Abstract

Background: Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, or MSMEs, play a crucial role in driving the Indonesian economy. There are 64.2 million MSMEs operating and employing 97% of the national workforce (Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs 2018). However, many MSMEs still face challenges and challenges in managing their businesses. One of the MSMEs, namely the MSME "Warung Pondok Pesona" owned by Mrs. Yati who is still experiencing problems such as not having a business name and logo, lack of MSME branding, lack of information about the business, MSME owners not yet doing financial bookkeeping and lack of optimization of the cleanliness of the MSME premises.Objective: This mentoring program aims to help the MSME "Warung Pondok Pesona" owned by Mrs. Yati to improve and enhance the quality of the business, and aims to improve the family economy through business income. Method: This mentoring activity was carried out in three stages, namely pre-implementation (observation), direct mentoring and evaluation. The methods implemented included field surveys, implementation of program solutions based on problems and monitoring program implementation. Results: The KKU mentoring program was successfully implemented with several outputs that were in line with MSME problems, namely helping to provide MSME names and product logos, creating banners as MSME branding, installing MSME directional signs as promotional media, providing financial management education and providing financial record books and providing trash bins as an effort to optimize MSME cleanliness. All programs have been successfully implemented well within one month. Conclusion: Activities The mentoring program for the "Warung Pondok Pesona" MSME through the KKU program has been completed. It is expected to support business improvement and improve family economic well-being.

Abstract

Background: Multivitamins are pharmaceutical preparations consisting of vitamins, either in single or combined forms, that serve to meet the nutritional needs of the body. Vitamins are essential for the human body as they play a role in metabolism, immunity, and other physiological functions. However, the human body cannot produce sufficient amounts of vitamins, making dietary intake or supplementation necessary. Objective: To enhance students' understanding of the importance of consuming multivitamins to maintain their health and prevent diseases. Method: This activity involved a socialization program conducted at SDN 1 Curut on Tuesday, December 3, with the participation of 13 students. The program included presentations and discussions focusing on the importance of consuming multivitamins. Results: The socialization activity at SDN 1 Curut, involving 13 fourth-grade students, ran smoothly and received positive feedback. Students' understanding of the importance of consuming multivitamins improved significantly after attending the session and participating in the posttest. The activity also received good appreciation from the participants. Conclusion: The socialization regarding the importance of consuming multivitamins successfully enhanced the understanding of the fourth-grade students at SDN 1 Curut. The majority of the students demonstrated high enthusiasm and better comprehension of the benefits of multivitamins in maintaining body health.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Seorang perempuan yang sedang dalam masa kehamilan tidak hanya memberikan nutrisi bagi dirinya sendiri namun bagi dirinya dan juga bagi janinnya. Asupan gizi yang cukup sangat dibutuhkan oleh ibu hamil, sehingga dapat memberikan nutrisi yang baik kepada janin untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan janin di dalam kandungan (Pratiwi dan Hamidiyanti, 2020). Selama kehamilan perlu diperhatikan bahwa berat badan ibu diharapkan bertambah sekitar 9-12 kg. Tujuan: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini meningkatkan pengetahuan, merubah sikap dan perilaku ibu agar memahami tentang gizi selama dalam masa kehamilan. Metode: Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan 3 (tiga) tahapan yaitu pendaftaran ibu hamil, pemeriksaan ibu hamil dan pelaksanaan kegiatan edukasi tentang gizi pada ibu hamil. Hasil: Ibu Hamil yang hadir 100% sesuai sasaran. Secara keseluruhan klien merespon dengan baik dibuktikan melalui hasil evaluasi lisan saat kegiatan dan ibu hamil menjawab beberapa pertanyaan dengan benar. Simpulan: Ibu hamil memperoleh edukasi mengenai gizi selama kehamilan guna meningkatkan pengetahuan, serta ibu mampu mengaplikasikan pemenuhan gizi selama kehamilan.

Abstract

Background: One source of disease transmission that is often overlooked is kitchen utensils, especially dishwashing sponges. Sponges used continuously in damp, warm conditions and that frequently contact food scraps can become a breeding ground for various pathogenic microorganisms, including Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria. E. coli is an indicator of fecal contamination that can cause various health problems, such as diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and even food poisoning. Public ignorance about how to properly care for sponges, such as regular washing, drying, or periodic replacement, further increases the risk of spreading bacteria through eating utensils. Purpose: The aim of this program is to evaluate the increase in the knowledge capacity of housewives in understanding dishwashing techniques using sponges to prevent the transmission of the pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli. Method: This Community Service Program involved health education outreach for housewives, with 22 housewives, one person from the village government, and one health education worker participating. The program included planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. Results: The community service activities received positive appreciation and participation from all housewives and village government officials in Gagakan, Kahuman, Polanharjo, Klaten. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon Analysis Test, there was a significant increase in knowledge after being given socialization on dishwashing techniques using sponges (p = 0.012). Conclusion: The socialization of the sponge dishwashing technique improved housewives' knowledge of the sponge dishwashing technique, thereby preventing the spread of pathogenic Escherichia coli bacteria. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the role of housewives in community empowerment activities through the sponge dishwashing technique socialization program for effective dissemination.

Abstract

Community service activity entitled "Education on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) for SDN  Kopek Students to Realize Healthy School" was conducted by targeting 50 elementary students (grades 4-5) in Kopek Village, Godong Sub-district, Grobogan Regency. This intervention aimed to enhance knowledge, skills, and motivation in proper handwashing with soap (CTPS) to give attention to poor hygiene practices contributing to infectious diseases. Methods combined interactive health education through LCD projector visualization of enlarged virus images on unclean hands, animated video demonstration of WHO's 6-step handwashing technique, knowledge assessment, guided hands-on practice, demonstration by selected students, and closure with synchronized handwashing song and movements. Results demonstrated significant improvements: students transitioned from basic awareness to better execution of CTPS procedures, exhibiting increased confidence during demonstrations and sustained engagement through mnemonic songs. Visual risk perception via virus imagery and visual-auditory-kinesthetic learning  strengthened long-term memories, confirming effectiveness of participatory approaches over conventional lectures. Findings align with social learning theory and prior studies showing 70-85% gains in handwashing compliance post-intervention.

Abstract

Background: Breast milk (breast milk) is the best natural food that a mother can give to her baby. Breastfeeding is influenced by age, the younger the mother, the smaller the breastfeeding tends to be. Consistent milk production and confidence in breastfeeding are essential for the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Hypnopressure is one of the methods that can increase and maintain breast milk production. Purpose: The purpose of this intervention is to provide hypnopressure  education on the problem of smooth breastfeeding in adolescent mothers. Method: The activity was carried out in Menduran Village, the working area of the Brati Health Center, with 10 teenage mothers participating. The stages include problem identification, planning, team development, and implementation. Education was carried out using the lecture method, the media used, namely SOPs related to hypnopressure techniques, acupressure meridian point leaflets, and sound systems. Results: The results of the pre-test showed that 6 participants (60%) were still not fluent in providing exclusive breastfeeding. After 7 days of training, the results of the post test showed an increase in the smoothness of Exclusive Breastfeeding, namely 9 participants (90%). Conclusion: Hypnopressure can improve the smoothness of breastfeeding so that this intervention can be an alternative to be given to adolescent mothers to be useful for the success of exclusive breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: Providing accessible health screening services combined with health education represents a crucial strategy for enhancing community wellness and disease prevention efforts. Geographic barriers, socioeconomic disparities, and insufficient healthcare infrastructure create significant obstacles to delivering adequate health services, especially within rural populations. A substantial portion of elderly individuals and community residents remain uninformed about their health status owing to infrequent medical check-ups and limited knowledge regarding disease prevention strategies. Purpose: To provide free health screening services, anti-bullying awareness activities, and education on Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) to the community of Sukolilo Village in order to support early detection of non-communicable diseases and improve public health awareness. Method: The intervention utilized diverse educational approaches including interactive presentations, group discussions, and participatory question-answer sessions covering health maintenance, bullying prevention, and PHBS principles. Complimentary health assessments encompassed measurements of blood pressure, blood glucose levels, cholesterol, and uric acid concentrations. A total of 50 individuals participated, comprising general community members, senior citizens, and students from SDN 02 Sukolilo Elementary School. Results: The execution of complimentary health assessments and educational interventions in Sukolilo Village successfully enhanced community recognition regarding the significance of regular health monitoring and maintaining healthy lifestyles. Participants acquired valuable insights into early disease detection methods and PHBS implementation strategies. The anti-bullying awareness initiative effectively educated students about respecting diversity and fostering secure educational environments. Conclusion: This comprehensive program integrating complimentary health screenings, anti-bullying awareness, and PHBS education demonstrated significant effectiveness in advancing community health literacy and consciousness. The initiative underscores the critical importance of preventive and health promotion strategies within public health frameworks, particularly for communities experiencing limited healthcare facility access.

Abstract

Background: Vocabulary mastery is crucial to English speaking skills, yet many elementary school students struggle to remember and use vocabulary effectively in daily communication. This is often due to conventional teaching methods that lack engagement and effectiveness. Objective: This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to enhance students’ vocabulary acquisition and speaking skills through animated educational videos as interactive and engaging learning media. The main objective is to help students develop English vocabulary relevant to everyday life and improve their speaking abilities. Method: The program was implemented using a systematic approach comprising five main stages: needs analysis, planning, program implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. It involved 28 sixth-grade students, and the data were gathered through observations, discussions, and interviews.Results: The results indicate that animated educational videos enhanced students’ vocabulary mastery, motivation, and speaking confidence. Students became more enthusiastic, actively participated, and showed greater willingness to speak English during activities. Conclusion: In conclusion, animated educational videos effectively create engaging, interactive, and contextual learning environments and can serve as an innovative strategy to improve the quality of English language learning at the elementary level.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Mengembangkan perilaku sehat di usia dini merupakan aspek fundamental pendidikan karakter yang mendukung terciptanya gaya hidup sehat dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup jangka panjang. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian menumbuhkan kebiasaan gaya hidup sehat sejak usia dini gaya hidup sehat di TK Miftahul Ulum Desa Katong. Metode : Senam AIH dilaksanakan untuk menanamkan tujuh kebiasaan sehat dan mengembangkan sifat karakter positif pada anak, seperti disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan semangat kebersamaan. Kegiatan senam dilakukan  pada hari Sabtu Pagi yang diikusi siswa di TK Miftahul Ulum Desa Katong. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa senam AIH yang teratur dan terstruktur dapat meningkatkan kesadaran anak akan pentingnya hidup sehat dan mendukung perkembangan fisik, kognitif, dan sosial mereka. Senam AIH juga berfungsi sebagai strategi pencegahan alami untuk menjaga kesehatan anak berdasarkan pendekatan biologis. Peran guru dan lingkungan sekolah sangat penting dalam membimbing dan menyediakan sumber daya pendukung, sehingga menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang mendukung pembentukan karakter dan kebiasaan sehat sejak usia dini.

Abstract

Background: Bullying among children often involves repeated aggressive behavior by an individual or group against others perceived as weak and unable to defend themselves. Using force to verbally hurt a person or group of people, or to demean others, can have significant impacts on the victim, ranging from physical harm to difficulty interacting with others socially. Purpose: This community service activity aims to raise awareness about anti-bullying behavior in elementary schools, its negative effects, and the importance of tolerance among children. Method: This community service activity was implemented using counseling methods through lectures, discussions, and role-playing simulations to provide a realistic picture and effective ways to prevent bullying among elementary school students. Results: This activity resulted in increased participant understanding of the impact of bullying and simple, effective steps to prevent it. Conclusion: The community service activities that have been carried out have contributed to creating a safer elementary school atmosphere for children and supporting their mental well-being.
