Abstract

Abstract

FFAR4/GPR120 is an attractive membrane protein for diabetic drug design. Crystal structure of GPCR membrane proteins is difficult to obtain. Most of GPCR proteins lack experimental 3D structures. Therefore, computational method (in silico) using comparative homology modelling has been widely applied to solve it. To develop FFAR4/GPR120 selective compounds with high specificity, homology modelling of FFAR4/GPR120 can be constructed by utilizing other known GPCR crystal structures. This review article surveys the recent developments in the application of computational approaches in searching for selective agonist ligands and provides a perspective on computational approaches to the development of new drugs targeting FFAR4/GPR120.

Abstract

The use of pumice and sand as a media in Constructed wetland (CW) system to reduce anionic surfactant has been carried out. This research aimed to investigation the efficiency of pumice and sand in CW system with and without plant (cymbopogon citrates) for CW anionic surfactant removal. There were six variation of CW treatments based on percentage pumice amended in the sand media. The anionic surfactant were analysed using UV-VIS spectrophotometry with metilen blue methods. Results of the analysis on oneway anova showed that the efficiency removal of anionic surfactant in inflow and outflow is significant different, on the variation of media of pumice 10% and sand 90% (CW B) reduced anionic surfactant levels efficiently from an average of 0,481 ppm ppm to 0,188 ppm with a decrease in percentage value of 60,91%.

Abstract

Analysis of essential oil contained in Timor Hyptis suaveolens L Poit leaves has been done over GC-MS spectrometer. By distilling of the pre-dried leave samples using Stahl apparatus, there was 0,134% colored yellow and typical oil yielded. The GC-MS detected 33 compounds mainly 16,47% of trans-caryophillene, 16,09% of 1,8-cineole, 8,32% of caryophyllene oxide, 6,67% of 3 cyclohexene-1ol,4-methyl-1-1 and 2,7,6,24% of 11-cyclotetradecatrien-1-ol. Moreover phenol-2-methoxy trans-caryopillene, a-gurjunne, phenol-2,4-bis, 1-hexadecene, a-cedrol and cembrene have been found as new chemotype in comparison to 10 suoveolens from different countries, planting condition and/or climates.

Abstract

Abstract

Energy demands including electricity consumptions have been increasing rapidly inrecent years. Silicon solar cells, the most highly used cells dominating global markets, contribute significantly in providing sustainable form of energy. More importantly, itpromisingly enables people especially in rural and remote areas to have access to electricitythat could potentially stimulate rural development. However, this energy platform still suffersfor high production and maintenance costs and the use of hazardous materials. Softinterface solar cells seems to take advantage over silicon solar cell design but review articlesexplaining the advantages of this new approach are rarely found. This article provides ageneral overview about an emerging solar cell based on liquid│liquid junction interface fromchemistry perspective, highlights its benefits over silicon based solar cells and argues thatthis technology is a potential substitute for the existing ones by focusing specifically on theissues of costs, environmental impacts, electron transfer and fabrication techniques.
