Abstract

This research aims to examine collection development at the Udayana University Library. The Udayana University Library is one of the higher education libraries, where the community served is the Udayana University academic community which currently serves 14 faculties with 112 study programs. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data sources used in this research are primary data and secondary data which are then organized, managed and analyzed by converting them into a narrative format that is easy to understand. The results of this research indicate that the Udayana University Library has a collection development policy in written form which is used as a guideline in achieving the stated goals. Procurement carried out at the Udayana University Library is adjusted to the budget obtained by distributing catalogs to each faculty to select the required collections. In carrying out weeding activities, collections that are 5 (five) years old will generally be weeded into collections for subsequent destruction.

Abstract

The National Library of the Republic of Indonesia as the main center and provider of information for users throughout Indonesia, provides a variety of special services to accommodate the information needs of its users. Some of the services provided by this library are collection services for children, the elderly and the disabled. This study aims to observe the utilization of collection services for children, the elderly and the disabled at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Determining the source of key informant data using purposive sampling, in order to collect data using documentation, observation, literature study, interviews and using triangulation data collection techniques.This study shows the results that the use of children's, elderly and disabled collection services at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia is optimal, seen by the use of children's collections which are in great demand, namely pop up books and story telling, while for the elderly the use of religious and health collections is also a means of recreationally and for the disabled, use collection services based on their disability condition, for the blind, use the braille book collection. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the collection services for children, the elderly and the disabled at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia are optimal.

Abstract

The implementation of INLISLite Version 3.2 aims to enhance library services in Indonesia, especially at the National Library of Indonesia. This research evaluates the efficiency improvements brought by INLISLite 3.2, focusing on user satisfaction and library management. The study uses a mixed-method approach, collecting quantitative data from user surveys and qualitative data from interviews with librarians. The results show significant improvements in cataloging processes, data management, and user experience.

Abstract

Searching for information on the internet, especially social media, using hashtags is certainly something that is no longer foreign in today's digital era. The role of hashtags as an alternative for searching for information that is quite easy to use can be utilized by all levels of society. Freedom of communication on social media has resulted in the use of hashtags being used frequently as a tool to expand the reach of information dissemination. This article explains how hashtags play a role in the behaviour of internet users in searching for information on the internet. There are many benefits to using hashtags on social media, such as helping to find relevant information, helping to advertise products, and being used as a tool to voice opinions by activists, both individually and publicly. The use of hashtags can also have a negative impact, as caused by social media users lacking ethics in communicating in the internet environment. Hashtags can be ranked based on the number of social media users who use the same hashtag, so that hashtags become one of the benchmarks for how information can be declared as viral or popular information.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to determine and identify the mapping of librarian information literacy at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. This research was conducted at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia. The research period was 1 month which was carried out from March 4 to April 4, 2024. The population was 68 librarians while the sample size was 67 librarians. In the sample, this study adopted the total sampling method by dividing the population into subpopulations and taking samples as a whole from each subpopulation. The application of the Big Six method in librarian information literacy at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia involves six stages. At the task definition stage, librarians are able to identify user information needs and help formulate research questions. At the information search strategy stage, librarians select and plan relevant and reliable information search strategies. At the location and access stage, librarians know the location of information sources and help users access them, both physically and digitally. At the information use stage, librarians help users understand and use the information accessed, and record relevant information. At the synthesis stage, librarians combine information from various sources into a coherent and logical whole. Finally, at the evaluation stage, the librarian assesses the quality and relevance of the information and reflects on the information seeking process for future improvements.

Abstract

Libraries need to conduct persuasive promotions to attract users and potential users to visit and optimally utilize available services. To achieve the goal of library promotion, the library needs to have a promotion strategy, which is the steps taken to achieve a certain goal. This research focuses on the Perpustakaan KPw. Bank Indonesia Provinsi Bali, a special library that is also open to the general public which based on observation shows that the number of general public visitors to the library has increased significantly since the promotion during 2023. This paper utilizes a qualitative research method with a descriptive study. Data collection were conducted using observation, interview, and literature study techniques. The results showed that Perpustakaan KPw. Bank Indonesia Provinsi Bali has implemented a promotional strategy that includes internal and external promotions to attract visitors to the library. Internal promotion at the Perpustakaan KPw. Bank Indonesia Provinsi Bali is aimed at internal staff, while external promotion to attract external visitors is done through social media, personal selling, and special events.

Abstract

A company or institution requires management to organize and manage an institution, for example a library. Activities in the library require management to organize the activities in the library well. College Libraries are libraries that assist the university academic community activities at a university. College libraries are a repository for searching for information for the academic community. This study used qualitative method by conducting interviews with informants by conducting observations, interviews and notes. The results of this research are that the management system at the Bali State Polytechnic Library is regulated based on the Policy of the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia No. 13 of 2017 concerning National Standards for Higher Education Libraries.

Abstract

A special library is a type of library intended for a specific agency or organization. The special library of the State Prosecutor's Office plays an important role in providing information and knowledge to the prosecution's employees. This research aims to examine the management system of the State Prosecutor's Office Library in Denpasar. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques from observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results indicate that the management activities at the State Prosecutor's Office Library in Denpasar have not yet operated optimally and cannot be considered an ideal special library. This is because many management activities in the library do not comply with National Library Regulation No. 7 of 2022, which governs the specific standards for special libraries.

Abstract

This article discusses the important role of classification in big data in libraries with the aim of knowing and understanding the important role of classification in libraries, especially in managing big data in libraries. The method used in this research is a literature study that utilizes literary sources. The results of this research include implementing an effective classification system which is very important to optimize information access, support information retrieval systems, and improve library services both in terms of quality and to be ready to face the challenges of the explosion of data in libraries.
