Abstract

. Inclusive green open spaces play a vital role in enhancing the quality of urban life by promoting social interaction, environmental sustainability, and psychological well-being. This study aims to explore the concept and design principles of inclusive green open spaces as a means of fostering intergenerational social interaction in urban areas. Using a literature review design, this research analyzes eight selected scientific articles published between 2010-2023 that discuss inclusive urban design, social interaction, and sustainable public spaces. The results indicate that inclusive design emphasizing accessibility, safety, comfort, and multifunctionality creates opportunities for interaction among various age groups and social backgrounds. Furthermore, the integration of ecological functions with social needs contributes to environmental sustainability and urban resilience. Community participation and universal design principles are identified as key elements in ensuring that green open spaces are equitable and responsive to the needs of all users. This study concludes that the development of inclusive green open spaces not only supports sustainable urban planning but also strengthens social cohesion and intergenerational connections within cities.

Abstract

Rabies remains a significant public health concern, particularly in regions with high dog populations. This study examines how social constructions of dogs influence rabies prevention strategies, focusing on community perceptions, cultural norms, and human–dog interactions. A systematic review of 15 studies published between 2010 and 2023 was conducted to identify factors affecting responsible dog ownership, vaccination uptake, and public engagement in rabies control. The findings indicate that social and cultural beliefs significantly shape behaviors related to dog management, including vaccination compliance and post-exposure practices. Effective rabies prevention requires integrating biomedical interventions with culturally sensitive approaches, community participation, and education programs that address local perceptions of dogs. Policies that respect community norms while promoting responsible ownership and vaccination are crucial for sustainable rabies control. The study highlights that understanding the social construction of dogs provides a comprehensive framework for designing inclusive, context-specific, and effective rabies prevention strategies.

Abstract

Middle adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood, characterized by various physical, psychological, and social changes. These changes may lead to stress. One factor influencing stress is parenting style, particularly overprotective parenting. Overprotective parenting can shape adolescents’ perceptions, which may affect the level of stress experienced. This study aims to examine the relationship between perceptions of overprotective parenting and stress among middle adolescents in Yogyakarta. This quantitative correlational study involved 128 middle adolescents in Yogyakarta, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using overprotective parenting perception scales and stress scales, then analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation. Most respondents reported moderate stress levels (71.1%) and moderate perceptions of overprotective parenting (77.3%). Pearson correlation analysis showed p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.249, indicating a weak but significant positive relationship between perceptions of overprotective parenting and stress. There is a significant positive relationship between perceptions of overprotective parenting and stress in middle adolescents. Adolescents experiencing overprotective parenting are encouraged to remain resilient and find meaningful lessons from their experiences.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase toward adulthood, characterized by physical, psychological, cognitive, and social changes. During this period, adolescents often experience conflicts, particularly within peer environments, which may arise due to competition, provocation, or misunderstandings. One common form of conflict in this era is cyberbullying, in which perpetrators use electronic media to carry out their actions. A significant factor influencing this phenomenon is peer conformity. Close relationships among peers encourage adolescents to adjust their attitudes and behaviors to gain acceptance within their groups, thereby increasing their social and psychological needs. This study aimed to examine the relationship between peer conformity and cyberbullying among high school students in Yogyakarta. A quantitative method with a correlational approach was employed, involving 116 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using scales and analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results indicated that most respondents had low levels of cyberbullying (81.0%) and low peer conformity (71.6%). Analysis revealed a significant positive relationship (p = 0.000; r = 0.778), suggesting that higher peer conformity is associated with higher motivation for cyberbullying. It is recommended that adolescents be selective in choosing peer groups that support positive behaviors

Abstract

Adolescence is a critical period in which individuals begin to explore and identify their sexual orientation as part of their developing sexual identity. Teenagers often seek to express themselves and demonstrate their presence in the world, frequently through social media platforms. However, excessive or unmoderated use of social media can lead to miscommunication or exposure to inappropriate content, including content related to LGBT issues. This study aims to examine the influence of adolescents’ intention to access LGBT content on social media on the development of same-sex sexual orientation tendencies. A quantitative approach was employed, focusing on two variables: intention to access LGBT content and same-sex sexual orientation. Data were collected from 181 respondents aged 15–22 years using a Likert-scale questionnaire to measure both sexual orientation and intentions. The results reveal a significant positive relationship between same-sex sexual orientation and the intention to access LGBT content, with a correlation coefficient of 0.903 and an effective contribution of 81.6%. The significance test yielded a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, indicating that the relationship is statistically significant. These findings suggest that adolescents’ engagement with LGBT content on social media is strongly associated with tendencies toward same-sex sexual orientation, highlighting the influential role of social media in sexual identity development during adolescence.
