life and has developed the concept of secularism and individualism. Education is a fundamental field that must belong to every nation. Traditional old patterns, but with the development of the system, modern system innovation. However, this does not mean that a modern pesantren education system negates the traditional education system, which is deeply rooted in pesantren. The modern education system is an addition to the existing traditional education system. In other words, combining tradition and modernity becomes a synergistic education system.
